Let's talk about my random Meguru headcanons
As I've mentioned, I LOVE Meguru. He is my comfort character and I love him so much! His main story?? Read it more than 100 times at least. However... This last time I played it, it got me thinking.
When reading Meguru's main story and sequel, it was clear as day to me: he's a abuse victim. It mainly mentions verbal/mental, but there were also a few mentions of him being hit by his mother.
You may say, "that's obvious. It's a main point of his story." Well, yes. However I think it's one of the best examples of abuse in Voltage Inc. The abuse he endured helped create his inferiority complex. I also think it created his anxiety, and shape him into who he is today.
First things first, we gotta talk about the subject of his abuse. The main one being his mother.
His mother is power hungry, who only raised Meguru to take the throne. He mentally being verbally abused many times as a kid, not just by his mother but by other children who saw him as nothing more but the "mistress child". The main way they did this was by using Kakeru as a weapon. Constantly comparing Meguru to Kakeru as a way to put him down. As well as seeing this in the flesh, I think this built up his inferiority complex (feeling less than someone/like you can't ever be better than them due to insecurity). It's a very reasonable idea, and I think it's a good root for where his inferiority complex started.
Anxiety (specifically, panic attacks)
I think everyone has had some of anxiety before. It's only natural. However I think Meguru has more than anxiety. I think he has panic attacks.
I feel like he had panic attacks lot. He gets stressed out easily and constantly underestimates himself. The MC always assures him about himself and that he can indeed do it. I don't have too much information but as he gets overwhelmed easily I think it's a reasonable bet.
I truly believe one thing about Meguru and it's my biggest headcannon about him. I truly do believe 100% that if the main story were to play out with a man, it would go down the exact same way. No change whatsoever. I truly believe Meguru is pansexual. The personality matters to him the most and just like he'd want someone to love him no matter what his faults and ideas are, he'd want someone like that too. Man, women, under the gender fluid umbrella. I also feel like Meguru is the type of person who, as mentioned since he's so nervous, would be scared about coming out.
I personally thought a cute headcannon where Meguru comes out to the other demons in the demon house and they all support him and never put him down for it. (Kinda thinking about writing a cute story for it)
Sorry, this one was kinda scathered all over the place! I just wanted to share some head canons I have and I'll definitely be making a part two.
