I have decided that I will try to ride Satin tackles this week, and her owner seems thrilled with the idea (weâre in need of entertainment at the barn). I will report back if I donât die.

âThe mists of Eriskay đ´đ´ Eriskay pony stallion prowling through the mist near Eriskay. The Eriskay pony is one of the oldest and rarest breeds in the UK. It is the last remnant of the western isles pony and survived extinction due to isolation by sea of Eriskay. It was utilized by the islanders until better connections were made to Uist and the Mainland. During this period, machines became more available replacing the work of the ponies, threatening their existence. These ponies are critically rare and hardly found outside the British Isles đ´â°. There were around twenty left in the world during the 1970âs, and due to the hard work of the crofters and locals, they saved the breed and formed the mother society and studbook (@eriskaypony_original_society). Eriskays have a very dense coat that is shorter than most of our other natives, most likely an adaption for living by the sea. They are prized for their lovely temperament and willingness to work, which makes them an ideal family pony and working partner. Eriskay ponies are categorized as priority by Rare Breeds Survival Trustâ - Ruth on the Hoof

Took a decent âbeforeâ shot today so we can track how her body develops once sheâs in real work!
So: hereâs Kestrel, an approximately 8 year old Warm Springs mustang mare, 17 days into training on January 5th, 2021.
Hell yeah hell yeah hell yeah
August 15th, 2021. Today she had her first ride outside the round penâon a lead line, but still! It was her fourth ârealâ ride (with forward movement, steering, stopping on two reins). Iâve already noticed a difference in how she feels under saddle. Sheâs sturdier & learning to carry more weight, the saddle doesnât wobble side to side like it did even a few days ago.

Interview cat
This is a Finnish harness racer and a harness racing coach Matias Salo being interviewed for sport news.
Finnish translation:
Matias: âŚWeâve been here with the horsesâŚ
(Cat jumps in his lap)
The interviewer: I see youâve gotten some cats here as well. Um⌠(laughs)
(Cat keeps purring and headputting)
The interviewer: Itâs okay, we can continue.
(The video cuts off, the cat has been removed)
The interviewer: What is it based on? Wouldnât it be nicer to do wellâ-
(The cat returns and jumps in the interviewerâs lap and climbs up to her face)
The interviewer: â- when its warmer and thereâs more light andâ
Matias: Sure, it would be. Of course, summer is nice. In the winter the longer trips for harness racing competitions are over, and we race somewhere closer to home. (chuckles)
(The cat is distracting both of them)
The interviewer: Yes⌠Yeah⌠(laughs)
(Everyone laughs)
The interviewer, laughing at the camera: I canât say anything! The purring is so loud! Matias, tell me; do I have something on my shoulder?
Matias, laughing: No. Absolutely nothing.

If anyone was wondering what daily life with Hermes is like, let this be your explanation:
I had to lift his feet out of the bowl heâd put them in because he couldnât work out how to get out of it on his own and was upset because the others had left him.
