He regarded her with a curt nod, chest tightening on inward grimace as she bounded over with utter disregard for caution. Like she were greeting a friend. A huff shifted his frame.
No matter how much he withdrew or plainly chided, the exercise never seemed to stick. Much too bright to meet damper from his cold — she hadn't changed a bit, after all this time. Shoulders rolled on an upward tilt of his chin, scrutinising her calmly. Perhaps he was pleased to see her... or perhaps not.
"I trust you somehow endured without me?"
As though he were ever present in the first place. He chuckled at the presumption.
"You look... well."
He could never truly quite tell — that garish pyre of gold atop her head burning his eyes either way. It was hard not to stare...
Big fan of how if you "truly" complete the questlines/stories for all my other muses, they are fated to die at the end... then there's Valtr who just runs off into the woods to blonde man jumpscare the next person he sees upon his retirement.
