He laughed, watching her with a slight smirk. “I never said you were foreign, I simply said that I thought you didn’t drink often. Unlike I, who drinks, very often.”
“In that case, no. I prefer for it to be something that relaxes me from time to time rather than a necessity in life, like most make it out to be.” Ingrid spoke bluntly.
“Ah, but focusing on the negatives has always been my strong suit, I’m afraid,” Andromeda sighed. “I suppose I shouldn’t be offended by a load of muggles thinking I’m ugly. Especially since I’ll never meet any of them any how.”
“And why’s that? Surely there’s a reason.” Ingrid couldn’t help but frown. “Exactly, and surely if they did, they wouldn’t think you were for even a second. You really have nothing to worry about.”
“It happens? That’s unacceptable. Your attention is no longer valuable, I’ll be on my way now.”
“Unacceptable? You sound worse than my mother. Stay, loosen up and let me buy you a drink or ten, because you most definitely need it.”
↳ Character name: Ingrid Selwyn. ↳ Age: 20 years old. ↳ Gender: Female. ↳ Pronouns: She/her. ↳ Affiliation: The Order of the Phoenix.
“Been tryin’ hard not to get into trouble, but I, I’ve got a war in my mind”
↳ Biography:
In the small farming region of Norway, just north of the larger city of Trondheim one would be able to find a place by the name of Surnadal. There was a family with the last name of Selwyn. To those that had little to no background in magic, the family was invisible, however to those who were in the know, the family was incredibly known. Ingrid and her brother were the children of the acting Minister of Magic for Norway, and being such, they were always held to a high standard.
However, within a year of her birth, Norius was killed while overseas on business, leaving his brother in charge as a stand-in while they found a replacement. This however never happened, as the country seem to appreciate the change, and Nikolai’s harsh ways. A few years down the road, at the age of eight, tragedy struck again for Ingrid when she was diagnosed with a heart disease. The healers told the family to prepare for the worse, as during that time there wasn’t much in terms of potions to help cure such an illness. It wasn’t until the mother, Viola was approached with a cure that they saw a small sliver of hope, but instead of telling the rest, she kept it between her and Nikolai.
The two came up with the plan, and made a deal with the healer with a cure to keep it secret, it wasn’t difficult with the money they had. Viola then went so far as to fake Ingrid’s death, convincing everyone that she had truly died before sending her off with her cruel grandparents to be raised like a proper young lady.
After that, Ingrid was relocated to a small village just outside of Switzerland’s capital, forced to start schooling in a small, unknown school once she was of age. It wasn’t until the age of 15 that she managed to run while on a trip with the class, somehow managing to find her way back to England, where her grandmother Agnes and brother was staying. After finalizing her school at Hogwarts, Ingrid made her name in the dragonologist world.
PERSONALITY:
Having been raised in such a harsh way that she was, one would think Ingrid would be a harsh, cruel person, however that is far from the case. Ingrid is full of life, and is dying to experience all that life possibly has to offer. She has grown up to be a kindhearted and accepting young lady, not concerned by where others stood in terms of class, unlike her mother back at home and her grandparents.
However, like everyone she had her downfalls, she became rebellious from an early age, often finding herself sneaking out against the knowledge of those that raised her. She wanted to become her own person, she wanted to be independent. Unfortunately though, being raised in the family, she was distanced from most and therefore has a tendency to be fairly naive at times, especially in new settings.

I was home-schooled , was always very close with my mom && was very straight-laced && square . I was never the rebellious one , && I never threw hissy fits .
“They had to get that idea somewhere. If they all think like that, I mean. It just doesn’t make sense. I don’t send time with muggles but I’m not a fool who believes they’re some unnatural color or extremely ugly..”
"But you also are very aware that muggles exist, they believe us to be a myth. So, think of the positives. It doesn’t do anyone any good to focus on the negatives.”

“Really? I find this offensive. How’d they like it if we grossly misinterpreted them one night a year? When has a witch ever looked remotely close to this?”
"I wouldn't say it's their fault, they have movies that paint a picture for them. I don't know, my grandma enjoy playing films for us when we were growing up, so I took advantage and learned more about their culture. I think it's better that they think we look like that, that way a muggle born is never suspecting."
“So just to be clear loads of muggle children dress up on Halloween as witches and that’s what they think we look like?”
“I think it’s quite adorable to see the things they come up with, some of the costumes are super creative.”
“i asked if you wanted to grab a drink?”
"Oh definitely, you know you don't have to ask. I'm always free for a drink with good company."
“Clean out your ears, Selwyn, this is important.”
"My ears are just fine, I spaced out. It happens, you have my attention now.”
“Sarcasm doesn’t suit you, I’d stick to that doey look you seem to wear all the time. Eyes wide, mouth shut. Much more tolerable. Now, I suggest you give me back the spot where I sit every time I’m here.”
"Neither does me caring about what you think, I'll stick to what I please. The same can be said about you when you just do what most like you do and avoid me. I think I missed your name on this seat, so I'm going to keep my bum right where it is. There's a nice seat over there," Ingrid's lips curled into an amused smirk as she pointed to the chair located near the rubbish bin.
