Shizuo is on sports scholarship, star of the baseball team. Izaya is majoring in psychology with a minor in sociology.

Shizuo works part time at the bar where Izaya holds meetings for the underground gambling club he founded (they hold bets on the baseball games).

shizaya concept: izaya decides to mess with shizuo by attempting to woo him (to make shizuo fall in love with him only to break his heart) but shizuo's onto him and decides to get back at izaya by doing an uno reverse and wooing him instead and—to izaya's extreme frustration and bewilderment—it's working

(it was actually shinra's idea btw. on both accounts. he's been playing matchmaker behind the scenes in order to get these dumbass friends of his to finally stop trying to kill each other all the time)
