the problem with the aphmau fandom (imo) is that most fans are unable to criticise the content. they take any and all criticisms or analysis of it as blasphemous, often ignoring any kind of validity or credibility of the argument.

“don’t like aarmau? dont watch. dont like Jess’s writing? dont watch.” well, guess what, you can like something and still criticise it, and understand how poorly made it is.

I love basically everything Jess and Jason have made (excluding asmp) and have so much fun rewatching and watching now. but im not naive, i understand that there are too many characters who are not explored enough. i understand that some of the lore doesn’t make sense. I am able to say that the pacing of serious and unserious moments is horrible, and still love it! I can say that certain episodes are weird to put in kids content, and still enjoy watching those episodes.

two things can exist at once, yet the fandom does not understand that. it’s the only reason I don’t join fandom-related activities and spaces (also because none of the ships are interesting to me — AARMAU WHO SAID THAT)

But if I wanted to see a good Aphmau I would watch mcd

Mcd Aphmau was just the best you know? All the other Aphmau variants I've seen so far aside from her are just stupid to me

I really don't know how to explain it, they're just so watered down and always depending on another character and sometimes annoying as hell

She had some good moments I'll admit but they're always so overlooked

Is it just me but are the werewolves in aphmau content give the same fetishization as native and black men are in media while meif'wa are full of asian fetishization? Specifically a lot of "Noble Savage" and "Submissive Minority" type of things and the way both are dehumanized for their race. Just me? alright.
