Ahhh, the lovely bouquet my honey got for me for vday. :) Allergies for daysssss!! Just kidding haha, I was armed with antihistamines muahaha! I feel all giddy just looking at this again. I love getting flowers but I love spending time with my man even more. The flowers are just an extra treat! Maybe I should try to eat the roses....nah!

Being short at the gym

I feel like I'm part of the rare small crowd at my local gym. Everyone appears to be at least 5' 5" and I'm barely pushing the 5' 2" mark. It's not a bad thing, but when someone leaves the bar on the squat rack high up, I just tend to look up in awe and stare. Oh how I wish I could reach that bar so I can do my squats. haha

Today just reinforced my shortness! I was trying to adjust the hack squat machine and I couldn't even lift it to readjust the position. My feet were no where near the platform. hahaha Oh man, maybe I should bring a pair of stilettos with me to the gym now. At least several people got a good laugh out of my 5 minute struggle.

Oh me, oh my! I chopped my hair for a brand new look. I wanted to look different for an interview that I had this morning. I'm all about trying new things now and it seems to be working out for me. My interview went super well and it was far from what I was expecting. I had studied a lot different interview questions and thought hard about how I would answer them. To my surprise, the interview was focused on discovering my personality. They loved meee!! :) I just got a job offer and I'm so excited to get back on the work grind!

Lots of food for my mother's birthday! It was a two part celebration since everyone's schedule was whack. On the first day was BBQ and the second was a "whollleee lotta" seafood ! Mmm food in general mmmmmm. Feed me more!! I'm still thinking my mama looks darn cute for her age. Hopefully I'll be just as cute when I catch up. :)

What?! It's never cold where I live. Southern California spoiled us too much with it's never freezing weather. Having snow and ice last week in my neighborhood was so weird! It's nice and warm again, but I do miss bundling up. It's over 90 degrees Fahrenheit today! Such a big jump in winter haha.

I finally did it! I'm free from my underpaid and overworked internship! :) It feels so good to be done with it. Now on to my next journey.

I will admit, leaving my internship was hard. I kept making excuses for why I shouldn't leave because I was scared of the consequences. But that's life, sometimes you have to take risks and get out of your comfort zone for a new opportunity.

The New Year is around the corner, it's time to make it a great start.

I've been having a rough month and my bf surprised with me a beautiful bouquet of roses. They're so pretty!! He helps keep me sane and happy. I'm ready for anything with him around.

I'm working from home right now so I can get a headstart on tomorrow. I have a friend's birthday that I want to be a part of but I'm getting the feeling that my workload tomorrow won't let me leave the office early. Hopefully working right now will let me head out on time! At least I'm nice and cozy in the robe my sis got me haha. I've always wanted a robe!

In January, it’ll be exactly one year since I started my internship. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn new things and grow as a person. This was probably the best thing to happen to me since I got my degree.

However, I know it is time to move on. I have worked my hardest with what I have been given but there is no future with this internship. I need to start valuing myself more and seeking the opportunities and life I want.

If I stay, I will be forced to be an account executive, be overworked, and be underpaid. I came on believing I would be programming and have a shot of moving up. Life is too short to settle.

I want to be part of a company that is excited to get stuff done, respects and values it’s employees, and believes that success is a team effort.

I was supposed to be trained the entire time I’ve been at this internship but I have had to learn 90% of what I do on my own. When I ask for training or have questions, I have to fight for answers. I refuse to waste anymore of my time at a place that doesn’t care for me even after all the hard work I’ve put in for them. I let myself get taken advantage of for too long.

Thanksgiving 2014

This Thanksgiving my boyfriend and I celebrated with our families on Thursday and Friday. Our families really cook too much for small gatherings. Lucky for me I only eat the side dishes because of my awkward eating habits. CORN IS SO GOOD. Aside from eating we also spent time with our second family at Disneyland. hehe

I'm really happy that we were able to spend time with both our families and with each other! :) 

I'm thankful for everything I have experienced, everyone I have met, and the man and family I love.

As for shopping, we went together for the first time for fun. Well I believe it was the first time we went together, I can't remember going any time before that. We went after the bulk of the crowds to walk off the food and see if there was anything interesting. Turns out we finished the bulk of our gift shopping and our gifts to each other. <3

Wow, this new project really has taken a lot of my time and has tested my sanity. So far I think I've survived well enough that my CEO has been talking to me more. It's funny how calm I am talking to the CEO of my company or any other random person, but when it comes to talking to people I can't see on the phone, I get quite nervous. It's probably because I can't see any social cues without a face!

Well, one thing is for sure. I need to start bringing out the inner beast and being more aggressive. Apparently I'm too nice and agreeable, this has got to change! 

On a side note, I'm so buff now. haha just kidding, but I have gotten stronger these past few months with all of my working out. My goal is to crush a coconut between my arms.

New work challenge!

I've finally been given my own project to manage at work. I haven't been trained for this but they're still throwing me into the belly of the beast. It's my time to shine, right? Now I have to listen to all this motivational music that screams "you'll do it or else!". Maybe some angry Eminem will get me going. I'm scared, nervous, and excited all at the same time. It's a turducken of emotions, let's do this!

Woohoo! We celebrated another crazy year of being stinkers together. My bf surprised me with an amazing dinner at Carthay Circle in CA Adventures and of course a fun trip to Disneyland! Oh look at my captain america, ain't he swell? What did I get for him? A ton of stuff to get fat with. <3 nomnomnom all the way.

Last week we hoarded the arcades, ran into a teenie tiny kitty, and drank milk tea like pirate kings. Huzzah!
