Saving the Future of a Palestinian PhD Student and His Family in Gaza
Dear friends, I ask for your attention and compassion.
My name is Imad Abunada, an artist and a Ph.D. student in art sciences in France. I’m here because I need your help to support my family, who are enduring unimaginable suffering in Gaza. Right now, they are living in a tent, braving the cold, exposed to winter’s harsh elements. They rely entirely on me, and the current circumstances are pushing me to the limits of what I can do alone.
This is not just an attack; it is a devastating crisis for the people of Gaza. The lives of innocent families, including my own, are at stake every day, struggling under relentless bombings and unimaginable conditions.

I am facing the possibility of pausing my studies, which would mean not only losing my chance to continue helping them but also being unable to repay the debt of 30,000 euros I incurred to support them.
Your kindness can be a lifeline. By sharing this message or contributing to my GoFundMe campaign, you have the power to make a real difference. Even a small gesture can help bring warmth, shelter, and hope to my family and others enduring this hardship.
Together, we can create hope and bring relief to those in urgent need. Would you consider joining me in this cause, sharing our story, and helping us bring awareness and aid to Gaza? Your support can save lives.
Give us a glimmer of hope,Give us the desire to live,🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Help us survive, Help us smile, Help us rebuild ourselves, Help us get up, Help us stay standing, Help us continue our fight.

It's EMBARRASSING to find myself having to ASK for financial help, but the WORLD has left us with no other SOLUTION.
Only 1344 € in two months 😓😓😓😓😓😓
My family needs over 1000 euros per month due to high living costs 😓😓😓😓😓😓
As winter draws near, bringing icy winds and heavy rains, it awakens fears deeper than the cold itself. Here in Gaza, winter isn’t cozy; it’s a struggle to survive. It means facing the freezing air with no warm clothes, fearing that even a small illness could be catastrophic.
We have no access to hospitals or basic medicines. My little sister, have already ill with hepatitis, suffers even more in this relentless cold, while we stand helpless, weakened by hunger and scarcity. Prices rise beyond reach, and warmth is a luxury we cannot afford.
To the world, we cry out: we are refugees from violence, fleeing bombings and fear. My family need warmth, protection, and—more than anything—the hope that someone hears us.

I am a palestinian PhD student in Art Sciences in France. After six years of master's and doctoral studies in Farnce, the war has turned my life and my family’s life upside down.
My dream of completing my studies had to be set aside so I could try to support those I love.❤️❤️
Today, I am burdened by a debt of 30,000 euros, taken on to help my family during this time of unspeakable suffering.
Every month, I face the responsibility of repaying part of this debt, financially supporting my family despite their own financial struggles that existed even before the conflict, and covering my basic expenses here in France.

Hello, my name is Imad ABUNADA and I am a doctoral student in art scienc… Imad ABUNADA needs your support for Help ABUNADA family from Gaza
Despite my efforts to juggle work and studies, the load is becoming too heavy. This path, which I cherished so much, seems to be slipping away. Yet, I hold on to the hope of one day finding the peace to learn and advance in my research, a hope I nurture thanks to your possible support.
Every gesture, every act of solidarity could help me lighten this burden, allowing me to regain some balance to continue building a future for myself and my family.
For year now, the situation in Gaza has become unbearable. My family, like so many others, faces daily fear, worry, despair, distress, food shortages, lack of medical care, the cold and the heat, tents, and water leaks. Every day, they struggle to survive in increasingly precarious and dangerous conditions.
My house in Jabalia
Today, I am reaching out to your generosity and solidarity to help them get through this crisis, to help me continue my research and doctoral studies. Your donations will provide them with essential resources such as food, drinking water, and medicine.
Together, we can offer them a bit of comfort and dignity, thanks to you. Even a small donation can make a big difference.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. ❤️❤️❤️

I am Imad, a Palestinian PhD student in Art Sciences in France. After six years of master's and doctoral studies in France, the war has turned my life and my family’s life upside down.
I was a lecturer at three French universities in Paris, but the ongoing conflict has disrupted my professional situation as well as the progress of my doctoral studies.
My two university cards when I worked in two Parisian universities
A bit of my own art, the word Palestine with the dove and the symbols of the kiffieh which expresses freedom
I am currently working on a thesis focused on the art and culture of Gaza, a topic that is deeply meaningful to me. However, the loss of loved ones has irreversibly impacted my life, adding a personal pain to the already overwhelming challenges imposed by this difficult situation.

Winter is coming, with its icy air and rains. But for us, this season does not mean the beauty of snow-covered landscapes; it is synonymous with fear, anguish, and immense struggles. For us, winter means surviving without warm clothing and basic supplies.
My family lives in fear of illnesses, of the slightest cold or flu that, in our situation, could be fatal. We have no hospitals to care for us, no medications to relieve us. My little sister has already contracted hepatitis. We suffer even more in this biting cold. All the members of my family are so weakened, so thin, from poor food and lack of everything.
Prices are skyrocketing around us, making it impossible to buy winter clothes, reserved for the few privileged who can still afford it here in Gaza. For us, even a simple coat is an unaffordable luxury.
Today, I am calling out to the whole world: My family, my brothers and sisters, we have fled war zones, bombings, and constant fear in northern Gaza, in the Jabalia camp. We need protection, care, and human warmth. We need hope that someone, somewhere, will hear our voice.

PLEASE STOP AND LOOK! This Family Needs Your Attention!
In Ghazzah, Imad's family is struggling to survive genocide and displacement.
Their home was destroyed and they have been displaced multiple times since. They have also had their tent, their only place of refuge, destroyed by shelling at one point.
The entire family's dreams have been halted. Both Imad's sister Dima, an engineering student at the top of her class, and his brother Ali, a (technically graduated) student in computer studies, are facing the destruction of their academic lives.
Dima's university was bombed and, despite finishing his studies, Ali was unable to receive his degree when his university was also destroyed.
And, that's only in regards to school. Imad's other siblings, Abd Alakrim, Mohammed, and Lina, are also unable to pursue their own aspirations in this horrible state.
Recently, Imad's family had their tent swept away by wind, and have since only been surviving with the clothes on their backs. Their situation is extremely dire, and they need all the help they can possibly get.
Hello, my name is Imad ABUNADA and I am a doctoral student in art scienc… Imad ABUNADA needs your support for Help ABUNADA family from Gaza
Please help Imad save his family. He has been doing everything within his power for over a year at this point and none of it has had any results. He desperately needs your support.
They need to raise €20,000, and currently have only raised €275. Their last donation was 5 days ago.
Again, please do whatever you can to help them. Donate if you're able and share their campaign; everything helps.
We are a suffering family in debt of 30,000 dollars because of the war.
Hello, my name is Imad ABUNADA and I am a doctoral student in art sciences in France, while also teaching at Sciences Po University and Sorbonne-Nouvelle University in Paris. Since 2018, I have been living separately from my family, who currently resides in the Gaza Strip.
Unfortunately, our house was bombed at the beginning of the conflict in northern Gaza, in Jabalia, forcing us to flee multiple times to save our lives, like so many other families in the Gaza Strip. My parents, my younger siblings, are currently in a tent in Deir Al-Balah, lacking essential needs such as water, food, clothing, and medicine.

Israel has also cut off electricity and water, making communication difficult, if not impossible. I often find myself unable to reach them for days, even weeks, which causes great anxiety and a sense of helplessness. Despite my efforts to seek help through embassies, ministries, and other intermediaries, the situation remains desperate. My family's life is constantly in danger, plunging our surroundings into profound distress.
Hello, my name is Imad ABUNADA and I am a doctoral student in art scienc… Imad ABUNADA needs your support for Help ABUNADA family from Gaza
My father, named Hussein and aged 53, is a constant source of inspiration. He has held over 100 different jobs throughout his life to provide for the family's economic needs. With a bachelor's degree, he has pursued a diverse array of occupations, including teaching economics and management, business management, trading, mechanic work, sales, blacksmithing, purchasing advisor, taxi driver, and many more. He is commonly referred to as "King" or "Malek" in Arabic due to his ambition, enthusiasm, personality, versatility, and strength.
As for my mother, named Hanan, she represents our refuge. Always smiling, she embodies the central role of a homemaker, a true "queen of the family." Her support, courage, and hope are invaluable to all of us. Words cannot describe her.
Here are my parents, with love, this photo was taken in 2022
My two sisters:
The eldest, Dima, is 21 years old and is pursuing studies in computer science at Al-Azhar University. With an overall average of 90/100, she already masters three programming languages (Java, Python, C++) due to her dedication and hard work. Despite her aspirations to become an engineer, her university has been demolished.
Lina, aged 16, is the coordinator of family events. She plans our outings, organizes birthdays, family gatherings, and loves reading. She has a strong personality. She dreamt of becoming a dentist.
This photo was taken at the end of August 2023 during a visit to the Rashad Shawa Cultural Center.
My three brothers:
Abd Alkarim, 27 years old, nicknamed Abood, holds a degree in management. He brings humor to our family, always seeking to bring a smile to those around him.
This photo was taken in November 2023 during the war while he was selling lokmas to earn money, but there's nothing left.
Ali, 24 years old, recently completed his studies in computer science and management. Unfortunately, he was unable to retrieve his diploma due to the destruction of his university. His dream job after graduation is on hold as he is now part of the displaced persons committee where our family resides.
Mohammed, 13 years old, the pride of the family, is nicknamed Abou Hommaid or Hommaid. He crafts and tests kites before selling them, ensuring the quality of his products to his clientele of young children in the neighborhood.
In Gaza, there is no safe refuge. Two weeks ago, bomb fragments landed on my family's tent, consuming it, but thankfully, they were outside at the time. Their last refuge in Deir Al-Balah, at the heart of the Gaza Strip, is isolated from any humanitarian aid, rarely reaching the region.
A few weeks ago, I was informed that my family's tent had been swept away by the wind, and they left with only summer clothes, thinking the situation wouldn't last this long. They face daily terror, cooking over a rudimentary fire. The trauma they endure, hour after hour, is indescribable. I urgently need help to evacuate my family from Gaza as soon as possible.
Any additional funds will be used to relocate and assist my cousins, most of whom are minors. The cost for each person without a foreign passport is estimated between $10,000 and $12,000 with other needs and expenses. This money will be sent to my family via bank transfer or other available means in Gaza. This is a difficult step for me, but it's the only solution to save my family.
Our home
Despite all my efforts to get help, including contacting the French Consulate and seeking assistance from important figures, I have received no aid. I am willing to travel to Egypt to meet my family and address their immediate needs once they are safe. Your support could literally save their lives, sheltering them from this terrible war.
I thank you in advance for your generosity. May health and long life accompany you.

For over a year now, we have been struggling to obtain proper food as prices have risen 20 to 30 times.
We’ve also faced difficulty accessing clean water for both daily use and drinking, we were forced to evacuate our home, leaving everything behind.
The situation there is more tragic than ever. Famine, living in tents, war, and death are everywhere, filling each day with fear and suffering.
My sisters, along with so many others, are living in unimaginable conditions, constantly under bombardment, with no access to basic necessities like food and water.
I am reaching out for your support, not only to help my family survive this crisis, but to raise awareness about a reality too many people don’t know. ❤️❤️❤️
