Ghost, coming home late from a night out with the team, drunk off his ass and hardly coherent, realizes he's lost his keys.

He's lost his keys, but he has not lost the lockpicking set he always has on him. Thank god he is still good at lockpicking while drunk.

...unfortunately he's not as skilled at reading the apartment numbers.

He's in the middle of wondering who rearranged his furniture when there's a sharp pain in the back of his skull and it all goes black.

Cue you promptly freaking out because you probably killed your weird neighbor, he just crumpled onto the floor and– a sudden groaning, and the body rolls over to stare at you.

Did he just tank a bat to the head?? Nevermind. More importantly, you kneel down next to him and subtly press a touch to the back of the head, feeling for damage "sir? Are you okay? Should i call someone?"

"....god, love, yer pretty. Good swing." He slurs, head tilting back "...wanna get dinner sometime?"

Then he actually blacks out.

also hey. so. you know how when sometimes you experience really extreme stress about something minor but it's so intense it ruins your day? I saw someone who was a staple in the cod community (at least the one I follow) recently talk about falling out of love with cod. I also saw that ghoap had fallen almost 30 points on the ao3 ship board. and this is normal, like the last mw game was released in 2023, we likely won't be getting another until 2027, other stuff has been released and people are moving on. hell I haven't posted on this blog for months, maybe a year at this point, I don't know. but, like.... do you guys ever fear change in such an amorphous way that it paralyzes you? I'm turning 30 this year and I want to make changes and I can FEEL those changes coming. and it's scary. and I think to feel my real life changing so much and also to see things in the cod fandom changing, like I don't know.

nothing will remain. the only constant is change. but maybe within that change we can seek stability. maybe writing about soap needs to be my stability in a changing world.

this is very small and very personal and I think that I just kind of needed to, like, verbalize the anxiety I am feeling about all of this so it stopped taking up so much room in my head and I stopped trying to lie to myself that connection to this fandom isn't part of why I'm feeling upset and anxious.

Established!Ghoap who dress each other before missions, putting the tac-vests on the other, tightening up the straps, running hands down each other's front to be certain that nothing is out of place.

Ghost who puts extra pencils in his pockets in case Soap runs out of his own and can't sketch, Ghost who puts snacks he knows Soap likes in his pockets, extra C4 because he knows Soap will run out of it, Ghost who dedicates an entire leg full of pockets for extra medical things because he can't stomach the idea of Soap getting hurt and not being able to treat the wound.
