Can't get out of my head the thought of Sylus leaning over you in bed to give you the softest kisses
Just imagine waking up all bleary-eyed and droopy. Body heavy with exhaustion. Mind foggy from dreams. And through the darkness, above you, you see a figure, barely illuminated by moonlight
Sylus smiles when he sees your lashes flutter, eyes slowly focusing in on him. He's already dressed. Ready to start his night while you sleep. A greedy part of him wishes he had continued to sleep in. To stay beside you, holding you against him, just to savor every second he has with you. Alas, business must be enacted with the clawed fist of a dragon
He rests his hand beside your head, supporting himself as he leans down. His lips find yours delicately. A soft brush. Stirring you from sleep to reach out and hold him. Your fingers wrap loosely around his collar. Tangle in his hair, eager to feel his softness before he leaves
"I'll be back soon," he murmurs. Another kiss, this time to your cheek. "You'll wake up..." To the center of your forehead. "... and I'll be here."
You bask in the warmth radiating off of him. The scent of his cologne in your nose. The brush of lips as they trail over your temple, down the angle of your jaw, your chin, to reach your lips again
"Promise?" you whisper, syllables slurring together ever so slightly. But you still try to kiss him back. Kiss him with more pressure. Deeper. To taste him on your tongue instead of the mint of your toothpaste. To fuel you for the long night ahead, alone
He chuckles, barely a ghosting puff of air. He nibbles your lip. Accepts entrance into your mouth as he kisses you down into your pillow. For a moment, he lets himself be greedy. Lets himself kiss you like he intends to lay his body over yours and stay until morning. His hand at his side cradles your cheek, to feel you, to remember the impression of your skin against his palm
All too soon, he pulls away. Sighing with the weight of his reluctance. "I promise." He kisses your forehead one last time. Gently untangles your fingers from him, squeezing your hands as he lowers them back to your chest. "Go to sleep, sweetie. I love you."
He releases you slowly. Stands for a moment longer than necessary to watch you turn over onto your side and fall back asleep. Listens to the sound of your breaths, rising and falling, evening out
He steps quietly through the room to the door, peeking through as he slowly shuts it
Work first. He'll be back soon enough
