Epsilon Squad: 22 BBY vs. 19 BBY
i. am. the. answer.
Everyone loves a cycle aware Orpheus but what about a cycle aware Eurydice? Eurydice who tries her hardest to resist the hunger and the cold. Tries to convince Orpheus to just LOOK UP time and time again to no avail. Eurydice who KNOWS and still fails. She knows heās gonna turn around. She knows theyāre not gonna make it out of hell together. But she hopes. Every time she hopes that he loves her a little bit less than the last time. Hopes he wonāt look back. But of course, Orpheus is still Orpheus. And he loves her more than anything.
I think my favourite part of the hadestown proshoot is when Eurydice says, "Is he always like this?" and Hermes, who has seen this story a thousand thousand times, who has tried again and again to warn Orpheus not to come on too strong, says with Extreme Exhaustion in his voice, "Yes."
something i adore about hadestown is that it still meant something, y'know what i mean? like okay, no orpheus's song did not convince hades to give up his empire. hades' love for persephone isn't enough to deconstruct the machine he's built and has convinced himself that he needs in order to protect what he has. but he let them go. he saw the love eurydice and orpheus had for one another and it convinced him to let them try. orpheus may have turned around but they still walked, they almost made it. doubt set it but they were right there. that's further than anyone else can say. nobody else had made it that far. who's to say someone else can't make it a few steps further? persephone is able to leave the underworld and go home again when she needs to. spring has come again, if we're lucky autumn just might too. will this change be permanent? we don't know. but it's something. it doesn't knock down the wall but it's one brick out of it. and that means something. it wasn't all for nothing. it's a crack in the wall. there's a reason we keep singing this old song.
people always talk about the doomed love timeloop when they talk about hadestown. look i love that shit as much as the next homosexual but can we please talk about the revolutionary politics. genuinely one of the best anticapitalist pieces of art of the 21st century. can we watch act 2 with our brains please
and you know what... he would definitely turn around for her.

I would imagine it starts with small things and tiny steps⦠And drinking buckets of your maker's blood, but that's a matter for some art in the future.
I'm thinking about the nulls' grudge against the kaminoans again. It seems to me like something that calcified throughout their childhood and was encouraged by multiple factors. and why wouldnt they have a grudge honestly? your preschool teacher decides you arent a satisfactory toddler and does a bunch of evil shit to you and then tries to have you killed. and when they can't get away with that they just come back as your kindergarten and first grade and so on teachers and all they want now is to try and make you more satisfactory? first of all thats suspicious to the mind of a child. second of all the unresolved conflict of all of that is insane, it's like an infected wound. the kind of stuff that would easily make a bunch of kids extremely stubborn and hateful. it's very enraging to be assigned crazy at that age, especially when it's because of behaviors that developed from things they had no choice in. frustrating to have to deal with your own failed experiments all the time, twice as suffocating to be the failed experiment and still expected to perform for beings that you know see very little value in you. there is a kind of instinctive urge to provoke that is created from that I think. especially when their reactive behavior is likely the main excuse in writing to use more abusive tactics. ask a null for compliance and he will make you treat him how you used to, before it could be determined his fault, before there was anyone else around to see or care about it. there is no moving on.
What are Hunter and Tech finding?
Obi-Wan coming back from the Hardeen Mission to find the lightsaber clip gone from Cody's utility belt.
sometimes you see Takes⢠that make you go "mmmhmmm okay yeah i see we both interpreted that differently based on what the show gave us, but i see how you arrived at your ideas even if they're different from mine," and then sometimes you see Takes⢠that make you go "brother what show did you even fucking watch"
Minioning more devils
Of course they donāt like Milly Alcockās Supergirl. Sheās a grown ass woman with zero love interests who spends the movie saving her dog, casually dismantling a sex trafficking ring while sheās at it, and preaching the importance of being good, not nice or smiley or cheerful but good. I for one adored the movie and I really hope Iāll get to see more of Alcockās Supergirl sheās now my favorite iteration of her and I love her so dearly.
