I always think about how many of Lestat's actions, reactions and advice in S1 is him just trying to explain his own lived experiences.

Lestat never liked Louis and Claudia could talk to each other mentally and hear each other's thoughts while he couldnt and he is immediately transferred back to Paris when he turned Gabrielle and Nicki and realized that they were talking to each other in their minds and he couldnt hear their thoughts and felt abandoned and excluded by two people he loves so much.

When he shouts and tells Louis "Embrace what you are, you are a killer Louis", almost panicking and dying for Louis to embrace his vampiric side because he has seen first hand what happens to someone who does not (Nicki) and being scared out of mind that Louis would kill himself just like Nicki did.

When he tells Louis to cut ties with his family because they will always be scared of him and then tells Claudia after Charlie dies not to engage with mortals because they will end up end, he is lived through that. After he became a vampire, he went to his precious Renauds where he loved being an actor and wanted to see if he could make it work on stage even after being a vampire because thats how much he loved acting and also he would see Nicki, but it was a very bad experience with the whole thing and he realized that he could never gel and mix with human beings again like he used. He couldnt be an actor and that all the crew and Nicki had to go away from him.

But Lestat could never tell Louclaudia openly because that would mean living all these traumatic experiences again and he cant afford that to happen, because Lestat in his mind is never a victim. He thinks everything that happened to him he deserved it, all the abuse, all the trauma, he asked for it. Lestat is obsessed with himself but he dosent like himself so he hides everything that could have helped Louis and Claudia to understand him, instead repeat the cycles of abuse and trauma with them.

Lestat would prefer death than to be vulnerable and accept that people can love him for he is because he is never had that in his life.

What a show, what a story and what an amazing character!

About Nikki being cruel with Lestat....

Armand did something to his mind after kidnapping him, making him hateful towards Lestat. (Honestly, it could be. But it’s the least deep take, and maybe Lestat would have noticed that when drinking from him? I don’t know.)

Armand and everyone else were right: the gift should only be given carefully because some people go crazy, and Nikki represents that.

The weeks before transforming, Nicholas must have felt confusion, loss, and betrayal non stop.

He was sure Lestat wouldn’t leave him but he did and just after ranting about an entity, and the window was shattered, as if someone had kidnapped him. So Nikki’s last human days were filled with fear and superstition. Then Lestat comes back, and instead of seeing him, he keeps him at a distance and just sends gifts. He sees him again and sees how Lestat gets fucking shot and he probably feels his soul leaving his body bc he is dying infront of him and he sees the blood but Lestat is ok. I´m sorry I would also become fucking mad, insane, cuckoo, craaazy af. Then Gabrielle arrives, sick and dying, and he respects her so much, bc he knows how important she is for Lestat, so he goes to see her in his best clothes. And sees that Lestat isn’t there, his mother is dying and the the biggest mamma's boy in the whole France isnt there. Does he even know who Lestat is anymore? He is confused, angry idk probably offended.

Then both Lestat and Gabrielle disappear. More confusion, spiraling, abandonment, and then boom, that’s how you feel for eternity. All while becoming a blood-sucking demon whose emotions are amplified beyond anything a human could stand.

Is Armand cutting his hands and leaving him without food, making him more unstable, absolutely fucking cruel and connected to his suicide? YES, Armand you fucking monster.

But Nikki got broken by Lestat imo. And that just makes it more tragic. As a human his last weeks were shit, bc of Lestat dissaperence , thats on Magnus, but, everything after? Lestat sees his mother, and she is dying sure but wastes no time in telling her everything and transforming her. Now that is on Lestat. And then after Nikki is transformed and its experiencing all the worst emotions possible, since his creation is not what he expected Lestat doesn't care about him anymore and does a fucking Victor Frankenstein on him instead of stepping up? he litteraly says that he falls inlove with Armand, Nikki was in the room next door while he was having vampire calls with Armand and thinking how he had never been more in love with someone. WITH ARMAAAAND, the fucking Lesmand fanfic of S02 was true.

Lestat is really a mother who never wanted children had one to make her husband happy, the child then immediately favors her dad even though you did all the work and also is so like you in all the worse ways and only deals with your resentment towards your child until it’s too late.

The double standards between Mike and Joker is lowkey insane, I will never be able to trust people who love Joker and hate Mike cause every time you ask them why they hate Mike they’ll come back with “he shouted at Violetta!” First of all, he apologised later, and he only shouted in the first place because she was talking about something directly related to his trauma, second of all, and I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this, Joker MURDERED Violetta, how are you gonna hate Mike for SHOUTING when he was overwhelmed then turn around and love Joker when he murdered the same person you hate Mike for mistreating?

Now don’t get me wrong, I love Joker and think he’s incredibly interesting, I just hate this argument. “Mike ignored the abuse going on in the circus!” Mike was being abused himself and didn’t realise it because he doesn’t know anything else, as soon as he realises they were suffering, he kills himself, I truly don’t understand the reason for all of the hate towards him recently.

“He’s so rude!” Well yeah…he’s been the centre of attention his ENTIRE life, sure he’ll come off as arrogant, but he’s more just sassy than rude? He canonically hates rude and violent people, why would he act in that fashion for any reason other than the fact his entire life was just burnt to the ground? I just don’t understand the sudden influx in pure Mike hate recently.
