The Rightful Heir

Hello Everyone: Today I want to talk about the relationship between a daughter and a father. I already discussed the crucial importance of a dad (Please bear with me for the next few minutes because you are about to read the most self-indulgent column I have ever written and as I’ve been writing these for the past few odd years, that’s really saying something). I also want to talk about Marvel and its writers because, like most of you, something caught my attention.

The matter first came to my attention when I read X-Men Red by Al Ewing. In fact, one of several ways it came to my attention was the exclusion of Polaris from Magneto's death in X-Men Red #7. Instead Magneto dies in Storm's arms. WHAT?

Ain't this kind of ridiculous? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Magneto dying in the arms of someone other than his own daughter. I'm sure Cullen Bunn would have portrayed this differently.

How did Magneto die? Well, in X-Men Red #5, Uranos ripped Magneto’s heart out, but he used his powers to make the blood flow throughout his body. With the help of Storm, Magento stayed alive long enough to defeat Uranos and defend Arakko.

Magneto dies and doesn't want resurrection. Even without the backups, he’d come back but Magneto refused. One thing he did not refuse was to leave his daughter behind. That was the first that drew my attention. The Second was when Magneto has Storm make him a promise. He asks her to watch over Xavier. WHAT? Am I missing something? A concern for Xavier but not for his daughter? I'm sure in his mind Lorna is a strong woman and can take care of herself but still. Magneto's death should mean a lot more to Polaris than it did to Storm. The funny part is that not only does Polaris show no sign of sadness, but the whole X-team hasn't shown any sign of grief. At this point, Magneto didn't get a proper funeral, to say the least.

Ewing couldn't even bother to have Polaris's name mentioned in his book. It also struck me that he acknowledges Wanda and Anya as Magneto's daughters but not Lorna? If I understand correctly, Polaris is the only biological daughter of Magneto who is still very much alive. So instead Ewing had Magneto be concerned about Xavier's well-being but not a single concern or message for Lorna? I would hate to postulate why this could even be. I was so confused because Magneto (as well as all the others) was so out of character. The dynamic between a father and daughter is one of the most heart-warming and intense bonds.

Fathers are their daughters’ superheroes, right? They can do anything to bring a smile to their daughters' faces, making father-daughter relationships unique and wholesome. Cullen Bunn did this when he put them together to have dinner like father and daughter would. Taking her out for dinner, offering her ice cream, etc. The bond reflects the daughter’s personality, which develops through the various stages of the girl’s life. A father’s influence helps shape the daughter’s upbringing and life, so it is essential to protect this relationship. But Ewing only went to destroy the dynamic between father and daughter (just like Leah did) that Bunn created and made it look like Polaris wasn't Magneto's daughter or that she didn't even exist. From my perspective, Ewing made it look like Magneto never cared about Lorna. I don't think he likes Polaris or perhaps he doesn't understand or have the ability to write her? The way I see it, Al expressed his characteristic through Magneto, period.

Also, is it just me, or does anyone else feel like "_ and the Brotherhood of Mutants" would be a more appropriate title for the daughter of Magneto? POLARIS and the Brotherhood of Mutants? I guess the question is why Al thinks this position is a good fit for Storm? As X-Men's Sins of Sinister event arrives, Storm is leading the new mutant Brotherhood with a costume redesign that puts her in Magneto's role.

Not only did Ewing take the rights away from Polaris but gave Storm an aspect of Magneto's costume and the base which is the same as Asteroid M except this one is Asteroid S instead of Asteroid P, lol.

I don't like the idea of Storm carrying Magneto's legacy. I don't like the idea of Storm taking over a title that belongs very much to Polaris. I don't like the idea of Storm inheriting Lorna's rights and stealing her throne. I don't like the idea of how Al Ewing is making Storm have the right to take over as if his biological daughter wouldn't matter to him or Magneto or Lorna's fans as a whole. I don't even like the idea of Storm mocking Polaris by taking everything that she has worked hard for during her time with her father. I don't care if this takes place 10 years or 100 years or 1000 years from now. As the rightful heir to an inheritance, Polaris is considered the most logical to have the right to receive assets from her deceased father. Ewing clearly demonstrates to us that he thinks Polaris has nothing to offer. Well, if I'm honest, I think it's a big mistake on his part. I am curious as to what Al had in mind for this story because based on his writing, you might conclude it just doesn't feel authentic.

Let's talk about who we expected to take over after Magneto's death in X-Men Red and let's face it, we all know the Queen of Mutants is the rightful heir to do so. You see, Cullen Bunn (using Bunn again because he has more respect for Polaris and continuity) gave Lorna the right to lead the mutants after Magneto died from the Terrigen mists 5 years from now, in the not-too-distant future (from when it was written).

Polaris spoke like a leader. She spoke like the Queen of Mutants. She spoke like her dad and stood up for what she (and her dad) believed. I believe Polaris is the best suited to this role. No question. There are many reasons why. She and her father went through thick and thin together. She helped her dad on many occasions. She helped her dad keep Genosha in place. She saw firsthand Genosha's genocide (just like her dad). She more than anyone understands Magneto's philosophy of "look after your own." She will do ANYTHING to protect the mutants. She put her life on the line for the sake of her fellow mutants. She will not get stabbed in her back, lol.

How can Ewing not know that? Doesn't he know how important it is to follow continuity? Was he not allowed to use Polaris for his useless story? And got mad? Storm is not Magneto's daughter and has no right to act like it. He has an anti-Polaris going on in his book. Ewing's writing is awful. Bunn would have done this better, respectfully. Marvel should've handed X-Men Red to Cullen Bunn, given that he was fantastic in X-Men Blue. He was also awesome in his Magneto solo series. Let me show you a panel where Magneto practically told his daughter he will not let her die with him because she has great things to offer this world. Obviously, she will be his legacy.

Bunn did so many good things for Lorna. He left so many open doors for her that I hope one day he can return to work for Marvel and finish what he started. I'm sure he had more plans for Lorna and good ones.

Anyways, I think it's time for me to give my thoughts on Al Ewing as a whole. So what do I think of him personally? Well…. I think he’s kind of an overrated writer. He is legitimately a bad writer. He's not even mediocre and his odd and mentally disturbed thinking that Storm should be the one to carry the title that very well belongs to Polaris is very beyond belief. The problem is that Al Ewing is kind of lazy about continuity. Perhaps he was not allowed to use Polaris, as she's been busy with other writers lately. Perhaps he's a fanboy of those he writes. Perhaps he's a troll trying to hurt Lorna's fans. One thing is for sure he's a terrible writer who tries to erase Lorna from her right to lead a legacy that many of us long to see. We saw it with Bunn and a few others how she's the rightful heir of the House of M. Even Magneto told her she represents the House of M at all times. It’s straight-up fact that Al Ewing isn't that good with events. The majority of his comic book series aren't memorable. And finally, the reason why he’s overrated is because of Immortal Hulk. Sorry Immortal Hulk Fans, but it's true. You can't say that Al Ewing is a great writer when you only read ONE of his series and ignore the rest. You need to read the majority of his series to understand. Just like X-Men Red is getting TOO MUCH credit for nothing when he didn't give anything to their fans. He couldn't give a fair battle to Vulcan and Storm. The first time Storm beat Vulcan was because according to Al "she only fought the shell…"

I guess now we can say Storm is being used generally to benefit the main character. She's representing Magneto and that's how we unfortunately see her. Especially since she's not related to the man she's representing it's even more obvious she's the extension of Magneto and not herself. Again, it doesn't feel authentic for the character. Polaris, on the other hand, would be a natural choice. Polaris is the actual rightful heir, do you think she'll be GOOD at the job? Of course, she's extraordinarily powerful, and the truth of her origin lies deeper than what we had thought. She was the next legitimate heir to the throne after Magneto. The crown is her right. She earned it.

Then we have Stephanie Williams (I don't know who the hell she is) having Storm visit Scarlet Witch with her not having much to say about Magneto's death, let alone Polaris. We know this was a setup to say "Storm can do magic" and nothing more.

Storm went to inform Scarlet Witch (who is not Magneto's biological daughter) how Magneto died. Shouldn't she tell Polaris first? Telling Wanda "if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to reach out." WHAT? Since when does Wanda need the X-Men? Hasn't Storm considered how Polaris might feel about her dad's death? Has she considered her feelings at all? Knowing what he did is something Polaris would have admired and been proud of because she would have done it too. Sacrifice her life for others. You know when you feel really unsure about what to say or think about? As confused as you may feel in those moments, you're not. You have much more clarity than you think. But I am a little confused about how to proceed with this.

As far as I know, neither of those writers cares about the existence of Polaris. Ewing is a disgrace to Lorna's fans and acting like Polaris is not enough for the role that is specifically made for her is more than a big slap on her fan's faces. Polaris is an incredibly iconic and powerful mutant in her own right, already an established leader of the X-Men, X-Factor, Starjammers, etc, and former Princess of House of M as well as Queen of Mutants. Enough already; for shame, Ewing.

What a coincidence that this also caught my attention. I want to be clear that I didn't sign up for that. I don't want Storm taking anything from anybody. I understand your frustration and you have every right to be because reversing this situation I can imagine how crazy the other side would be. Like I am right now.

I, for one, don't like what Marvel and the writer are doing with Storm. I also disagree with Storm taking over a burden to carry that has nothing to do with her. She has enough of her own and I mean Arakko. That's her place. Not a legacy from a crazy man like Magneto himself. Marvel is not being original with Storm. I agree entirely. 100%. This is why I don't hide what Marvel did wrong with Storm. I'm the opposite of those in denial.

So, now I see a few people spewing the stuff they used to spread about Polaris. Yeah. I get it. I get how Storm's fans dismantled her a lot in order for others to look at Storm. I never believed any of that negativity. I'm with you. Polaris is an iconic character. My guess is that Marvel is probably keeping her away from men. Have you noticed Polaris and Havok have been separated for over a decade? Have you noticed Polaris and Magneto are not close since X-Men Blue? Fortunate for her fans that Marvel's probably keeping her away so she can be herself. She's been doing quite good so far.

Now Marvel is using Storm to be Magneto's shadow. To carry his burden. To represent a man who is not even related to her. Be happy that is not Polaris. Everyone thinks Al is doing amazing with those characters and he's not. Lucky you Polaris is not one of them. Marvel chose Storm to lead three pointless books in return to carry Magneto's burden. And all for what? Storm ended up betrayed and stabbed by Mystique. Now Storm is using a chair like Professor x. At first, I thought it was her throne but little did I know it is Storm's hoverchair. So, now, she represents not only Magneto but Xavier too? *facepalm*

There is so much wrong here. So much for "Black History Month" and all Marvel can give us is this crap? Plus Bishop: War College? Where they blackwashed all the original X-men? What makes them think we're happy with that? How about bringing some original black powerful characters. Bishop is from the future. I'm sure Marvel can come up with new black characters. You know what? Prepare for another discussion about what I've been holding all these years. This is not the place.

The ruin of Ororo Munroe

Allow me to bring you a handful of mistreatment of our African character, Ororo Munroe. Not much to discuss, since nothing is that important to discuss. Especially when it comes to Storm. Hopefully I go small on this one but if I went further it’s because revelation of her treatment didn’t let me shorten the bull.

Marvel lately is giving Storm an incredibly poorly depicted role whereas Jean seems to be the bad-ass of this new era. Jean now is the Marvel Girl of Marvel ever since her return. She now leads the X-men in every book she’s in, while Storm sits back taking orders. This is not my base assumption, this is reality, people. Jean is the star of Marvel and Scarlet Witch comes second. I must admit that giving Scarlet Witch a tv show of her own was unexpected. So yeah, those women seem to be Marvel priority. Although, Polaris can easily fit in this category given that Marvel owns and participated in part of The Gifted show. Let alone being useful in comics. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jean gets a show of her own as the 05.

That’s not the reason why I’m here wasting my time on this page. The implication here is obvious. They care so little about Storm right now. In the event of “Hunt for Wolverine”, Storm was included with barely a role. The main story isn’t all that fascinating regardless, as the reason for Storm being treated like trash. All the ladies searching for Logan have a specific reason for wanting to find him, as this issue clearly demonstrates. Each x-woman has a flashback that details her special relationship with him. Psylocke's turn as the point-of-view character, flashing back to dishwater-shallow memories of Logan while Storm gets one panel of her flashback. All the others get a meaningful of 2 to 3 panels.

Storm was captured and excluded through the whole event. Her use on Mystery In Madripoor then proceeded to mostly treat her as a supporting character for the stories of other female characters around her. Did I mention she was easily defeated by a Z list character called, Mindblast? Here I thought she has strong telepathic resistance.

Yup! Storm was defeated and she was captured since issue #1 till the end of the issue #4. Reason being Storm doesn’t have strong telepathic resistance.

Storm was shown being thrown like trash by a z list character, guys. A Z LIST CHARACTER was humiliating and trashing Storm. There she was kept as a prisoner and useless through the whole story. What could have been great story arcs for Storm ended up being lesser, extremely limited plot points for a story arc dedicated mainly to Psylocke, Kitty, and Wolverine.

And then of course, there’s this fucking panel.

Do we need to know Storm is claustrophobic? A mental illness that was told to us zillions, if not, gazillions of times. Not only did Marvel keeps mocking us but they brought it up, yet, again

I understand the reason Storm is so claustrophobic is that she was trapped under the rubble of a demolished house with decaying corpse of her parents for about 3 days. What can I say, this is Claremont for God’s sake. Did I even mention how often they used this shit over and over?

In the story of Typhoid Fever: X-men, Storm was treated horribly aside from her claustrophobia. Marvel had Storm crying for over a man, Bishop, who was seducing Jean.

Storm ran crying like a baby once she found out Bishop cheated on her. Little did she know Typhoid Mary attempts to manipulate Storm as well as the others in her own twisted soap opera. Nothing was real. While Jean tried to explain the illusions they were surrounded in (as she was the only one who noticed the obvious), Storm kept whining about “you stole my man” blah blah blah. Sorry.  She sounded and acted so ridiculous. What an embarrassment. Because of Storm whining, Jean lost concentration to defeat Typhoid Mary.

The drama doesn’t end here.

When Jean lost concentration, she went all out at Storm and started attacking her. So, pretty much they were fighting over Bishop. Storm even went on attacking Bishop where we can see her lightning didn’t do anything to him. She attacked him for “cheating” on her. Storm succumbing to this trash is actually embarrassing; more embarrassing than any other character.

How hilarious that even Spider-man was shown choking Storm. What a humiliation. We can’t even deny how trashy Storm was here.

Humiliating Storm doesn’t stop here. In the new Fantastic Four, Storm was shown to be one of the members to be brought to another universe by Reed in order to stop some crazy planetary bitch. At first I thought Storm was going to be useful and got happy to know she was part of the mission.

What I didn’t understand was how Wolverine came along to this mission. Isn’t he somewhere captured or hiding or even dead? I don’t follow up on Wolverine so I don’t know what’s going on. But what I do know is that Storm appeared to be gazing at Wolverine while her ex-husband is right behind her gazing at her. Awkward! Strange how Storm or Wolverine didn’t say a word to each other. Same with Black Panther. It felt so out of character. Nevertheless, it makes sense to take a few precautions since she would only become a wallpaper next to Wolverine and Black Panther. Just a little reminder that those are not the only men in her life. She has had many lovers and most were only to support those men in those stories (I will further this on another blog). Black Panther is one of those huge examples where she was treated as a wallpaper.

Speaking of wallpaper, Storm in this event ended up just that, a wallpaper. In FF #3, she was behind the whole time with only 2 or 3 lines.

In this panel you can barely see her. She’s right behind Reed taking orders. That’s all she’s been doing lately, taking orders from Reed, Kitty, Jean, etc. How unimportant Storm has become since Extraordinary and IVX. She was brought only to be planted on the background. A wallpaper planted by Marvel to you/us.

She only appeared in 4 panels total as a wallpaper. Not even as a supporting character UGH.

So out of those 4 panels, this is all she gets to say? Obviously, Storm in FF is irrelevant.

Here, also, it is important to distinguish what is relevant from what is irrelevant in the line of criticism represented by these writers. I rather act like this never happen and the less they are in our minds the better. I should’ve known better when it comes to Marvel/Storm. She deserves better than just being a wallpaper. I'm so sick of this. It is so disheartening to see such a character constantly go to waste and that’s nothing compared to what comes next.

Here are the mutants, and their superpowers, that make up the team.

How delightful of Marvel for introducing a new article about the upcoming new Uncanny X-men where we see Storm's head slashed because this is Marvel.

Jean gets to be the center of everything alongside with Kitty, Havok, Rogue and Storm who are possibly the leaders for this upcoming event. I can be wrong. Maybe the slash indicate something more sinister? Maybe they’re the one who might die? Here's how Marvel describes the story: "X-MEN DISASSEMBLED brings together nearly every mutant left on earth in a story that threatens to destroy them – an epic tale of mystery and tragic disappearance, with an adventure so earth-shattering, it could very well be the X-Men’s FINAL mission!"

So Marvel’s interpretation of an event is to bring all those that are active in one book and start dismantling them? Are they going to go against each other? Is Marvel killing them? This scares me a little since Storm’s head has been cut off for some reason. Maybe they make you second-guess that Storm is not the big thing in this event and that her experience is going to drive us where she was mindhacked dozen of times by the Shadow King? Storm has history upon history with the Shadow King possessing her mind and using her to go against her fellow mutants. The way Marvel treated Storm recently makes me wonder how she’s gonna be treated for the new event. If I had to guess, I’d say Marvel is teasing us. You cannot always look on the bright side. If you look on the bright side of things, you're optimistic. It can be tough to be optimistic when everyone else is complaining about Marvel. You can't have a positive outlook all the time, even with the help of that “she’s the only AA (black) so she’s safe for now”. Just because Storm is black and she’s in the “front center”, doesn’t mean she’s going to be save while thinking those that are farther back are a bad sign and are going to get killed somehow. Being overly optimistic can make you lose touch with what is realistic. Marvel can mock us in believing the front characters are safe but it can end up the other way around. What if they’re fooling with us? What if some of those on the back are the significant ones for the upcoming event? The trick can be right in front of our face.

Let me put it this way: Today the Extermination #1 came out. We get to see the original five together with Bloodstorm from the AU. YAY?

It was so good to see Bloodstorm in this event. It was revealed that Cyclops and Bloodstorm were having a date at a restaurant and everything seemed to be going just fine until

UGH. The problem with this was, of course, unforeseen. I did not expect Marvel to have Bloodstorm killed straightaway. It’s a shame and proof that Marvel undermined Storm many times. Fans wouldn’t dare say it, but you need to admit she’s not what many people intended her to be. I see no “high pedestal” nor do I see Storm being treated “better” than any other characters. I mean, LOOK AT HER laying dead in cold blood. They care so little about Storm.

Yes, she’s fucking dead...can you believe that? No? Let me make this page more clear for you.

Look at her: she’s disintegrating from the inside out. Just like when a vampire gets killed they start fading away or turning into ash.

Marvel brought Bloodstorm just to have her excluded from this book as a whole. Sadly we won’t see Bloodstorm from this moment on. I will not be surprised in the least if Marvel doesn't offer an explanation for her death but I think I get the reasoning behind this. What a complete waste of a character. This is so evident that Marvel is treating Storm like she doesn’t matter anymore. If they killed the original Cyclops, Jean Grey (but brought her back after many years), Banshee and now old Cable what doesn’t make you guys think they won’t kill the original Storm in the upcoming book of Disassembled? Marvel is trying to screw Storm over and making her seem less valuable because even those that are placed in the front center can also be mistreated and even get the short end of the stick just like you’ve seen here. Although it seems to me those on the back are more safe than those on the front. Let’s hope it’s not what I’m thinking. Because we have Storm’s head slashed and Bloodstorm dead. I don’t think that’s a good sign.

Why Storm is not Omega-Level Mutant. Welcome to the official disbelief.

You are allowed to bitch, cry, scream, deny and even put a blindfold to cover your eyes from seeing the reality. But for now, you can lay down and relaxe and enjoy the post. Denial sometimes actually works. Is the refusal to accept reality or fact, acting as if a painful event did not exist. Just remember wherever you are, you will be able to see it. Please concede….because this is getting tiresome.

I like Storm just like some of you but sometime you can’t refuse other things and think like it never existed. My post is about Storm vs ? That said, canon, non canon, Earth 616, non Earth 616, regardless they’re all Storm. But here, you will see that I do care a little for what you think. I’m putting up the best gallery show, ever.

Let’s begin with why she’s not Omega. So, why isn’t she Omega? Well, to be more specific, she has LIMITS.

Barnacle is a mutant from the Acolytes team. His mutant powers allow him to turn any type of moisture into a hardened shell and more. He can use this ability to encase people with their own bodily fluids and more. Hoping to capitalize on Storm’s claustrophobia, Barnacle jumped her and quickly began to encase Storm. Storm definitely struggled with Barnacle. Thanks to Nightcrawler for saving her.

We know for a fact Rogue can sustain any power she absorbs from others. I see Storm struggling on her knees.

Despite what the Storm fanbase would like to believe, War Machine wins. War Machine who is way weaker than Iron-man tanked her attacks.

Ain’t that’s the chick Storm was dating? Well she got her ass kicked by that chick.

Oh yes it counts. Despite This Polaris was a robot but she has exactly everything from the original Polaris.

She did tie Storm in a knot and was about to fuck her up. Thank God she’s not like Storm who would’ve done it without thinking about it. It’s safe to say that in Gifted, Polaris seems stronger on screen than Storm has ever been.

Crystal is an Inhuman and a Princess. She can also manipulate weather except she has the power of full control of the 4 elements. She’s a weather witch.

Despite this was only a robot she couldn’t even beat that shit. Can you imagine the original Thor? She’ll be stomped.

We know there was another incident and a very interesting one where they were facing each other and Storm stumped her. Here is another incident where Chandra was paying back lol. She did fuck Storm’s up badly. You can see blood coming out of her mouth. I guess payback is a bitch  LOL.

Storm vs Magneto

Magneto is stronger than Storm and we all know it. Magneto reacts with the speed of thought. What is more powerful than this shit alone? And as we know there are more incidents

Storm only charged Magneto’s power with her own lightning. Storm using her lightning is defenseless against Magneto. Same can be said for Polaris who can absorb electrical energy to make herself more powerful and we know it.

and believe me there are more incidents but this would be enough to make myself clear that between Storm vs Magneto….Magneto wins. No contest. Despite Storm winds and “holding herself back” she still lost battle.

Storm and Callisto had a long history of fighting each other. It’s true Storm beats Callisto but usually Callisto gets the upper hand first. Storm did beat Callisto here but it wasn’t until after she was defeated first. My point exactly is that Storm got stumped big time.

Mosaic is from Inhumans and he can project from his physical body as a being consisting primarily of a previously unknown form of energy. He easily took Storm’s body. Naja thought it was the actual Storm so she started beating her up LOl.

Yes, Storm got Angel but what she didn’t know is that Angel also got her.

Ok. In extraordinary X-men, Storm was so incompetent and was getting beaten every second. She was getting beaten by a group from limbo. Her body was used against her will (like possessed if you ask me). Oh boy. I will name this Storm vs Hell LOL

I’ve decided now is a good time to get more data-intensive about it to make my point. That includes Storm getting beat up.

Here are a lot of panels speaking for themselves. Ever since Marvel and Fox went beef on each other, Marvel's been destroying the X-men franchise. I will use storm for this indication because Marvel’s bias against Storm is a result of Marvel’s ongoing “subtle” attempts to screw her over. In recent comics I read, Storm was depicted to be losing a lot of battles. After the battle with the robot Thor, Storm lost her top notch fighter. After that, she become progressively worse. This humiliation has eroded what confidence Storm has. The idea of the Shadow King was atrocious. Storm’s mind was already being heavily manipulated at the time to make her act so out of character. I don’t trust Marvel. They’ve repeatedly ignored, wasted or deliberately undermined Storm’s potential. Although Storm is a very strong woman, physically and emotionally, she has one major weakness — her claustrophobia. I really don’t think I can overstate the negative impact that having Storm interact with her disorder had on my ability to trust the potential good of Storm on her future comic.

I understand fans usually use panels to prove their point but so I was right about Marvel undermining Storm. My one little problem here is that Storm’s fans think she can beat Jean and I know this is all fanbase. I don't see Storm beating any version of Jean in my opinion. Jean has the best offense and defense against Storm (according to Marvel). Jean can easily use her TK to take storm out. Storm doesn’t have a very strong mental defense against telepathy. She has history upon history with the Shadow King possessing and manipulating her. Evidently she doesn’t have strong telepathic resistance. I feel like Marvel took all the best she was in order to make others look good.

Everything I just listed previously could be done with Storm to make her a top notch fighter and not just a damn good leader, but a nearly perfect leader. She just gave up her leadership because of what happened in IVX. This is a way of marvel telling us she can’t handle it. Marvel really went in putting others above Storm. The Extraordinary is just one simple example to see how Magik managed to be untouched while Storm was heavily beaten. I just don’t know where else to go to deny the fact that Storm is not now, nor ever was, omega level mutant.

The first episode of The Gifted was really good! I was so happy to see Polaris would be making it into a live action X-Men project and I’m even happier that it was great! Her characterisation was good, the actress playing her was good, overall I’m really excited to keep watching and see where this show takes her!!

This is actual proof that FOX can’t do Storm justice. While Marvel/FOX is defining Polaris better, it must in fairness be admitted that Polaris’s power was handled better than Storm and that she will never be displayed like Polaris WAS here ON the air. Despite the fact this was only a TV show, Storm who was played on the big screen didn’t do anything for me. If Polaris gets to go on the BIG screen, I’m sure she will be treated better than Storm just like they did with Magneto. FOX/Marvel can’t do anything right when it comes to Storm. The ONLY thing FOX did justice was in X-Men: Apocalypse where they introduced Storm in Africa as a thief. Also, She's extremely claustrophobic and her mental illness is part of her character and this can’t be erased. I have not seen that yet.

I’m surprised how the TV show turned out to be better than the actual films.

It seems that no matter what, Marvel doesn’t want to put Storm in a throne. As a “Queen” of Wakanda, She should be able to sit in her own throne next to her King. Instead Marvel is making Storm as a wallpaper. They also reminds me too much of the Black Bolt and Medusa where Medusa always stands next to her King. The difference now is that Medusa inherited the throne while Storm was kicked out of the kingdom UGH. This is another panel demonstrating how poorly Marvel is treating her during that time.

Here they are. Black Panther in his throne while Storm his wallpaper. I’m not gonna repeat myself on this forced marriage and break up. Those of you who don’t know why I don’t like the idea of them two together read my stuff. Why not put a throne for the “queen” next to the king? UGH this is bull.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for I will kindly explain the original concept of these characters.

Little do you know the characters you’re profoundly in love with are originally created in 1973 for DC comics so called “The Outsiders”. Yup! You read it right! Storm and Nightcrawler were created by Dave Cockrum for a group of heroes that he proposed as additions to the Legion universe. Storm and Nightcrawler were never originated in or created for Marvel universe. Here is the original team that never made it to DC universe. Only some did but definitely not these two.

DC never approved them. With Nightcrawler was that he was too weird looking and they couldn’t have weird looking character in their book. But when Marvel took him in, he was not mixed up a bit. They accepted him just the way he was. With storm it was more complicated. As much as I hate to say it guys, but Storm came from the quality of being crappy. At first “Storm” was created as Trio.

This was a big NO to DC since there were already a character with similarity ability called Triplicate Girl also known as Duplicate Girl. Regrettably she was also declined by Marvel as well. Dave had no choice but to refashioned her. She was born out of a combination of several concepts but the most owed to the character that was called Black Cat.

Take a look at Storm without the white hair and without the cape, and that's essentially the Black Cat. Of course, that was until Dave dig and found out there was already a Black Cat in the Marvel universe. Marvel still didn’t want another Black Cat. The transformation of this concept was horrendous to begin with. Looking at her hair makes me believe she was meant to be for Wolverine. Isn’t that a  coincidence?

Storm once again was refashioned with a combination of crappiness and that was when she was finally created.

Black Cat received Quetzal's long hair with the original Black Cat WHITE hair and Typhoon's powers and Typhoon's cape took the shape of Quetzal's wings and Storm was born. What a crappy thing to say about her creation.

Obviously Dave was a big fan of recycling. After through all these horrible designs, they debuted in Giant Sized X-Men #1 1975. As you can see she was created from many different parts of crappiness. I wonder if this is one of the reasons why Marvel treated Storm so differently. Look, I’m gonna be totally honest with you and it may sound pessimistic but Storm is only in the XM team just to bring black readers like me. Storm was not first created for Marvel so that can tell you something about Marvel toward her treatments.

Have you been reading Black Panther and the crew? Storm looks dreadful. Prey the Lord that she won’t become his rug and vanish once again. She’s not even brilliant in the X-Men Gold. She’s not a leader in the XM anymore. Marvel took that away from her. I can’t believe I’m buying that book. Consequently, I feel that my money has been stolen. Anyway, I’ll talk about this on another folio. This is more about the crappiness in the creation of Ororo Munroe.

Edit: The only thing I like about her creation is when Len Wein (R.I.P) introduced Storm as an African and dislikes her subsequent Americanization. Those of you saying Ororo is an American are EXTREMELY bigoted. Storm is not an American don’t even try that on me. She’s an African and yes, her dad (David Monroe) is an “African American” but that doesn’t change his heritage. It can be exciting to explore his heritage and see where his ancestors came from. I guess after finding out more about his heritage, he set out to vacation in his homeland, Africa, where he fell in love with Ororo’s mother (N’Dare Munroe). Anyway let’s not go any further. WHAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW: “Storm began as two characters, neither of which fit the new X-Men.” UGH. I was right about all the crappy creation. I hated just to think that "her” power wasn’t originally created for her. Old school people who grew up with these creators can see Storm and say “Storm got Typhoon’s powers who merged to create her and blah blah blah you can guess the rest. The funny thing here is that after all these shocking, unspeakable, awful processes in her creation, she ended up being a copy of Polaris aka Lorna Dane. Now I see why people are trying to play down Polaris.

The concepts created in this processes are very closely distinguished to Polaris. I’m talking about her glowing eyes, cape, Polaris’s power as her lightning form, green hair, white hair well you name it. People think the copy here is Polaris and I say the copy is Storm. Why so? Well, to be fair, Polaris was created in 1968 and Storm in 1975. I just can’t say the first creation is a copy of the second creation (even if I try to lie and make no sense) because it would make me look unintelligent, brainless, mindless, foolish who doesn’t know anything about numbers. If you don’t like the truth, then, go find someone who considers her/himself to be an illogical person. The ability to think logically is an important skill that you will use in any profession you choose, as well as in daily life. I just can’t lie about the reality of Storm’s being a copy of many different characters, as much as I love Storm.

Cockrum just didn’t know what else to come up with since he failed in both attempts. I wonder if he saw Polaris and Black Cat and said “wait a min” and here went a copy creation except that she was a black character and no one would’ve noticed. So here we are once again in the crappy creation of Ororo Munroe.
