He was devious, YES, sometimes even CRUEL, but he was also soft in ways few understood beneath all the sharp-worded taunts and witty silver tongue, but most of all he was wanting of a HOME. For all his sorcery and knowledge, he could not figure out his own HEART, perceptive in all but himself - and this would be his ( downfall ). He was a BURNING man and none had the cure to the flames, so he would embrace the world and have it FALL to ASHES besides him.

It’s a bad habit he’s taken to, pressing at the skin against his hand, leaving crescent impressions, fading red to whites. The words of villains never meant much to him, but being among them, their whispers sat and festered.  He had been sad enough times in his life to recognize the stuttering pain in his heart to belong to remorse and regret.

There was no longer the gentle hands of friends ( was he allowed to call them that anymore? ) to break him out of his spiraling anger. He was angry at his father, and these days even his mother who had once looked so beautiful in his memories, a beacon of hope, and a truth that good existed. Most of all, he found he was angry at himself.

“Kirishima -” he questions softly. Quiet enough that it was permission for the red-head to walk away and not concern himself problems he brought unto himself.

“Do they say things to you sometimes? Things that you do not want to hear?”

   Eijirou was always making a conscious effort to ignore whatever the villains surrounding him talked about for this very reason. The environment was the inverse of Yuuei - uninviting, cruel, reckless - so it was no surprise when they gossiped about having not just one, but two of Yuuei’s students on their side. It was like a punishment for choosing such a lifestyle. What they specifically said about him though...

“Sometimes -” he paused, hesitating as he remembered what his so-called allies had whispered behind his back ( or even in front of him - they had no qualms about doing that ). Looking at the floor, he began again; “They call me fake a lot. Just the other day they were insulting my hair.” He rubbed the back of his neck and let out a self-deprecating laugh. They had done far worse things than badmouth his hair, but it was easier to make his problems smaller and irrelevant rather than acknowledge them as things that actually hurt him. “They probably say worse things to you, though.”

There wasn’t much of a probably, Eijirou heard them discussing Todoroki whenever they got a chance - about how ironic it was that he was Endeavor’s son and what he would think if he knew about it. The talks were vile and had an undertone of seriousness to them, as if they wished for Endeavor to know. It made Eijirou queasy to know they lacked any apprehension.
