Was Dawson’s Creek good? I’m looking for a show to watch in between Rookie episodes and I always see you post about it!

Oh, man. This such a loaded question! Like any show there are bits I skip, or season I prefer over others, but, yes, you should at least try!!

The best part about Dawson’s creek was Joey and Pacey. Hands down, to this day, I can watch them and still feel that connection so clearly on the screen. Pacey is part of my romantic ideal, the way he loved, and the way he championed people? Stunning!

I watched Dawsons Creek after it went off the air, when I was still probably too young, but had an early morning babysitting job one summer and this was on the WB at 6, so, I watched it.

It is peak 90’s/early aughts. That of course means there is a lot in it that is problematic- but, it’s also young love, and friendship, and family. Major emphasis on found family, and art as expression, and the ability to be who you are with the people you love.

The worst part about it is Dawson. He is a foul, evil, loathsome, little cockroach of a character. But, that is what makes everyone else so great? Dawson is white and has more opportunities and money then his friends do, his head is also so far up his ass he is about to kiss his tonsils.

That being said you also have:

Joey Potter: who is equally enamoured with life as she is made cynical by it.

Pacey Witter: who looks up one day and sees Joey and somehow she is his North star.

Jen Lindley: the city girl with a heart so wide open that she doesn’t know what to do with all the emotions.

Grams: who doesn’t know how to love her granddaughter until she just decides to, and then proceeds to adopt all the creek kids.

Jack McPhee: Jen’s BFF, Joey’s nude painting model, quarterback, and breakthrough gay character on tv.

Day 24 - Daenerys as a leader:

During her formative years, Daenerys Targaryen grew up in exile, had lived experience of poverty and was raised by an abusive and unreliable brother. These tragic past experiences forced her to grow up even before the beginning of the main story, in which she was sold as a sex slave. Consequently, Daenerys is often shown to learn on her own and naturally apply important leadership lessons that the Starks got to learn from mentors, advisors and/or family members (see some of them above). 

Daenerys’s remarkable bravery, maturity, proactivity and self-reliance - which are all the more apparent when her background, character development and hard-earned victories are contrasted with the Starks’ - set her apart as a natural born leader and partly explain why she’s the sole protagonist of ASOIAF who got to surpass the accomplishments of all of her ancestors and to be the only representative of her house in the current timeline.
