You may be the sorcerer-est, yet you still can't out magic the wizard-est wizard.

“Kill @immoral-wizard”
I cast bees
Summon 5 bees anywhere I desire
I summon them in your colon
I then cast invulnerability on them
You now have 5 unkillable bees fucking up your intestines, enjoy!
I cast Gaseous Form
The bees are buzzing harmlessly in an shapeless cloud.
I also summon 18 spiders to trap the bees in web.
I cast unionize
The spiders unionize against their employer and conjuror, you. You now have to provide dental for them or else they'll quit.
Hehe
You fool…
I’m a Socialist! All of my summons come with a dental plan by default!
A socialist you say? Oh no, my plan backfired. Now I have to resort to plan B!
I SUMMON THE US MILITARY AT THE HEIGHT OF THE COLD WAR!
You may be the sorcerer-est, yet you still can't out magic the wizard-est wizard.

HEY WE GOT IT
PLEASE THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I’VE SEEN THIS THIS AFTERNOON.
I’m queueing this for once a day. Good luck keeping your sanity mutuals 😇
It’s back >:))
So I was watching the doctor who specials, and The Doctor mentions that he knows like 57 billion languages, which seems just impossible, but I was curious just HOW impossible it is.
According to various sources online the doctor is somewhere between 900 and upwards of 1500 years old. If we assume that (hypothetically) the doctor is capable of learning an entire language every single second, then realistically it would have taken him just slightly over 1800 years to learn. Now, this does go over 1500 years, but I'm willing to say that the "upwards of" bit could encompass this time period. This is also assuming he was learning at the rate I was saying for all of his life.
Because of this, I propose that the doctor is ALWAYS learning new languages no matter what he's doing, and the reason he sometimes acts stupid or crazy is because 90% of his brainpower is always being used on learning a language every second.

Previously our heroes looted the left hallway of the vault. @the-frog-wizard-leep had the good sense to take their newfound riches and leave, while everyone else went down the ominous right hallway. They were greeted by destroyed Titan automata and opened deleted the door anyway.
Something from the other side is leaking a tremendous amount of magical energy and is trying to batter our heroes to death with tendrils
*Right before a Tendril hit me i vanish in a Puff of Fire and appear on top of it*
Now this does look interesting.
How about we even the odds a little...
*I say as i summon an equal amount of Fire serpents to counter the Tendrils and attempt to stop them from moving*
Vell performs a series of complex incantations, then stretches out their hands, visibly straining. Slowly, but with increasing speed, the treasure and debris scattered around the room begins to float and Vell prepares to launch the items at one of the tendrils.
Telekinesis is my specialty—I’ll try not to hit you guys, but it’s hard to control this many items! Stay clear!

"Alright, I'm sending out a scout."
* small spider-like figurine, animated by yours truly, is shaped from a bit of lead, and I just throw it AS HARD AS I CAN towards the presence. *
The Sorcerer is lost in his consumption. The years he has spent as a middling spellcaster have left him ravenous for magic, desperate to restore his former glory. He bites and pulls and drains the tendrils of darkness with no regard for his own safety. He would consume the entire entity if he could.
A small crack forms on the surface of the marble
HEY BE CAREFUL YOU MIGHT BURST

…
I haven’t done this in ages but-
*He begins fan-firing his revolver into the mess of tendrils, the bullets come out as blasts of white energy, fearing bangs following. After he empties the cylinder, he mutters.*
Actually, let me try something…
The tendrils dissipate into churning mist as they're destroyed by the fire serpents and bullets but more come through the doorway.
@fix-it-wizard you form a tornado from automata parts and bricks. Your strength surprises you. You could hit every tendril simultaneously. The tip of your dominant middle finger has disintegrated and bone pokes through.
@leadwizard your scout makes it through the doorway, destroying a tendril as it goes. Cloudy sky. A flash of lightning. Stormy seas. The presence is centered somewhere on the other side of the doorway. Splash into dark water and then gently on the sand near to the water's surface.
In the left hallway you found
Precious metals.
An obviously evil gilded box - not cursed, just evil. It contains a severed pinky finger, warm to the touch
A set of two small mirrors - one only shows things that aren't there, the other only shows things that can't be seen
A golf ball sized faceted moissanite orb - it glows with a soft inner light
A deed - it grants it's owner the property even through the changing of laws and nations
A stone worn smooth - it's so smooth it hurts to touch, like the opposite of grabbing a knife blade
A wood & ivory wand - made as perfectly as a stradivarius
And many other incredible things
In your greed you expected more treasures down this hallway, but instead of a vault you found a prison
Alright, no clue if this will work but…
*He pulls out an ingot of the metal he found here and begins morphing it into the appropriate pieces to make bullets, powder floats in the shells, and magic, that of the space variety is loaded into it.*
I’ve never actually worked with space magic before or this kind of metal, so I’m not sure what these bullets are going to do, but here goes nothing.
Anyway, here’s a gift from my boss.
*He loads the bullets and fires*
Instead of mist like before, the tendrils are blown apart into gore. Your revolver glows white hot at the muzzle to cherry red at the cylinder. No more tendrils come through the door, but the Presence remains
The Sorcerer takes advantage of this and flies into the door.
The marble is now shining with prismatic light.
Through the door is a stormy shallow sea. Lighting flashes in the clouds overhead. The doorway is an empty frame floating just above the waves.
The Presence is even stronger here and the blinding cracks in your mind have grown together. Patches of your inner self are exposed to something from beyond reality. It wants something from you.
Well this certainly looks interesting, we went to another place via portal inside a place we went to via Portal.
NOW WHERE ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT?
You are wracked by pain. Visions of cages and chains flash through your mind. An obelisk intersperses these images.
Then the pain subsides, and you are a bird in flight. You feel the wind under your wings as you soar over a calm sea.
You return to presence in your own body.
Lighting flashes and you see the silhouette of the same obelisk ahead
Wait, this reminds me of the time I fought an extra-dimensional being with my boss, we couldn’t beat it so we ended up just striking a deal with it.
Maybe we could try talking?
You're welcome to try, i for one am VERY ready for a fight if that fails, it's been SO long since I've had a Proper challenge
( @hat-of-knowledge we will need your narration after this one)
HELLO GREAT CREATURE!
*He attempts to project his voice as loudly as possible*
I HAVE COME TO BARGAIN!
The obelisk sits unmoving as you approach. The waves dare not touch it and the water is dished around it. The sand beneath this floating pillar of basalt is dry. Runes are etched into the stone surface. A metal cage forms the peak and a fist sized uncut diamond hovers in the center of this cage.
You receive two visions. The first is of the obelisk broken into pieces and resting in the sand below the waves. The second is of you safely back home.
Sympathy fills the Sorcerer’s heart. Truthfully, ever since he escaped the Bag of Magic Marbles, he has been more like this presence contacting them. He donned fine raiment to appear corporal, but he is not and never will be again. He too is a creature of light and sound.
The Sorcerer commands the Obelisk to break.
And so too does the marble
Once again wards strain against you. This time you're so flush with the magical energy radiating from the diamond that the wards are brushed aside like cobwebs.
Cracks form and spread through the polished basalt, light leading out. The metal cage incandesces brighter than the sun. The world goes blinding white as something massive & amorphous goes roaring out the doorway.
-
The glowing gaps in your minds go dark and you find yourselves in a nearly empty plain room. A large diamond sits in the center on the floor. It is flawless except for a hairline crack. There is no evidence of the stormy ocean besides small crystals of salt stuck to the walls.
A moment of calm as the presence leaves.
Then, a resounding cacophony of glass orbs erupts from the space the Infinite Recursion Marble once occupied. They rush into the Sorcerer as the semblance of a new more humanoid body springs into existence. The form is quickly concealed by a hooded cloak that materializes from thin air.
The voice of @the-wizard-of-marbles echoes from nowhere.
“All the power of the Marbles.”
“I got my treasure.”
“Finally…”
*I summon my scout from before and reform it into the bar*
Well this was certainly something to behold...
So is there no danger left now or...?
I find it hard to believe that what defeated the Automata and skelly out there just.... up and left.
But anyways, @the-random-wizard-from-space keep the Ingots we found in the Vault.
I'll melt quickly melt the Automata outside and take those might need to use a bit more force to levitate all of that but that shouldn't be an issue.
*After that i stsrt to melt the destroyed Automata down and make VERY rough Ingots out of the Molten Material*
Ah, I can work the purities out of those with metalworking magic, it was what I used to make those bullets earlier. I’ll do that later though as I am more concerned about leaving.
A crack of lightning, and all those who wish to are teleported with the Sorcerer to the portal outside.
“Hurry! We’re almost out of time!”
Faint snoring comes from @sorcererest-sorcerer's pocket. Fermis has fallen asleep despite the chaos surrounding him.
The currently-dormant yeast blob clutches the small bag he previously found tightly as he snores. While he can carry his own weight in a literal sense, he hasn't proven himself very useful...
At the entrance to the vault, the doors been thrown from their hinges, and the Twins have been reduced to scrap
uhhhh....
This isn't good...
What the hell have we released...
"If you have to ask that question, then the answer is never good."
…
Yeah, I should resurrect my boss as soon as possible
“Let’s just get out. I’ve got the loot, and we can partition on the carpet.”
Let me just....
Melt another two Automata to get even more of this mysterious Metal...
Shouldn't take more then a few minutes, the forming into approximate Ingots is the most time consuming part
“If you don’t come now, you’re not getting any loot!”
I'd suggest the Metal wizard doesn't threaten the one standing in a Pile of Metal Slag. That said, i'll cool it down, which is done exactly.... now, and then i'll be ready.
Again, I can manipulate metal, we can worry about refining on the magic carpet!
oh its already in Ingot from now, i just melted it down for ease of Transportation
With everyone back on the carpet, the Sorcerer flies it in a huge circle before shooting straight down through the portal just as it closes.
“We made it!”
Fermis climbs out of the Sorcerer's pocket, carrying the small bag. It's hard to tell due to him being mostly amorphous, but his movement seems more coordinated and he seems to have sobered up slightly.
...did I black out through that entire thing?
“Yeah… maybe ease up on the alcohol?”
...yeah, maybe... I hope I at least grabbed something good...
Fermis opens the bag, revealing it was full of some sort of powder. He stares for a moment, then sighs.
...well, coulda been worse... I coulda just come out with nothing!
“Anyways, how do we partition the loot? I’m taking a share and a half.”
“I want nothing, save for a few ingots to experiment on. I got a huge power boost from whatever was trapped in that prison. That’s more valuable to me than any trinket.”
...I'm only gonna t-take what I grabbed... and maybe whatever nobody else wants...
“Then dalob takes a share, same for legal, replacement takes one half because he was here for one half, @immoral-wizard takes one, and vell takes two for, you know, GIANT HEKKING TORNADO. It’s a free-for-all on the leftovers.”
*I examine the spider-like model from earlier, looking for flaws in my technique.*
"I'm not taking a share. I didn't join the mission for the reward. I was here for something else."
“Well you helped, and you deserve one.”
"I did like one thing, which was to turn that robot into a bug."
“That was cool, you deserve it.”
"Alright fine, if you all insist. I really don't need it though. Thanks."

I could break all the laws of ethics and create my own warcrimes I don't know what you're saying.

No I mean the laws of physics. I've never paid a single taxes, why would anyone follow the laws of the universe?

Sure.
*joyfully stress paces with you* :3
*unhappily stress paces beside you*
Hm. I don't feel like you're properly enjoying this.
That's because it's stress pacing.
I was like you once. Stupid, ugly, slightly dumb too. But then I started verbally abusing random strangers for no reason under the guise of giving them advice, and I'm worse now. The moral of the story is I forgot what it was. What are you stressed about?
.... Nothing.
Are you lying or are you mentally ill in a way that causes near-constant internal suffering?
Both.
Wow, me too! Smoke weed maybe
Sounds nice but I don't know where to buy it.
Idk at the plant store?
I don't garden.
Woah buddy, weed is legal in some places. Smoke crack. It's cooler, and worse for you.

I once again find myself on the squid and weevil side of pintrest

Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Stay clear!
(Ooc, @hat-of-knowledge can we have some loot narration?)
Don't overwhelm yourself RIGHT NOW

Huh. Sorry I wasn't much help at the end there; like I said, I'm not much of a fighter. Still, I hope you found something useful there.
Eh don't worry about it, not everyone is a fighter, you are a proficient scout however.
Well anyways, whatever we set free will DEFINITELY not come to haunt us in the future...
Nope, never....
Right...?

i am suffering academically
