Kai was a bit, to put it nicely, at a loss for words at this very moment.
Shame had chainsawed his tongue in a half. As the time to open his mouth approached, he found himself beginning to bleed through his lips to the point he felt a bit lightheaded and disoriented, making it nearly impossible for him to form a coherent sentence once he was asked to explain himself.
‘Why did you do this, Kai?’, you asked him directly sitting across from him inside the coffee shop booth at the entrance of HYBE campus. ‘I thought we were friends,’ you added, and tongue-tied, Kai struggled to open his mouth without spewing visceral blood in between his shameful words.
What was he supposed to tell you? He also thought you were friends, family even, or maybe more. Your bond had transcended from any category throughout the many years you stood side by side and at this point, Kai had no clear definition of what you were to him, but he was sure his love for you was so immersive it had drowned him to an extent — and maybe that was what pushed him to do the things he did. He felt as if he was suffocating himself with devotion, neglecting his needs, aspirations, and future, and so, he did what he usually does best, he acted out of instinct and fully drove himself into a wall and hopped onto a speeding car without regards for his own safety or yours for that matter.
‘How do I explain it to you?’ he thought for a brief second. ‘How do I tell you I lost the reasons for my actions along the way? I simply do not know why I did what I did, I just know it was bad.’
Sighing, Hueningkai composes himself on the chair. Pulling each bone on his spine in the right place to appear taller and less defeated; calmer and collected in your eyes, he starts to speak about why he thinks he knows for sure about himself and his actions, hoping on the way to explain it he’d also find the answers as to why he did what he did by your side. “They had a plan to escape something bigger than what you and I can understand, I suppose. I wanted to help them and I wanted to help myself too.”
“You say I can’t understand,” you mutter and throw yourself back on the chair, crossing both arms on your chest. “But you haven’t explained to me what’s going on. How about I try to judge the situation and see if I can understand it on my own?”
“I…” He pauses for a minute and nods. “Beomgyu and Lia had been paired as a couple even before birth. I know it sounds a bit too fucking crazy, but people from our circle just want to maintain stability and status. They keep each other close and don’t really welcome others easily, and with so much competition between companies and the possibility of falling off any day, CEO’s come up with quick plans to gain allies and extra support just in case. One person is stronger with a team behind them, of course, but they are nearly impossible to dethrone if they get paired with another company as equally powerful. Lia and Beomgyu’s case was that. Jisu’s mom had been searching for common ground between her business and Beomgyu’s for a while now. When she found out her daughter and their son will possibly exist in the same place and get close, she sealed a marriage deal with Gyu’s family. After college was over both of them would tie the knot and make the deal between companies real over the engagement. Lia and Beomgyu had been aware of this from very early on, and the first one that wanted to escape the marriage was Lia.”
“Understandable. No one would like to be forced to be by Beomgyu’s side,” you roll your eyes.
“She wanted to be with Yeonjun freely, Yn. She loved him,” Kai clarifies and you divert your gaze to the window, observing the many Hybe students entering or leaving through the gates before classes start. “It’s not like she wasn’t allowed to date before the marriage happened, but her mom did want her to cut things off with June later, to start publicizing her relationship with Gyu by the time they both entered college.” You return your gaze to the boy in front of you and pull over the hood of your Wildcats hoodie, — the one you had stolen from his closet months ago and was big enough to hide you almost completely —, further sinking into your spot and avoiding looking at anyone else in fear of getting caught by someone you knew inside campus when you shouldn’t be there in the first place. “I suppose you know how this went from now on though, don’t you? Yeonjun dumped Lia out of the blue for you, Beomgyu got nearly kicked out of the family entirely for sending Yeonjun to the hospital, and then you started dating Beomgyu too way into the college year, being really public and obvious about it.”
“I had no idea he was tied to Lia.”
“Well, if you ask me, I’m pretty sure Beomgyu also had no clue he was still engaged to Lia. If I had been in his position, I would have assumed after nearly getting cut off by my family, they would have dropped the marriage contract as a whole, but it turns out they didn’t and I think everything exploded on Lia’s and Beomgyu’s faces way too fast after that.”
“Okay, so you started helping them out —.”
“Lia, I helped Lia out, not Beomgyu. Beomgyu had no idea I knew about this,” Kai interrupts you, “I never cared about him. He was an asshole back then. He treated you like shit and everybody else too. If he had gotten cut off completely from the family and dropped from the face of the earth right after I wouldn’t have given a single shit. He always thought we were friends but I only put up with him because you liked him.” You frown, confused over this new information. If Kai ever truly despised Beomgyu you never noticed, but that shouldn’t be so surprising. It seemed as if your ex-best friend was incredible at masking his true emotions and hiding his thoughts, after all, he had hidden everything from you so far. “And the fact that he liked you back was such a big problem, to begin with. Everything started with that to be honest. As far as I know, way before you and Gyu started seeing each other, there was a whole mess inside the Choi family, with Beomgyu’s dad and Yeonjun’s mom. Literally don’t ask me too much about it, because I don’t have all the details, but Lia’s mom had some dirt found in there and could use it to her advantage over there. — I’m saying all of these because Lia told me, but there was proof of some cheating in that situation, like, just out of nowhere, Beomgyu’s mom found out her husband was cheating with Yeonjun’s mom, and this happened when Lia and June were basically being in a public relationship. So this could be used to get rid of Yeonjun at the time you know? And I think Beomgyu just made it worse when he sent him to the hospital because, after such a big mess, the Choi family had the best excuse to send him away too and strain the relationship even more. Like, I’m seriously convinced if Yeonjun hadn’t left for an entire year, Lia would have gone back to him anyways and June would have returned with her too for his own benefit.”
“Yeonjun wouldn’t have done that because he was no longer interested,” you argue.
“Is that so?” He asks a bit childishly and fake smiles at you. “Then what is he doing back on Lia’s side after all this time, uh? You found a clue of him being involved in this mess too, so explain to me. Why is he there if not for his own benefit?”
“Why are you involved too?” You fire back and his smile fades. “What do you get from this?”
“His leader position in the Wildcats,” Hueningkai adopts the same position as yours, reducing into an insignificant mass of meat and bones, shivering slightly over the commotion of the whole situation and you appear to grow a bit bigger with anger and shock over the knowledge of his reason behind his betrayal. “Shortly after Yeonjun left, Lia found out the pictures of your mom and the coach and she wanted to hide them. Beomgyu knew about this too, — I didn’t know until I decided to help though, which was way after you got expelled,” he clarifies. “But the pictures just fucking disappeared out of nowhere too and only reappeared when you got exposed.”
“Soobin’s mom did it.”
“Exactly,” he replies quickly. “You were out too, pretty easily, leaving the path clear for Beomgyu to marry, and at the same time someone was sending him some threats through texts too and he didn’t want to say anything either, and then one day, Lia got ahold of a certain old phone that her mom used to contact Soobin’s mom and also pass down information, and just like that she was back on track to escape the plan. She wanted to use whatever was on the phone as a threat to her own mom to escape the marriage contract but she knew she couldn’t tell Beomgyu right away. He was barely starting to attend therapy, hated her guts as well, and could do something irrational if he found out the truth too soon.”
“So she asked you for help?”
“No, silly,” he leans over the table as if he was ready to tell you a secret. “Yeonjun asked it.” You stay silent, unwrapping your arms slowly to reach out for your face with your trembling fingers. You rub your eyes in disbelief and groan, growing more and more confused by the second. Kai extends an arm forward to rub one of your shoulders in comfort but you shake him off rather quickly and he retreats just as fast. “He only joined Hybe because Beomgyu’s dad offered to pay for his career to keep his mom happy.”
“Wait, wait, what?”
“Yeonjun didn’t choose to be here, love, he was forced into this career. His mom saw that he was mildly decent at playing sports and wanted him to continue that path. She didn’t really have faith in his music career, plus, she knew we had offered him a meeting with the label executives before he had to leave on his long year trip and she wanted him out as soon as possible to stop him from going. When he returned they got him a good trainer, sent him to the hockey try-outs and he got his position there. He got my position there.”
“Your position?”
“Well, Minho’s position, my position too…whatever,” he dismisses it with a wave of his hand and continues. “He landed a spot on the hockey team partially because he was sponsored by Beomgyu’s dad from the beginning, but his teammates did choose him as a leader though. That one was earned, but by the second year it was obvious Yeonjun had no interest in sports at all and then he started to attend counseling sessions with your mom, remember?”
“...that’s how I found out what he did.”
“That fucking idiot!” Kai blurts out and reddens when he accidentally catches the attention of some students entering the shop for some coffee. “I knew someone must have let it slip. We made sure to leave no trace.”
“Okay, first off, you sent me an email with a document full of proof, so you did leave a trace somewhere,” you correct him, “and secondly, he did not let it slip at all — well, I guess he didn’t. I caught him talking to Lia on the phone by accident once and decided to investigate on my own. When I went into my mom’s office for more information, all there was on her record were some mentions of him getting a second audition and a chance at the Arts College. If it weren’t for me eavesdropping, I wouldn’t have found shit and mom wouldn’t have told me either because it isn’t legal for her to share whatever goes down during her sessions.”
“That stupid asshole,” Kai continues to whisper. “He nearly ruined everything.”
“Would you have told me at some point about this?”
“Of course! But after you had boarded a plane somewhere else. I didn’t want to have you here to see the rest of this mess unfold. I was sure you would have stayed if you found out sooner, and I guess I was right for thinking that way. You are still here,” he expresses defeated. “Do the rest know? Does Soobin know?”
“Every person that needs to know does it now,” you sentence. “Now, why did you do it? Lia did it to escape, Yeonjun did it to escape too I assume, but why you?”
Hueningkai presses his lips on a thin line and seems to be taken aback. Truly, he had reached a point in this conversation where he cannot say anything else without involving himself directly in the narration. He has nowhere left to run nor more details to provide you, and you appear to have enough information as it is and do not need more to confirm your suspicions. If anything, you have enough proof to turn the situation around in your favor now, yet you remain curious about his thought process and that terrifies him because he hasn’t found the answers within himself throughout this whole time, nor did he reach them by speaking to you upfront.
‘You stopped being enough. I stopped being enough too,’ he feels like saying but that wouldn’t make any sense. The idea that he did it out of sheer pettiness and greed isn’t something he is ready to fully digest hence he isn’t ready to voice it out, but still, he thinks he should try to tell you the truth. It’s the least he can do for you.
“I knew if Yeonjun stayed in Hybe he’d keep being the leader of the team until graduation and he’d keep on stealing the spotlight despite my efforts of becoming the best member and captain too. I also knew he was madly talented and this career wasn’t what he wanted, so I offered to get rid of him. I convinced dad to pull some strings and give him a second chance; I reminded him that he could be valuable to the label later and that he only needed a push. The rest was easy.”
“That’s stupid. Even with Yeonjun leaving now, the next captain will surely be Minho. Everyone wants him to take over the team.”
“Yes, but he is near his graduation period and his dad will give him full access to the family company and a deal on an official team for a few years too. He will most likely get scouted on a good team before finishing his studies and he won’t be interested in the Wildcats anymore. He just wants things to be better now for the team because if he will be in charge, he wants his record to be spotless and Yeonjun is causing way too many problems already by getting involved in this mess.”
“So you are just waiting for the spot to be vacant to get what you want.”
“And to get you out of here too. Honestly, I hate the idea of you leaving my side, but I know if you leave with dad for a bit then you will return refreshed and we’ll be able to fix it.”
“And what about what I fucking want, Kai?” Your body reacts faster than your brain, jumping up the chair and nearly knocking it over in the process. “You fucking did things behind my back just to tie me to you. Are you sick in the head or what? Did it never occur to you that maybe, just maybe, I had a full career ahead of me? Maybe I did deserve the spot on the team despite what my mom did? That maybe, I don’t know, just wanted to choose for once? My entire life I’ve been working on auto-pilot to please everybody, to avoid problems, and to leave in one piece from a horrible situation with my parents and you knew about this. You knew I was tired of doing things just for the sake of maintaining some stability and you knew I was suffering, but you did nothing to help me you just helped yourself.”
“No, listen —.”
“No, I don’t need to hear anything else. I know enough,” you bend down to grab the backpack you dragged with yourself and threw onto the floor as soon as you got settled on the table, and open the front hastily, taking out the plane tickets you got delivered by his dad. “You can use it to go visit your mom in the States or some shit. I won’t go.”
“Baby…”
“I think you should find someone new to obsess over, Kai, or get a life of your own. Just stay away. You and I are nothing anymore. — And, if you think, only for one second, I will keep this civil you are deadly wrong. Cross paths with me again and I will do everything to ruin you, understood? We are done through and if I go down, I will make sure to take you with me.”
“How come you are still alive?”
Soobin sighs, resting almost his entire weight on the single crutch he decided to take to campus today. His bag swings a bit forward before it slides off with the help of Beomgyu’s hands and silence settles in briefly, greeting both boys timidly accompanied by a small tint of tension.
Despite Beomgyu having the courtesy of grabbing the bag from Soobin and presumably wanting to help him out, kindness does not reach his eyes, and anger ounces off of him with every move he makes. The bag gets nearly taken away on a snatching movement and the look Soobin receives nearly threatens him to move as fast as possible.
Beomgyu does not waste more than two insignificant seconds in moving forward down the path to the training center, and he barely takes the time to look his cousin in the eye. “Why would I not be alive?” Soobin finally retorts to the initial question and struggles to keep up the pace, falling behind quite easily and having to nearly shout his words in order to have Beomgyu hear them. “I’ve been texting non-stop since I arrived at the hospital. Do you think I can magically die after a beating?”
“Well, you’ve never been this close to the grave, so I thought…” He stops for a second and turns around. “You’d consider yourself dead to everybody else at least.”
Both boys take their time to look at their surroundings with fairly different views, and the sight looks at them back. Waves of students pass by each other on their way to their own buildings, be it for class or training, in a hurry, but they take their sweet time to create a space for Beomgyu and Soobin to coexist within the mass and they most importantly pay attention to them with a newfound interest that could have only been sparkled due to hatred.
In Soobin’s case, he appears to be the medium for their distaste and interest. As much as any of the students would like to say they preferred to pay no mind to the person who just got exposed as a grade-A manipulator, fame-hungry, and greediest member of The Bulls team, they can’t deny the fact that he is the biggest news and the most interesting character they’ve dealt with in a while. Despite the many controversies surrounding the tennis team — and any other team for that matter —, Soobin’s plot to overthrow you and steal all the recognition for himself was probably the most intricate piece of media and planning they’ve ever read about.
The conspiracy and sickening dedication put into every minuscule move the Choi family did to achieve what they wanted for their son, and what their son allegedly did too, was simply immaculate and despite what anyone would like you to think, no one on that campus could ignore the presence of Choi Soobin.
His persona was, for once, enough to draw all the attention and hoard it completely. Still, it was saddening to see how the only moment people have given Soobin the time of the day was when he did badly, and all the looks he received were mostly disgusted and enraged.
He was worth nothing but pure hatred and students made sure Soobin was aware of it having followed him through multiple steps from the moment he arrived at his dorms to the second he encountered his cousin. People talked loudly about him or directly to him as well. He received pushes and insults, stretching the timing he took to reach the main building as if he wasn’t already slowed down enough by his wounded body and the existence of the extra crutch to support it.
Regardless, if it wasn’t for the fact that others stopped him along the way, he wouldn’t have run into his cousin at all, and despite his presence being less than welcoming nor warm, for Soobin at least it was rather comforting to walk the last steps to his final destination side by side with a familiar face.
It seemed as if when Beomgyu stepped into the scene, the circle of shame students had indirectly formed around Soobin, became wider in space and quieter as well.
No one knew where to stand when it came to Beomgyu at all. He was not mentioned as one of the many people behind the Choi plan but he was related to them by blood and association, and he too had been a victim of blackmailing as well, though his side of the story was weirdly never expanded in the publication of the note that magazine dropped, he was mentioned and that was enough to place him in a tough spot.
Right now he was helping his cousin, the number one target of hate online and in HYBE, walk to the tennis center, but he was also one of the most affected by his family’s actions.
It was odd to say the least and Soobin caught onto this pretty quickly.
Beomgyu was receiving mixed reactions. Some observed him with the same level of hatred as they did to Soobin, probably assuming they helping each other out meant they were both involved in this mess — or worse, that Beomgyu had somehow forgiven Soobin easily despite the severity of his actions; and others threw him sympathetic and almost pitiful looks, believing this was a sign of Beomgyu’s goodness and love despite everything.
Fully aware of this and painfully drained from all the attention, Soobin looks back at his cousin with teary eyes and smiles forcedly, recalling what was just said to him: “you’d consider yourself dead to everyone else.”
Beomgyu was right. His reputation had been killed on the spot by something he was now entirely sure he did not do and was planned way before he even knew about it, but despite all of this, the blame was on him and his mother anyways and regardless of how much Soobin did not want to accept it, he had prayed on your downfall and many others too. He was done wrong and he had done wrong.
“I just want to pick up my things before I leave,” Soobin says and starts walking again only to be stopped by Beomgyu who raises up a hand towards him and furrows his brows.
“I will get them faster. I know the passcode to your locker.”
“But I don’t want to —.”
“Just stay right here, Soobin.” Without giving him any more chances to speak, Beomgyu turns around and practically runs the last steps into the building.
Soobin sighs, dropping his gaze to the floor. “But I don’t want to be alone in here,” he whispers to himself and gulps. That’s what he had nearly admitted.
‘I’m scared, Beomgyu. I can take a few punches but never this much hatred.’ Soobin thinks to himself when the first insults begin to get thrown at him by other passing students. ‘Come back, I’m sorry.’ The circle around him reduces exponentially in size. ‘I’ve learned my lesson, please. I can’t face the consequences. I’m not ready to live with this burden my entire life.’ Someone steps in and kicks his crutch to the side, making Soobin nearly trip. ‘You are the only person that loved me to an extent.’
Seeing as the tall boy does not budge on his place despite the odds. The student retaliates by actually pushing him to the ground harshly. “This is for what you did to Yn.” Soobin falls on his back and screams in pain, quickly feeling the weight of the person on top of him before the first punch gets landed on his face.
‘I can’t lose you too, Beomgyu. If you are the only one I got left, then so be it. I just don’t want to be alone. Please, come back.’
“Stop! Stop, hey — can’t you hear me?! What the fuck, get off! Don’t do that!”
Soobin rolls to the side after one single punch to the face, gently shielding his body by curling into a human ball on the floor as he shuts his eyes closed.
The voice of his savior is one he would recognize for ages on end. That sweetened and concerned tone, the pitch and delivery of every word.
Lia.
How come the person who added so much to his and everybody else’s suffering was standing by his side now, guarding him like a rabid dog?
Confused and a bit disoriented, Soobin slowly opens his eyes and catches a glimpse of Lia’s white heels first, before he looks even higher just to meet gazes with a concerned Yeonjun, who quickly drops by his side and begins to question his well-being.
‘Are you okay, Soobin? How many fingers do you see?’ It’s what Soobin gets to hear in between all the whispers of other students and Lia’s rageful screams for everybody to back down and leave him alone.
“Don’t…” Soobin mutters. “Fucking bastard.” Yeonjun immediately retreats with his cheeks flaring with heat and shame. ‘How many fingers do I see? Five. All mine,’ Soobin feels like responding. ‘I will put them all on a knuckle sandwich and make you eat them. Selfish asshole. You ruined us to achieve your dreams, greedy bitch — wait,’ he stops himself and simply extends a hand forward for help, dejected and tongue-tied over his own train of thoughts changing so drastically and showing him first-hand how he appeared to everybody else.
He and Yeonjun couldn’t be any less alike yet so similar in this very moment. Both had worked hard to achieve what they wanted or was expected from them, and despite their success and talent, they couldn’t be recognized the way they wished for and desperation made them commit horrid mistakes to get what they desired.
At the end what was Soobin if not the reflection of what Yeonjun was to him but publicly exposed?
The only difference between Soobin and Yeonjun right now was that Yeonjun had the upper hand, but that wouldn’t be for long. Soobin wasn’t planning to go down without a fight and if he had to drag everyone that wronged him to the depths of hell he will.
Soobin was greedy, yes, but he was even more stubborn and this fight was not done until he called it quits.
“Leave him alone. Nothing he had done will justify ganging up on him, especially when he is already all beaten up. For fuck sake,” Lia rants and the student frowns, crossing both arms on his chest. “And if you do something to him I will tell the administration. Violence is prohibited here and we all know that.”
“That didn’t stop Kang Taehyun from giving him the beating of his life though,” announces another student from the circle and Yeonjun helps Soobin stand back on the ground, even going as far as dusting him off and handing him his fallen crutch. “If he got to do it why can’t we?”
Well, words traveled fast around campus. It was obvious sooner rather than later someone would know about what Taehyun did. “Tae is already in the principal’s office for this. Everyone who fucks up here gets a sanction. Rules aren’t any different for anybody,” Yeonjun expresses.
“They were for him, weren’t they?” They snarl back looking at Soobin. “He got someone expelled.”
“Yes and if I say you punched someone to the ground in this condition you will get kicked out too. So shut the fuck up and go to class. This is my last warning,” Yeonjun threatens and Lia walks over to him, grabbing him by the shoulders upon seeing them both get dangerously close to each other. “Walk off or —.”
“Or what?”
“You deal with us too.”
Lia’s face drains from any possible color once she notices who walks so casually into the circle with their best friend trailing right behind her like a lost puppy. You stand by her side shamelessly and eye up and down the student with a vague air of disdain and disinterest.
Soobin shyly stands in his place, being nearly shielded by you, Yeonjun, Lia and Kai too with the latter being a bit unsure of meddling in the conflict so easily but mostly staying for your sake. And just when he thoughts this couldn’t get any messier, Beomgyu walks out of the building and steps into the place with pure confusion and surprise.
“Yn?” The student asks in disbelief. “My God, are you back?! Finally!”
“Who the fuck are you dude?” you question and Beomgyu steps in between you both, putting some distance but also acting as a wall in case anyone decides, for some reason, to throw fists. “This drama is between us, seriously. Get out and let us solve it.”
“He got you expelled!”
“No shit! Really? What a shocker. Now keep walking and let me solve this on my own, will you? I think after what I went through I should have the right to decide, at the very least, if he gets beaten up again or not.”
“You heard her, everyone keep walking already,” Lia adds. “There’s nothing to see here.”
“Let’s keep it civil,” Yeonjun walks forward and puts a hand on Beomgyu’s shoulder, tugging him back. “And between ourselves.”
The students slowly start walking off one by one, still a bit apprehensive and mostly confused over your presence, but fully aware that they can’t really do anything against Soobin right now and that they should go to class if they don’t want to raise any concerns from their tutors. And so, when the mass dissipates, Soobin clearly hears his cousin tell Yeonjun how this is not over yet, after promptly shaking his grip off his shoulder.
Beomgyu drops the bag at Soobin’s feet and Hueningkai sighs. “Can we talk now?”
“No, Kai. Walk out before you get punched too,” you threaten, “Come on, Bin. Let’s get you to the dorms.”
“Are you for real?” Lia expresses borderline offended. “You come in here for God know’s what reason, call in all the shots then leave with the number one source of our problems? Soobin can’t leave. He needs to talk to our coaches and team. He owes us an apology for this mess. The reputation of The Bulls is ruined because of him. We are ruined because of him.”
“Save it, Lia. Don’t make this any worse.”
“No! He doesn’t get to walk out and leave us all here to deal with his bullshit. His family needs to pay for the damage —.” Lia’s words get cut through by you turning around fastly and grabbing her by the collar of her dressing shirt.
In a matter of seconds, Beomgyu, Kai, and Yeonjun are all surrounding you two trying to separate you both and spewing incoherent sentences to stop you from doing something—, and Soobin quotes, — ‘you will regret.’
The left-out boy seems to think otherwise when he observes the scene unfolding before his eyes. He thinks if anyone here deserves a punch beside him is Lia, and no one but you should give it to her. But he understands the other, much more concerning side to this.
Direct violence won’t get you anywhere and no level of physical pain you could inflict on Lia’s body now would give you back your career or future; if anything, you’d promptly be setting yourself up for a war with her and considering her record, she could take you down strategically pretty easily.
Regardless, your small fit of rage easily sparks something in Soobin, making him think faster than he thought possible and successfully setting him up to question his next step and yours.
In hindsight, you and he were near mortal enemies, as well as Beomgyu, but you stood no chance alone if you went up to fight Lia or Yeonjun for that matter, and Soobin had to admit. The idea of informing everyone of what was truly going on as soon as you got a mere hint of the real ploy they got going on was pretty intelligent. Whoever needed to be involved in this mess was added quickly and you had enough information to retaliate too.
You just needed to be intelligent about it.
“If we weren’t in the middle of campus I would have dragged your face across the floor right now,” you admit to Lia after getting separated. “And if the situation was different, I would have exposed your stupid ass too.”
Sensing you are about to go down a tangent — or worse, talk a bit too much before the timing was right, Soobin decides to speak. “Let’s leave it here. We can’t get into a bigger problem now.”
“Soobin shut up —.”
“No, Yn, you shut the fuck up and walk me to the dorms. My nose is bleeding again and we got enough to deal with now,” he sentences and points at Beomgyu with the end of his crutch. “ You too. Come with us.”
“In hell, I will—.”
“I remind you mom was the one sustaining your pathetic ass this whole time. Now we need to solve this with her, so move your stupid ass here now Beomgyu. If you want to fight, do it later. Let’s go.”
I’ve got a bigger plan for us. Soobin wants to say but holds back. We’ll get the revenge we deserve, just trust me.
“No, you have to stay,” Lia insists. “We need to solve this with the coaches.”
“Why don’t you solve first your mess with your own group of little friends, uh?” Soobin admits and turns to the side, ready to leave once you reach him.
“What’s that even supposed to mean?”
Beomgyu looks at Kai then back at Lia and smiles devilishly. “Ask Kai about it. He will tell you everything, right champ? You’ve been in the mood to spill the truth since yesterday night.”
Soobin can’t help but laugh a bit as he fully turns to leave with his cousin and you by his side.
If you wanted to plan things out, you’d have to buy some time, right? What was a better distraction than pinning them against each other for a little bit.
“Let them know about the documents you sent us, Huening!” Soobin nearly screams beginning to walk away and surprisingly, the three of you get to walk away with big smiles plastered on your faces. Seemingly in tune with each other for once. “And thanks for the honesty!”
“Go fuck yourself Soobin.”
