I don't think the people at the top care about the planet. It's all manufactured to keep the people under control and give them a feel-good story that progress is being made.

The people on the bottom don't want to face the reality that the worst culprits are mostly undeveloped countries plus China. They're not even trying and on a cultural level they just don't care. Those of us who do care can never do enough. Every little bit helps and if you don't do it you're killing the planet!

I really hate the every little bit helps thing. It's the environmental equivalent of most jobs paying under $17 when rent is almost $2k and some boomer telling you that going to starbucks is the problem.
