So i read once that most people who experience sleep paralysis get a sense of overwhelming terror and dread (myself included), but that small number experience "euphoric bliss" and "orgasmic pleasure".

Anyway I kept thinking about it and getting really pissed off whenever I'd get sleep paralysis so I kept trying to force it to switch into the other and now I just get the paralysis by myself, in an empty room, no demons? Like.. did I sexually harass them at work? Did I make it weird?

#Jesus this makes me feel old. back in the day I was the lucky one cos my granddad was an alcoholic #so I could steal his smokes whenever I wanted one. turns out he did notice allegedly but who can be sure!#his daughter used to steal entire packs. they'd all grab a smoke when they visited. and most importantly. he was drunk nonstop!#he can claim he knew all he wants he also “knew” I was having sex in the house regularly. I literally was not #he just hated my high school boyfriend for being loud literally one time so naturally I was the problem #but yeah horrid old man but free smokes. so. it worked out. like. me and my partner both did that sorta shit #he lived in a trashier area so I assume some kid just bought and shared smokes etc but yeah. smoking and drinking when you could was a thing #like it was a rite of passage! watering down someone's alcohol to cover up drinking more than you meant to etc #it's nice to see it's clearly becoming less common cos it's Soo bad for you but it's also like. what do you mean NEVER #it's good but it's also sad like okay what bad thing is it now. what do kids do to rebel or have their lil moment?#i didn't drink or smoke much I didn't ever touch any drugs I never did much wrong #I had sex a bit younger than most of the people I knew and like sometimes smoked or drank a bit. all from like 14-16.#like I truly didn't do much. most of my alcohol was like one or two drinks tops. one smoke a day tops. it wasn't much ya know?#but I can't imagine what you'd do if those three weren't things you'd done like what's left #oh maybe secret piercings but like. that's literally worse than one cigarette if you diy it. I genuinely don't know #I can't think of any other low harm level rebellion moments. kids can't have shit these days huh. that's wild #loads vape I guess. which is worse. it's yummy they'll keep doing it. scatter cigarettes around for kids tbh.#my first cigarette was a half smoked dumper lol I got one puff in and was like eww? took me two years to try again #a vape I'd have gone insane with and that first failed attempt was at like 12 or 13 ya know. I needed to go ewww and not do it #I dunno it's just weird. like kids need a sneaky lil bad thing to do. and there's very limited options these days #a cigarette is a good one cos it's fucking gross so they're less likely to do it forever and ever. ya know?#now it's all vapes and sex. what happened to cigarettes and texting friends late at night! everything is escalating too far I think #I thought I was soooo slick texting friends all night when I was meant to be in bed. my friends got checked on #a few had to hand over their phones at night. now tiktok and videogames all night is normal and it's vapes and whatever #a stolen cigarette and midnight texting used to be enough! this is the real think of the children they need a rebellion cigarette okay

i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af

i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience
