I'm the one thinking about how Rocky's crew might have always joked about him dying first if something happened to the ship because he's the one close to their bomb of a fuel.

It's all in good fun.

Something I noticed while rewatching psych was that in the episode where shawn and gus have to work with the older versions of themselves (kinda, yk, peters and boone), in the flash back, it looked like Henry was Lassiter (he did the hard straight work but it didn't work out).

Made me wonder if lassie would raise his daughter like Henry. And if so, it would positively be his worst nightmare if she ended up like shawn.

You know from what we see of her in movie 3 she’s kind of a normal version of Shawn. She tries to trick Lassiter into doing her math homework and seems to have a fairly good memory/ deductive reasoning. But it’s also clear she loves her dad very much and vice versa so all in all I think Lassie must have been a far better dad than Henry.

I give Henry a lot of shit for his actions and his words past and present and will continue to do so but he was also dealt an incredibly hard hand

Lassie has a loving loyal wife by his side and a group of equally loving loyal friends that spent 8 seasons helping him grow as a person, that really set him up for success

Absolutely true! I cannot imagine what it would be like to be a single parent and a detective. His tendency to make legacy of shawn was horrible but man went through a lot. Especially since shawn had a tendency to bend the rules.

due to how legendary he becomes on Erid as the saviour of their planet (and how his form is otherworldly, incomprehensible, and frankly a bit gross) I wonder if Eridians say "Ryland Grace" in the same way one might use "Jesus Christ" as an exclamation. and then I wonder how Rocky might react to this.

Thinking about Stratt telling Grace to give her a list of possible replacements after Dubois & Shapiro died, despite HINTS of her making Grace their secret third replacement. She hid his coma-resistance gene result from him and made excuses as to why he had to test out EVA equipment. And yet despite all of that, she was asking Grace, even SCREAMING at him—the first time we ever see her do that in the book—for other people. Like fuck me, she was grasping at straws. She initially didn’t want him to go didn’t she?

I think she finally didn't want him to go. I mean, initially, making him do all this stuff, the coma gene secret all feels like she's gonna just put him on board. He was probably the first one on her mind.

Then she deviates. She has candidates who want the role who are capable. Okay, now she has to consider him as a human rather than a resource. And she does. He's her friend.

Then boom.

Now, who's the only resource available?

Rewatching and realized that during Sign of the Times, we all hear her singing the lyrics and contextualize it with the knowledge that Grace is sent to space. Just stop your crying, have the time of your life; we can meet again somewhere, somewhere far away from here. But while I'm sure Eva knows in the back of her mind that Grace could be sent to space, it's a far off enough possibility that she wouldn't be thinking about it. If we really want to hear it as *her* in that moment, I think she was thinking more about her being sent to prison for the rest of her life after launch and Grace going on without her. Remember everything will be alright. We can meet again somewhere. Somewhere far away from here.

My thoughts exactly! I imagine he fulfilled a role on his team rather similar to the one Grace performed during Hail Mary's development. Always there, always busy, always so intently focused on a task that from an outside perspective he just sort of began to blend into the background. But when we actually stop and take a look at how he works, how he engages in the few interactions with his collegues that we get to see, it is so clear how desperate he is for connections despite struggling to form them, how alone he is in every crowded room and how much easier things would be if someone else could just reach out first for a change. I think that's what makes Rocky and Grace such a good match from the start. They were always kind of lonely, even when they weren't alone.
