Work in support roles and sometimes randomly drop content around that.

Played several online recreations of both and get a little bit to into talking about those experiences.

I'm not going to ever initiate DMs because adult man and people can be (understandably) uncomfortable about that. If I don't reply to a DM then please don't take it personally. My mental space for DMs isn't always there with my work.

Kaito interrupting Shuichi's heartfelt speech by coughing up blood everywhere I'm sure wasn't supposed to be funny.

But it sure made me laugh.

They keep getting so close to the truth, but haven't pieced together that there's no reason to trust the flashback light.

I know I say it all the time but.

People don't go to their own funerals if they're trying to fake their deaths.

It just gets me because they never actually land on that as proof the memories are false (if I remember correctly).

Though also the inconsistencies of the Mech Bomb thing and the production team suddenly dropping the ball hard in Season 53 by giving Miu the tech gear to just... break everything is honestly baffling to me? Like... they've been running these games for a while. These are rookie errors. Both in terms of game design and their memories not holding up.

I enjoy the game but like... I am going to pay a lot of attention to the Chapter Six reveal. But also this is still better than DR2's inconsistencies (yes I went there, DR2 is my least favourite in the series).

So every trial in my V3 replay I've self-voted just because I like seeing the vote count come up being funny.

Chapter Five's finale does not let you self-vote. Or vote for anyone other than the culprit.

Though hilariously at the first fake vote you can do whatever you want so I voted Tsumugi for the funnies.

This season only makes sense in-universe if they were trying to get the show cancelled.

Did they playtest the Psyche Taxi minigame?

As Shuichi went in his own head I actually panicked that I'd have to drive the stupid imaginary taxi through his stupid imaginary head.

But also... given K1-B0 is the audience POV... does that mean the people at home actually just see Shuichi stand there with his eyes closed while everybody waits for him? The implication is that the show is live, since he gets the inner voice input. But like... is it in the same way Big Brother is live? Where you get the live feeds that diehard fans watch and then edited episodes? Or like the Hunger Games where it's mandatory viewing?

And like... Big Brother does live challenges. So presumably trials are live. So you still get to see Shuichi just sitting there pretending to drive a car in his mind. At least the arguments are people doing stuff.

This whole exchange and Kaito's voice taking over as a result of Monokuma's questions really are more interesting knowing the full picture.

But also like... sure, Kaito is following Kokichi's plan here. But he's still smart enough to know how to sound like Kokichi AND improvise around things. It's easy to write off Kaito as a dumb jock but like... no, he's actually very socially smart.

We also see that with how he always takes the blame for Shuichi's mistakes while praising him for his successes, and knowing that the night trainings are really the best way to help Shuichi and Maki have a healthy social outlet.

Most of those socially aware heroes do end up making very good antagonists in games like Survivor and Werewolf. Or pretending to be someone else to prove that Monokuma's power of the killing game is limited to discredit the entire game and get everyone sent home safely.

I like this bit because they bring it back in a way that feels natural, but reminds us so when we hit Chapter Six it'll be fresher in our minds.

Monokuma knows he's being played but is playing it cool and it makes this trial far more fun when you know what's actually going on between Monokuma and the Exisal.

I do like this visual as well.

Also Monokuma being like "are you sure it's Kokichi that's alive?" and saying "Mr Suspect" instead of a name because he has no idea what's going on either is great.

They just get really on the nose here.

But I won't complain about revisiting the best courtroom in the series.

Though also (and this may prove to not be true later, I don't remember specifics), but this season of the show specifically harping on the fourth wall has me think that the in-universe team were actually hoping the show would get cancelled here. Since they made so many choices that kinda... enabled this to happen. Which presumably they hadn't made before.

53 seasons is a weird number of seasons to do something like that, usually it's at a nice milestone. IRL Survivor films seasons in pairs. So the idea that 52 was a low rating one and instead of getting renewed for two they just got a final season, it would explain why they would leave 52 seasons' worth of case files in a lab that could easily point to the fact that 52 life-or-death games had happened AND the fact that they, again, ALL APPARENTLY WENT TO THEIR OWN FUNERALS.

No I will never let this game forget that they decided that nobody would think it weird that sixteen teenagers pulled a Jean-Ralphio Saperstein after faking their own deaths.

This story only makes sense if they wanted the show to end, to be honest.
