Track Goals with a Bullet Journal
A bullet journal tracker can help you stay organized and motivated!
A Bullet Journal is a handbook sized journal with dots inside instead of lines, but to be honest, for tracking your life activities, you could also use whatever you have available, for example: a math book with grids.
Write the goals along the side and cross them off as you've completed them.
You can track:
• Spiritual endeavors
• Self-care activities
• Physical Activity
• Gift Giving
• Study Goals
• Time spent with loved ones
• Charitable Acts
• Seeking Knowledge
By tracking these things, you'll feel inspired to take action and taste a sense of mastery and accomplishment.
Emotional Damage: Splitting 🤍🖤
People often say "triggered" when they mean that something has upset them or brought back a bad memory. But not everyone knows about another strong emotional feeling called "splitting."
Splitting is when a person sees things in black and white, either all good or all bad.
It's like seeing the world in only two colors, like a coloring book with just black and white.
It happens because the persons emotions are not in a normal working order, they are "dysregulated".
Emotional dysregulation means having trouble controlling your emotions and managing them in a healthy way.
It's like having a roller coaster or a whirlwind of feelings that are confusing and hard to manage. Something may make you happy one minute and suddenly make you sad the next.
What it's like:
• Intense emotions
• Emotions quickly changing
• Distorted thinking patterns
For example, imagine you have a best friend and you think they are the greatest person in the world. But one day they make a mistake and do something that upsets you. With splitting, you might suddenly think they are the worst person in the world and so you don't think of them as a friend anymore.
The truth is, people are complex and can have both good and bad qualities. Just like how a picture can have both black and white in it, people can have both good and bad traits.
It's important to remember this and try to see things in a more balanced way.
Naturally, left unmanaged, splitting can cause unstable relationships and low self worth.
Fortunately, we can learn about what our feelings are trying to tell us and find ways to better understand them. We can also learn helpful tools and strategies to make us feel more in control and have happier relationships with the people we love.
Write an Emotional Dump Letter 📝 🤬 🚮
Handling Negative Emotions and Trapped Traumas
Sometimes when we get overwhelmed by negative emotions or triggered by past traumas, our thoughts and emotions can become chaotic and confusing.
In this state, it's hard to think clearly and make important decisions, so it's important to find healthy ways to channel this energy.
One of the ways to do so is to write an Emotional Dump Letter.
*It's important to note from the start that this letter is NOT intended to be sent to anyone, rather it's purpose is purely therapeutic.
Heres what to do:
• Grab a pen and paper, and find a quiet place where you can write freely and uninterrupted. (You need to be free to focus and feel all your emotions fully so it's best if you don't have any dependent eldery, children or pets around you at this time.)
• Write anything and everything that comes to mind, without worrying about making sense or censoring yourself.
• Write until you have nothing left to say. It can be helpful to write about things that are troubling you, to express any rage or confusion, or to release any pent up emotions.
• If it helps, use brainstorming or a flow chart, you can even add some art or graphics to your journal to help you better express yourself.
• Once you're done writing, put the letter away for later and do something cozy for yourself, like taking a bath, snacking on cookies, or reading a favorite book.
• Wait a few days before revisiting your letter. This will give you some time to process your emotions and gain some perspective.
• When you're ready, come back to your letter and observe it carefully. Consider the things you wrote and how you're feeling now.
• If you'd like, you can destroy the letter by shredding it, tearing it, burning it (take precautions, safety first!) or pulverizing it in water. This symbolizes letting go of your negative emotions and feelings.
Remember, the most important thing is to express your feelings and release them in a safe and healthy way.
Writing an Emotional Dump Letter can be a great way to do this, and it can help you to reflect and feel more centered.
Find your Happy Place 🔍🥰
Finding your "happy place" is a wonderful way to bring a little bit of joy and calm into your life. Here are some steps to help you create one:
• Think of a special memory or place: This could be somewhere you've been, a person who makes you smile, or a moment that brings you happiness.
• Imagine it clearly: Close your eyes and picture yourself in that special place, hear the sounds, feel the sensations, and breathe in the smells.
• Make a connection: Choose a simple action, like touching your fingers together, or saying a word that reminds you of your happy place. Do that action whenever you want to go to your happy place.
• Practice makes perfect: Whenever you need a boost of happiness or peace, simply repeat the physical action or word, and let your mind take you back to your happy place.
Remember, everyone's happy place is different so take the time to find what memories or experiences work the best for you.
Take a moment for yourself, keep practicing it and visit your happy place whenever you need to. It's a special place just for you, where you can feel loved and cared for, just the way you are.
Plan for the Next Level 📋🎯
When we know where we are right now and where we want to be in the future, we can focus on making the parts of our life that matter to us even better.
This makes us feel more balanced and we feel like we're in charge.
It can help us to reach our goals faster.
Once there was a man named Hal Elrod who was hurt in a car crash.
He rested, got better and he felt lucky to be alive.
One day he had some money problems, he felt sad and frustrated about this, so he started thinking about how other people think about their lives.
He discovered that some people know a way to try to get what they want.
He thought, if we learn from their good habits, it can help us reach our own goals and have a life that's happy and enjoyable in all parts.
Thats when he figured out a way to keep track, so everyone can try to improve parts of their life.
Some of those parts might be:
• Our relationships with other people
• Being healthy and strong
• What we want to do with our life
• Learning new things and getting better.
Creating a "level 10 life" chart is a fun way to see how we're doing in the different parts of our life:
• First, we think about the the things that are most important to us, like our health, our friends and family, and things we like to do
• Next, we draw a picture. One fun way is to draw a pizza shape with slices showing the parts of our life (a slice for family, a slice for friends, a slice for school etc).
• So draw a big circle, then draw 9 more circles inside the big circle (a bit like a dart board) to make 10 levels, and draw lines through the centre to make it like a pizza.
• Then, we give each slice a score from 1 (near the centre) to 10 (on the edge), with 10 being the best.
• When we colour those gaps in, it can show the how we're feeling in each slice of our life
• Looking at the picture, we think about what we want to do to make our life even better
• We make goals for each slice and keep colouring in the levels to keep track of how we're doing
• We can redo the activitiy and look at our picture every once in a while to see how far we've come and how much we've achieved!
That's how we can make a "level 10 life" type of chart for ourselves.
We can make it like a big poster and hang it up to inspire us every day or keep them in a journal so we can look at them and think about them over time.
Write a Personal Misson Statement 🖊📋
A Personal Mission Statement is like a map for your life. It helps you figure out what you really want and what's important to you.
Think of it like a compass that points you in the right direction and helps you stay on track.
When you have a Personal Mission Statement, you can use it to make decisions about what you want to do and where you want to go.
It can help you feel empowered because you have a plan and a clear idea of what you're working towards.
Just like how a map helps you know where you're going on a trip, your mission statement can help you know where you're headed in life.
The cool thing is, you get to choose your destination!
So having a mission statement can make you feel confident and in control of your own life.
Some Questions to ask that may help you write up a Personal Mission Statement:
•What's the main thing you want to change or improve in your life?
•What are your personal values and principles that guide your choices?
•Who will be the biggest helpers because of your plan?
•What makes you unique and special compared to others?
•How will you know if you're happy and doing well?
•What do you hope will happen in the future because of your plan?
•How will you get others involved and help them be a part of your plan?
•How will you keep your plan going and make sure you keep getting better?
Creating a Personal Mission Statement is like putting together a Special Message about what you want to do and what's important to you.
To make a special Personal Mission Statement for yourself, you need to take all the important answers you wrote down and put them into one simple sentence.
Now it should be easy to understand and make you feel happy and excited!
It's important to choose words that mean something to you and show what you want to do and what matters to you.
It might take a little while to make a Personal Mission Statement that reflects the real you, but when you have it, it will feel just like your "Vibe" and a you can use it as a map to help you keep going and reach your goals!
