Disclosure - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix
The Disclosure duo made up of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence have become one of the most buzzed electronic acts in the world in the past year and have just dropped off the artist defining 2 hour long BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. These young producers known for their house sound are actually influenced heavily by American hip-hop producer J. Dilla and have started their essential mix with a 15 minute tribute to him and the Detroit hip-hop scene. The group then moves into what they are known from house music, techno and garage and the unexpected american hip-hop. The mix features brand new music from Breach, Friend Within, New York Transit Authority and Dusky. It’s an amazing 2 hour journey to followup their #1 charting album Settle. Listen to the entire thing below and look at track-list over here. Saw these guys live last week and they are really amazing!
In the era of the iPhone, Facebook, and Twitter, we’ve become enamored of ideas that spread as effortlessly as ether. We want frictionless, “turnkey” solutions to the major difficulties of the world—hunger, disease, poverty. We prefer instructional videos to teachers, drones to troops, incentives to institutions. People and institutions can feel messy and anachronistic. They introduce, as the engineers put it, uncontrolled variability.

Sampha - Without
After working with names like SBTRKT, Drake, Koreless and Jessie Ware, it's finally time for the man to release his own EP.
This rising star has one of the most warming voices in the genre and has been the key supporter for SBTRKT. He also made one of the prettiest singles of 2010 with Jessie Ware, called Valentine.
Not only that, but the fact that Drake chose Sampha to be a producer for his next album should say a lot about the many qualities Sampha has. All of these are coming together on his debut EP called Dual, which should be released on Young Turks at the end of the month. You can listen to the first single 'Without' below.
But being open to using your instincts instead of going, “Oh, that’s not going to work.” Or listening to the part of your brain that goes, “Oh, that’s out of tune.” Or the part of your brain that says, “That’s too loud.” You have to shut off all of those voices and look for these special moments—these moments that you accept you have no control over. So much of my job is to not think—to be open to what’s there, and then use my intuition to see where it takes me.

Daft Punk - Get Lucky (Daft Punk Remix)
Like releasing a new album wasn't enough to keep us fans excited, Daft Punk also told us that they would be bringing out a three track ep with a remix on July 16. Yes, this is a remix by Daft Punk themselves, get over it. Watch the promo video below, or listen to the remix on Spotify over here.
Too old to be new, too new to be classic
It's been 12 years since DFA Records saw the light. The label is home for many bands that helped influence the '00. Bands like LCD Soundsystem en The Raptures for example. In order to celebrate their 12 year anniversary last month a short documentary was released which gives great inside information about an already iconic record label.
Directed by Max Joseph (editor of the excellent A Brief History of John Baldessari), it is narrated by Marc Maron (of the great WTFpodcast) and produced by Red Bull.
“But, as regular digital cameras become more connected, there will be even more ways to share pictures. It’s not “cheating” to shoot on a digital camera, it’s just not relevant. Why does it matter to me what device you used to take a picture? I either like it, or I don’t.”

Designed by Apple in California
After last week's WWDC, much attention went to the announcement of iOS 7. Wether it's good attention or bad (mostly bad), this little beauty of a video slipped by barely unnoticed. The video tells the principles Apple tries to life by and it's quite inspiring. What do we want people to feel?
VSCO Cam 2.0
The standard of mobile photography is here. Yesterday VSCO launched a major update for their VSCO Cam app. With their first version they set the bar really high, but now they pushed it even further. Innovative, beautiful and superior are the first three words that come to mind when using the app. With an even better editing function the app becomes an even better tool for iPhone photographers. More filters, efficient editing, a better way to organize your photos and a store for more presets are things you're gonna find in this new update. And the best of all? The app is free on the App store. More info.
Daft Punk ft. Pharrell - Get Lucky
It's been 7 years since we last seen a proper album from Daft Punk (not counting TRON). But after months of rumours we finally got a date for their new upcoming album, Random Access Memories. One thing they surely did great was creating an hype around the album by teasing us little bits. Fans even created complete songs out of 15 seconds snippets! But to make the wait more bearable Daft Punk finally officially released their first single, Get Lucky. With Pharrell on vocals and Nile Rodgers on guitar it has awesomeness all over. Random Access Memories will be out on May 21.
Listen to the song here on Rdio or on Spotify.
TNGHT - ACRYLICS
So TNGHT just dropped a new track to blow up the road to Coachella. This super duo consisting of Lunice and Hudson Mohawke dropped one of the best EPs of 2012 and is certainly not thinking about stopping. I saw them both live last month (unfortunately not as TNGHT) and they both gave a killer show. If you get the chance to see them live, then go!
