NATO Standard Phonetic Alphabet,

The phonetic alphabet was developed as a way to spell things out over radio communications that may be less then ideal, I.E. a lot of static or weak signal. All the words were chosen because they have a distinct sound that is easy to pick out. Military and police communications use the phonetic alphabet heavily and can be helpful to know for talking over CB’s or FRS (walky talky) radios.

The online Japanese course that no one talks about

Okay so I’m not a langblr and I never plan to be. However. What I do know from following a ton of them is that no one talks about Minato.

Now you may be thinking, ‘What’s Minato?’. It’s a website that was recommended to me by a Japanese Studies university professor for learning Japanse at home.

It’s literally the best resource out there and it’s free (funded by the Japanese government). You can choose between self-study and tutor support-led courses.

There are courses in Hiragana, Katakana, and the general language (from levels A1 to A2), and you can download a certificate and study record after completion of a course.

as a fellow socially anxious person, i think it’s important to let you all know that no one cares about your flaws as much as you do. no one is going to notice if your hair is a little flat, or that you’re eyebrows are a little uneven, or that there is a loose thread in the hem of your sweater. and, even if they do, no one is going to hate you for it, or think you’re gross, or stop being your friend because of it. hell, being around someone who isn’t perfect is nice because we can all take comfort in knowing that EVERYBODY has slightly off odds and ends. so don’t pay any mind to the little things that make you worry, no one is going to think less of you for them.
