we really have to compliment people around us more about basic things. the lab assistant offered us to meet in his work group's offices and then explained a lot of stuff to us in a very clear and educational way.
so at the end after we were done discussing any open questions i went "thank you, you explained this really well" and he honest to god BLUSHED. because i told the guy whose job is "explain this thing to student" that he explained a thing to students.
