anytime i hear the "thistleclaw was just manipulating spottedpaw to train in the dark forest" argument is how i KNOW these people dont remember/havent read the book

if you can read through this segment and tell me this is NOT overtly and entirely grooming then something is wrong with you i am 100% serious.

read through these 2 images im dead serious read them and tell me this doesn't make your skin crawl.

#1 - this is Overtly romantic even if thistleclaw "doesnt actually feel the same way" he is still OVERTLY preying on spottedpaw's crush on him in a way that is predatory

#2- romantic or not THIS IS GROOMING. this is the DEFINITION of grooming. thistleclaw is an adult with inherent power over her who is using that power to isolate and manipulate her into trusting him so he can take advantage of her

no matter what way you interpret Any action in this book thistleclaw grooming spottedpaw is just an undeniable fact. thistleclaw using romantic speech to groom spottedpaw is an undeniable fact and im tired of people acting like its not

even if you want to completely ignore spottedleaf's heart, which is weird imo, he literally has a history of this. Tiny, Tigerpaw, and his own son Whitepaw are all victims of his abuse. he trains tigerpaw and whitepaw too hard, often putting them in harms way. he is manipulative and hurtful towards children this is just an undeniable fact of his character for as long as he's Been a character and not just a reference from bluestar's dialogue.
