Things I STILL don't understand about minecraft:
how it's decided whether saplings have enough "room" to grow. I know there are specific rules but that shit is so complicated ??????????
what pattern there is, if any, to where and how often villages generate. from exploring hundreds of seeds I've noticed that they frequently occur in straight rows along an axis in a world, but not always. I also don't know if there are limits to how close together villages can be. Most "adjacent" villages I find are 400-600 blocks apart measuring from "center" to "center" but I have rarely found villages as close as 250ish blocks apart.
how to exactly narrow down the location of buried treasure using a map, and how to excavate it without digging a 10x10 vertical column into the beach. supposedly they are only "rarely" found underneath stone. That is BULLSHIT
how shipwrecks and ocean ruins generate. Some of my worlds have them EVERYWHERE, but i've had times where i've explored oceans for a long time and encountered nothing.

What is going on with ghasts. Their hitboxes are infuriatingly small, and I've gotten hit by fireballs from ghasts that were outside render distance. They seem to render and de-render unpredictably
how piglins decide whether to kill you or not. They'll attack me even when I'm wearing gold boots sometimes.
Do creepers have an arbitrarily varying amount of health?? They sometimes take different numbers of hits to kill with the same weapon
Are dark oak leaves and oak leaves visually distinguishable at all??
Is it possible to stop wolves and foxes from spawning in an area in a taiga biome, or am I just fucked if I want to keep rabbits or sheep or anything
How do I harvest honeycomb from a beehive on the underside of a block without having it either pop out of the roof it's under where I can't reach it, or land in the campfire below where I risk setting myself on fire trying to collect it
How does the game decide how close to the player things have to be for stuff to...happen? Time is essentially on pause in areas well outside of where the player is, but the exact distance seems to vary between things.
e.g. I can be on the other side of my base and my wheat will still grow, but my chickens won't age or lay eggs. I can be farther away from my sugarcane for it to grow than I can be from my glowberries. Or that's how it appears??
Copper oxidation in particular only happens when I'm really close by. Like, if you build a really extensive base with a copper roof, your roof will be essentially a heat map of where you go in your base. Why
