Never underestimate the role of parents for a child. When given the option to write anything in her own language, Maimouna, 11, wrote "Papa mi f'ai" (Dad I love you) in Bambara. A 5 year old was so moved by her drawing that she asked if she could color the heart red. And then all of us together made a rap song with their words and names in French, Arabic, Bambara and English.
