âYou said my family was crazy. Doesnât that make me crazy in that definition, Amycus?â She knew that she had always been an exception in their family. The only blonde. The one that kept to herself the most. The one the most pressure was put on. She didnât feel like she belonged in their family, but then again, did anyone really? âMe. Iâm convincing me. Obviously. You know Iâm fine. I just really donât usually.â She had no idea why she was so truthful to him so suddenly, but she truested Amycus.              She was glad that he could still laugh about her frustration with Bella. The main reason why she was so bitter about her sister had nothing to do with her devotion. âAmyc, I do admire Bella for her devotion. I admire her a lot. I just wish -â she sucked in a deep breath of air and then took another sip of her drink. She studied Amycus first, almost hesitant about what she was possibly going to tell him, and grinned on his words about his sister. âYou sound as bitter as me,â she noted, shaking her head at him, however still amused. She felt for him.            âIâm not hexing my parents, I was talking about my sisters,â she chuckled. She couldnât ignore her parents as much as she wanted to. She loved them and she loved her sisters. They taught her two things: how to love her family was one of those. The other one was their blood purity belief system. âI know I ought to be careful, and youâre right, but I canât be. I donât know what to be careful about. Bella is off every other night doing things she wonât tell me about because Iâm not old enough. Lucius does the same thing three times per week. You do it. Alecto does it. And I donât know what the hell is going on. I canât grow up if no one ever tells me anything.â There. She said it. That was what bugged her most and that was what kept her the little girl she was. Â
âThere is an exception to every rule, Narcissa.â Amycus replied, waving her off. âLook at your darling cousin. Sirius. Heâs the exception to his family being fantastic. Regulus is exceptional.â Amycus shrugged then frowned, a little caught off guard by the way that she replied to his question. It was meant to be a sort of joke, but clearly that wasnât the way that she took it. âAre you fine?â He asked, his tone becoming a little more serious as he looked her over, Narcissa was someone that always seemed put together, at the moment she seemed like she was ready to fall apart. âYou donât usually what?âÂ
âYou just with what Cissa? Honestly all this trailing off is making it hard for me to carry on a conversation with you. I donât like guessing or playing games unless theyâre mind.â He watched as she continued to drink, loving how easy it had been for him to get her to drink something more than butterbeer. It wouldnât take long before she was spilling all her secrets to him. Including the ones about Bellatrix that he desperately wanted to know. She already seemed to want to tell him everything on her mind. âAs bitter as you? Impossible. Youâre like the sour candy that has sugar on the outside. People are deluded into thinking that youâre sweet because youâre outside is, but inside...â He trailed off, smirking slightly.Â
âAh well, in that case hex away. We all know that Bella could use it.â He laughed to himself, enjoying the thought of Narcissa trying to hex Bellatrix. He blinked a few times as she started to rant. âWhy are you so curious Narcissa? They donât really concern you, youâre not harmed by them, knowing wonât help you any. In fact you might struggle with the information that you learn. Why not just sit back and be happy that everyone comes home safely to you.âÂ
