I say this as someone who loves worldbuilding, but too many people seem to believe that what makes a story good is some imaginary Worldbuilding Score that increases with the level of detail you’ve put into the linguistics and economic systems instead of, like, telling a good story.
Also, leaving some things mysterious and unexplored can actually make your world feel bigger and more interesting. If you can tell us everything about your fictional planet in a few pages of exposition, your planet is pretty boring no matter how much research and detail went into those pages. Allowing readers to speculate and use their imaginations is good, actually.
it sounds like you might just like different things than some people.
I mean. Yeah?

partner and I recently started a new nightly routine where we pretend to be space aliens trying to learn about/appreciate human culture by having a bowl of ice cream and watching any <15 minute video youtube recommends us of people demonstrating great skill and dedication to some form of art. so far I would say it's been very successful. we have gotten to watch world champion indigenous hoop dancing, a pianist playing beethoven for an elephant, an armored MMA longsword cage match, russian folk dancing, the opening stanzas of the epic of gilgamesh performed in sumerian, mongolian throat singing, and a dramatic re-enactment of the JFK assassination using my little pony figurines

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
Chain lightning is the best wizard spell because you hit one person with a lightning bolt and then OTHER PEOPLE also get hit by a lightning bolt. Literally no downsides to casting it in every situation possible.

I wish I could make white people(and not just white Americans) understand how diverse the pre-columbian Americas were. The history, religion, culture, politics was at least as complex as Europe's. There was the full gamut of religions, from monotheists to animists to ancestral religions. There were city building empires, village farmers, nomadic traders, and so many other ways to live. This is all just based on what we know, the fragments left behind and the stories of survivors of an apocalyptic plague. All this before the most extended campaign of genocide in history was waged in an attempt to wipe out those survivors.
Over 500 years spent trying to cut down a whole trunk of human culture.
Do you understand how much poorer our whole species is because of it? Can you imagine where art, religion, and science would be if we still had these vast bodies of knowledge? The stain of the colonial project will never be fully washed clean. We owe more than just the land to those we stole from. We owe them a whole future, a future that could have been brighter for all of us. If only greed and fear weren't allowed to rule this land.
YES OMG BRÜNNHILDE
