General headcannons for AAALLLL the Grillbys? but mostly Outertale Grillby if ya can ^,^
I'm excited to answer an ask about the Grillbies. The flame elementals are some of my favorite characters. Sorry this took so long, but thank you for the ask!
Sol has a light orange core that flickers into a much darker orange at the tips. His flames get wisps of cobalt blue in them when he blushes.
He fought in the original monster human war before monsters were sealed underground.
He owns a diner named after himself that he opened after he retired. He's a total workaholic despite his relaxed nature. It's the kinda diner that you and your buddies would go to after a long day at work to kick back. Groups of friends or families are more than welcome to host game nights at one of the diner tables. Yes, you can absolutely come play a session of dnd, poker, or monopoly as long as you don't disrupt the peace and are courteous to the workers!
Sol sculpts and blows glass in his free time and hand crafted all the glasses he uses behind the bar.
He is a man of few words, but he's a great listener and a loyal friend.
Flint (Underfell Grillby): Flint has a violet core that flickers into a much darker purple at the tips. His flames have wisps of lavender in them when he blushes.
He owns a bar and has a strict no fighting policy when inside. That doesn't stop him from hosting fights out back and making money off the losers though! His bar is a smokey safe haven from the rest of Underfell and if you can't respect that then you aren't welcome. You go to his bar to make deals, forget your worries for the night, or listen to jazz while playing pool with the guys.
Can and will kick your ass. Will look good doing it. Trained street fighter.
He's a total flirt but respects boundaries.
Wisp (Underswap Grillby): Wisp is a very light yellow orange colored flame, like a little candle. His flames turn candy apple green when he blushes.
Wisp owns a traveling tea shop and bakes the best tea cakes and macarons. All proceeds go to fundraisers and charities working towards making life better for all sorts of flame monsters (Pyropes, Vulcans, flame elementals), and fighting the stigmas against them being dangerous and destructive. Constantly petitions improvements to infrastructure, like flame retardant building materials, more covered areas in waterfall, housing bills preventing flame discrimination etc.
He wears a teal suit, collects doilies, and absolutely looks like an easter basket threw up on him at all times. The man embodies the mad hatter aesthetic well.
Despises being called cute because he wants to be taken seriously.
He loves organizing events and get togethers.
Has a pet fire salamander named Sugardrop whom he knits sweaters for. She is an absolute baby despite being nearly the size of Wisp himself. She has rocky, gem like patches all along her head and back. Most of her kind were hunted to near extinction to harvest those gems and Wisp does his best to help preserve her and her kind. She is long, wiggly, has six legs, a back that spontaneously catches fire, and is full of love. She acts as Wisp's emotional support salamander.
Ignatius/Iggy (Swapfell Purple Grillby): Iggy's flames are constantly flickering that shade of color between violet and magenta. He's a much lighter purple than Flint.
Iggy used to work as the queen's personal spy before the war with humans was lost and all monsters were trapped underground. He knows too much and the queen wants to get rid of him. He's constantly on the run, undermining her rule and rebelling against her heinous acts against the monster citizens.
He hides his stealth spy work under the guise of a traveling candy shop. Can and has made drugged candy in order to get information easier.
Protects children left abandoned after their parents were taken for cruel experiments by the capital. Helps the older ones rebel by looping them into his spy network. He took in Berry and Syrup when they escaped from the labs.
He seems kooky and unstable, but it's a mask to make others let their guards down.
Calcifer (Swapfell Gold Grillby): Calcifer has a bright yellow core that gets darker with the barest hints of light orange at the tips.
Mute. 100% mute. Has severe PTSD due to the circumstances of how it happened.
Super gruff asshole to anyone he doesn't give a shit about, only slightly less of an asshole if he cares about you. He hates humans, and most monsters, and well, literally everyone...except Mandy (Swapfell Gold Muffet) and Rust (Swapfell Red Papyrus). He might be nicer to you if you've got something from Mandy's shop on you when you encounter him.
If you need something or want someone gone, he's they guy you go to for it.
He likes the most low shelf liquor you can find.
Mesh (Underlust Grillby): Mesh has a lighter orange core that bleeds into a bright cyan at the tips. He blushes that same cyan.
Mesh owns a dance club and works behind the bar most nights. He finds dancing relaxing and fun though, so you might find him up on stage on the rare occasion and damn if that isn't a sight to see.
Mixes the flashiest drinks of all the Grillbies.
If you aren't feeling safe he will absolutely find you a way away from whoever is bothering you, a way home if you can't get home, and will test drinks for date rape drugs if he thinks something suspicious is going on. He just wants everyone to stay safe while they're having fun.
He collects all sorts of silly shaped cups and glasses.
He can't get drunk no matter how many drinks you try to butter him up with, only lightly tipsy at the most. He burns through the alcohol too quickly for it to affect him for long.
Sherbert (Outertale Grillby): Sherbert is actually more of an ice elemental than a fire elemental. He has a solid core of stone and ice and what looks like his flames are actually brightly colored gasses that show off the refracted light from his core. Those gasses swirl in various shades of yellow, pink, blue, purple, and even black, and they glitter almost like stars in a nebula (despite being more like the natural phenomenon diamond dust).
Sherbert works in the food court of the monster's space station selling frozen yogurt, nice cream, and starfaits. Everything from his shop is space themed.
He was one of the original monsters sent up into space and slowly shifted from being a flame elemental to being an ice one after years of freezing and defrosting.
He is calm, sweet, and a tad bit mischievous.
