Okay, so, I just managed to figure out how to do a reply. Itâs not that different from what you would have to do in the last update that Tumblr did, but Iâll still include screenshots of how I managed to do it. Also to freakxnewxdance I hope you donât mind my using one of our threads to demonstrate this.
Alright, so here goes! What you want to do is pull up the reply the other person made and copy that personâs reply like so:
Then you paste your reply into the text box provided below. For the image, what you have to do is right-click on the image and select âcopy imageâ:
Paste the image into the reply and adjust position as needed according to where the icon was when your partner replied.
Then you go about replying as usual (since I already responded to this thread I just made a random thing tbfh). As a personal preference nowadays, I like separating my partnerâs reply from mine with one of those dividing lines on the Tumblr sidebar, like so:
and then go about formatting how you normally would and also delete the reblogs. If you want to add your partnerâs URL at the top feel free, though itâs rather tedious and would involve going into HTML to bring things back to normal, and for those who arenât experienced with html⊠itâll be tough. At this point I wouldnât worry about blockquoting because I have absolutely no idea how it would turn out if I did happen to blockquote, but until Tumblr either fixes this or X-kit finds a way to create an extension to have the option of going back to the old way, this is what I can provide to help you guys with.
Until notice from either side of the argument, I hope this helps, and happy RPing!
Just adding this--you can definitely still block quote just be careful to highlight only your partnerâs text after youâve already typed your response, and if you want to add your partnerâs url, just do it like a normal link-- type their url at the top of their section of the post, go to their page, copy/paste their last reply and then link it to their name on top of the post. Gets the job done at least.

Honesty, she wasnât sure how confident she was in his statement, wasnât sure about how easy it would be to get her home, especially considering that home was along way away from here. Looking at the ground for a moment Kate took a deep breath, sighed a little. âI hope so.â There were friends that were in danger, there were people that she needed to be there for, to help, she wondered how long it was she had been missing for. Was Clint looking for her? Would he spend forever looking or her, tearing the city and world from the bottom up looking for her? He always promised he would and the truth was nowâŠshe didnât want him to. She wanted him to spend his time doing his job and having a life. The idea of him searching for her when she was gone was a heavy thought to carry.
âDo you guys have like, windows?â Granted, it was a stupid question but who knew, what if they didnât? âOr would like the gravity escape?â It was an attempt at a joke but she saw the way one of them looked. âI was joking, donât worry Iâm not a total idiot. Though Iâm still trying to get my head around the gravity thing.â That was true at least. It was a little mind boggling.
âYou said we were in orbit around something, a planet I guess?â See she had been listening, even if she did look like she was staring at everyone dumbly. âCan I see it? Iâve never seen a planet from above beforeâŠ.well only in photos.â The idea that they were in space was just, well it was incredible and if she was hereâŠKate wanted to see it. âCan you see the stars are wellâŠNew Yorks got so much light pollution you canât really see anything, sometimes you cant even see the moon if itâs hazy.â
Brows lifted at her question. He supposed this wasnât the best area of the Enterprise with its lack of view ports, but the brig wasnât meant to be kind on anyone. Seeing any sign of escape tended towards a kind of hope. Jim brushed off that thought, offering a huff of laughter at her joke (and no, Spock did not find that particular joke amusing).Â
âWeâve got windows. I guess it would be kinda strange considering where youâre coming from,â Jim canted his head to the side in a faint shrug, âYou see, underneath our feet are gravity plates which are regulated by the generators. Because most of Starfleet personnel are from Earth, the gravity is generally that of the planet. But it could be modified. In the event the ship is damaged, itâs one of the last things to fail.â
Jim nodded, âYeah, itâs a planet. Alpha Cygnus IX. We just finished collecting some flora from its surface. Nothing major,â Jim shrugged and then glancing over at Spock as if for assistance he considered her question. âYou sure about that? Maybe you ought to give it some time. Get acclimated to the ship first and then weâll...â He paused trying to figure this out, âAh, what the heck? Weâll be passing some of the viewports anyway on our way to the Medbay--and before you say anything, I donât like going there either, but as Captain of this ship I have to make sure everyone on board is properly taken care of and that includes you, right now. Canât be sure if whatever happened to you didnât cause any unknown affects.âÂ
âNow, letâs get out of here,â Jim waved her forward, half turning toward the appropriate corridor.

It probably was still there, Kate guessed given itâs importance it would have been preserved, especially in a society where space travel seemed to be a thing. âThis ship must be pretty important to inherit the nameâŠâ  If anyone in this room knew what that was like it was Kate. Sheâd inherited the name Hawkeye, she was a Bishop, one half of her life was spent carrying the legacy of one of most loved Avengers and the other half an heir to a two hundred billion dollar company. She knew all about carrying legacies.
They probably thought her strange, but it occurred to Kate, that she was possibly one of the first humans to see all of this. That she was getting the chance to experience something that no one back home could ever have dreamed ofâŠand wasnât that just fucking incredible.
âKateâŠ.well itâs Katherine but you know, everyone just calls me Kate.â God why wouldnât her brain shut up? âSoâŠyour ship looksâŠshiny by the way, nice ship.â Oh god that was awkward. Super awkward. Hawkward. Kate wanted whatever it was under her feat to swallow her up.
âYeah, itâs kind of a lot important,â Jim agreed, but held back any elaboration. The Enterprise was the flagship of Starfleet, the first to embark on the five year mission they were currently undertaking. He thought it best to keep such remarks to himself until the woman was a little more balanced. Just being inside the ship was a lot to take in, he doubted she would be thrilled to hear how far from Earth they were.
Jim glanced around, a faintly amused smile on his face. He supposed the bright lighting did make the interior even more luminescent than it was normally. He nodded, ignoring Spockâs flat look.Â
âItâs gotten us out of quite a few problems in the past. The Enterprise is the most reliable ship in the fleet, with the best crew a captain could ask for,â He flashed a grin at his commanding officer before returning his attention on Kate. âNice to have you on board, Kate. Hopefully your stay wonât be too long, and we can get you back to your time without too much of a hassle.âÂ
emotiionisms:
âHey, no need to shoot the messenger. Iâm only here because Doctor McCoy asked me to check on you while I was near the bridge.â
If he wanted her to leave, she would go; TâVenna had enough work sitting on her desk in the Medical Bay already. However, she was concerned over his health.
âWhat does he think I am,â Jim said, less frustrated and more baffled, âsome kind of child?âÂ
He wouldnât be surprised if Bones did think of him as a child. He certainly doted on him like one. Jim shook his head.
âWell, you go tell him Iâm just fine, and he can stop worrying. Didnât realize I brought my mother on board.â
Actually, that was almost an insult considering he hadnât heard from Winona in literal years.
cellobowsandarrows:
He silenced her.
Not that he would have known it but, Kate Bishop never shut up. She always had a come back, a sarcastic comment, she was famed as the kid that could talk her way out of anythingâŠand here she was, unable to find words to describe exactly how insane all of this was. Kate just looked at him, took a small step back, bright blue eyes focused on him as she tried to process the idea that she was over two hundred years in the future. It wasnât the first time sheâd time travelled, call it an occupational hazard with the job that she did, except this was farâŠ.much further than she had ever been before.
The idea that humans were wondering around in space as if it was normal was a lot to take in. She turned way, brought her hands up over her face and mumbled something to herself, that sounded a lot like âthis is fucking badâ before she took a deep breath and tried to steady herself. There was no way she was having an emotional break down here, she didnât want to show them that she was scared. Kate Bishop didnât get scared.
âWell I assume this Enterprise at least flies?â Sheâs trying to cover up the wobble in her voice, except it wasnât perfect. Her hands held each other, trying to disguise the tremble in them and the fact it felt like her heart was running at well over 200bpm. Â âThe space shuttle Enterprise was constructed without engines or heat shields, it never actually flew it face, it was just for testing the approach and landing. They used to just fly it on the back of a 747 and drop it into the sky.â They probably didnât care, but she couldnât cope with the silence, with them all looking at her like she was some kinda fucking display in a museum. Some relic to stare at.
âItâs in a museum in New YorkâŠ.â
He noticed the signs; trying to hold it together when you were falling apart was a Kirk-expertise. It wasnât that hard to dismiss. Spock shifted beside him, canting his head to the side and Jim knew what he was going to say before he said it (âfascinatingâ). Jim opted to ignore him. The woman wasnât a threat, and there was no reason to keep her in holding, especially not in her current state. Jim gave a short nod.
âProbably still there, but I never have made a visit,â Jim said, âToo busy exploring other planets other than my own.... Anyway,â Because he knew picking the wrong words in this situation wouldnât do him any favors. He wanted to help keep her calm, not exacerbate her emotions. Talking about their mission would probably backfire. âIâm going to release you from the holding cell, but only if you promise not to freak out, okay? Weâre going to figure out what brought you here, and then try and see if we can get you back home. Shouldnât be too hard,â And if he was posturing, she didnât have to know that. âSo, you have a name we can call you?â
Jim gestured to Spock to release the force field keeping them on opposite sides. He took a step forward, uncertain how she would react now that they were no longer treating her as a prisoner. He still wanted to call down Bones if only to see to it that she really did only have a scratch (couldnât be sure if she might have endured worse through whatever means she had ended up so far into the future).Â
that threadâs gonna end like âkirk to dr mccoy im rescheduling that aneurysm, that ok with youâ
cellobowsandarrows:
At least there was people turning up, and now she didnât just have the guy in the corner staring at her constantly. Hell he must have been the size of a tank, Kate guessed he could have killed her with his thumbs. Taking a step forward, she guessed he was the guy in charge. What did you know, that line worked! He looked human, but what were humans doing on something like this in space? Even the accent soundedâŠ.American?  What was it Midwest? Kate just frowned at him, confusion crossing her face as she tried to work out what the hell was going on here. James? Okay definitely human.
âI donât knowâŠ.â It appeared they were in the dark as much as she was. âI was in New York.â She was willing to bet that they wouldnât believe that. Kate wouldnât have believed it either. âIt was like three AMâŠ.am I tripping here like, have I dropped acid or something?â Her eyes flutter to the men behind him, thumb killer still staring. âCan you ask Thumb Killer over there to stop staring at me? Itâs really creepy and heâs freaking me out.â She said it only to try and show case the accent a little, maybe it would put someone in the room at ease a little.
âI donât need a doctor, Iâm fine, itâs a scratchâŠ.looks worse than it is I promise.â A hand rubbed her temple, god she was starting to get a headache, this was a lot to take in. âListen, I know this sounds rude but I got some questions, are we in space, why are you in space? Humans donât go to space, and youâre American, and human I guessâŠa good looking hu-â She cut herself off. Not the time for that. âSince when the hell did humans go to space? They cancelled the space shuttle program, sure we have the International Space Station but you know, thatâsâŠ.and if weâre in space like Thumb Killer said, why are we not floating? People float in space.â
No Kate wasnât going to buy any of this.
âAlright whereâs the hidden cameras, am I on Punked? By the way MTV hidden camera set up shows were cool in like, 2005âŠitâs 2015 get with the times guys!â
New York? They werenât anywhere near Earth for that line to be even the slightest bit true. But then, how would she even know about New York, or Eath for that matter? And she sounded similar enough to the people heâd known from New York, although there was some differentiation to her accent. Like it was from a different era, and that definitely got Jimâs mind working at full speed. If she was getting a headache, he was going to end up wit ha migraine before this was all over.Â
âYou heard the lady,â Jim commented toward Cupcake, with an apologetic shrug. It wasnât like she was going to bust out of that cell any time soon. From how confused she sounded, Jim doubted this was an act. Spock seemed to agree, his brows furrowed just as intently as his captainâs. Complete silence followed her sudden flood of words and Jim knew for sure they were dealing with another anomaly that no one would be able to explain. Why was he always coming across time travelers (or stasis- but he didnât want to think about that right now). Wait, had she just been about to call him good looking?
âFirst of all, weâre not floating because that means there would be a serious malfunction with the generators, and I have no idea what MTV is--â Wait, 2015? Jim ran a hand down his face. Maybe someone could go back and time and tell his younger self to forget all about joining Starfleet. âLook, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but itâs not 2015. The yearâs 2260 and youâre on the USS Enterprise, currently orbiting Alpha Cygnus IX.âÂ
fuckyourmarkers:
âCaptain? At your age? ThatâsâŠimpressive.â
âYeah, well you know, Iâm just an impressive kinda guy,â Jim said, âYou are?â
