I could rant about my reasons why but I don't even know how many would listen, have seen posts on here before that summarize it perfectly though imo at least personally "oh but it/its users don't use that in a dehumanizing way!" some of us do! that's part of the whole reason I like it! one of my fav quotes from somewhere on here ties into this really well, this is the post and the quote was "Being seen as something nonhuman does not immediately equal lesser" and that just hits hard tbh. oh, and this is the other post I was thinking of that matches my reasons for using it/its I wanna ramble more but I'll leave it at that. in the end, every it/its user uses it for different reasons tho, and that's okay

i think you should be allowed to identify as trans without retroactively saying you were also trans in the past. i think the "born this way" rhetoric is limiting and you should be able say stuff like "i was fully a girl when i was a kid and now im a boy" without it invalidating your current identity but maybe that's just me

I get being frustrated at the lack of popularity for WLW ships in fandom. I really do.

But maybe instead of being homoandrophobic and complaining that "yaoi ships are not good" or "MLM is bland and uninteresting" or whatever, you can complain "hey why aren't these WLW ships more popular? Why aren't they getting more attention?"

Just a thought. You don't have to toss achilleans under the bus to call out the misogyny around sapphic ships.

Think we should bring back REG as a term. It stands for Reactionary Exclusionary Gatekeeper. It's why every round of exclusionary discourse that denies a specific groups' oppression and places in the community follows the same rhetoric because regs are regs are regs. Deny the group faces any specific oppression for their identity, attack any and all vocabulary so they can't discuss it, say what they do face is really just misogyny/homophobia/transphobia, say they're incapable of recognizing their own experiences, say they're just desperate to be oppressed, and really oppressed the real queer people. Rinse repeate. Fall silent once the pendulum swings towards acceptance until a new target reveals itself.
