townie hairdresser: more sensible hair for randomly generated sims by dropish
even if you use a mod to override or fix townie outfit generation, you might have noticed that ts4 townies still tend to make strange hairstyle choices: terrible dye jobs, horrendously-patterned headbands, and so forth.
well, i got fed up with that. i went through every single vanilla hair and disabled certain hairs for random. hairs which are multicoloured, accessorized, or highly situational have been disabled, as well as hairs with massive foreheads.
i also disabled the blonde swatches of afro-textured hairs. no more asian sims with blonde dreadlocks!
all together, with these overrides installed, townies’ hair should not clash with their outfits, and their hairstyle choices will usually be more appropriate for their context.
more info and download below the cut :)
notes
you will still be able to select these hairs and swatches in cas for your own sims if you wish, and any existing sims who use them will still have them. this mod just disables these hairs and swatches from being selected for newly generated randomized sims.
if you use any hairs or swatches this mod disables on your own sims, they will be marked as containing cc when uploaded to the gallery. if you want to make sure they aren’t marked as cc, just temporarily remove the overrides before uploading the household.
this mod is biased toward a modern north american everyday context, so if your game takes place in a different setting, keep that in mind.
for best results, use in combination with the following mods:
mc command center and any mc dresser file, like this one
no makeup and no accessories on randomized sims
preset selection for randomized sims
african male ya template fixes
IMPORTANT compatibility information DO NOT SKIP
please note that these are overrides and as such will conflict with any default replacements which edit the same hairs. i have provided the unmerged files so you can delete any files that conflict with your replacements. you can merge the remaining files when you’re done.
i am 90% sure that this mod will conflict with cas sanity by helaene, as we override some of the same files.
download from google drive
only install the overrides for packs you own. i don’t have all the kits, so let me know if any hair is missing.
if after installing this mod you notice a weird-looking vanilla hairstyle on your townies that you want disabled for random, send me a picture of the hair and i’ll update the mod to include it!
merged files (recommended!)
unmerged files (only use to resolve conflicts)
Three variations on a vaguely Japanese-inspired robe, and two bonus recolors of Chereindolente's corsets.
BARE / CORSET / BLOUSE
The bare version is required for the other two to function properly. 50 swatches each - 30 solids in my usual palette, and 20 cherry blossom prints. BGC.
UNTUCKED v1 / TUCKED v2
30 swatches each. Recolor of @chere-indolente's La Repasseuse corsets. Meshes (plain v1 & plain v2) required.
UPDATE: Arms crossed issue fixed thanks to help from @surely-sims! Please redownload the BARE file if you are having issues with the robes looking like this in game. Thank you @simming-in-the-rain for letting me know about the issue!
30 solids and 2 lacy parasols (black and white). Inspired by impressionist paintings! These override the Seasons umbrellas that show up in game. They are not CAS accessories.
I've spent a large portion of the last year perusing & creating my own family tree of European monarchies. It clicked, recently, while building a home for my little royal sims that this exploration could be transfered into art to decorate their homes. The project spiraled, and it has now turned into a series of many recolors, which will be uploaded in the coming weeks as I build, buy, & dive deeper into history :D
thank you to @thejim07, whose mesh was used in the creation of this work.
mesh is included in download, due to stability issues of MTS.
A few people have requested I make the corset from my mannequin set wearable as a top, and I've finally gotten around to it! It had to be adjusted a little bit, but I think it looks better this way.
Since I have tried my best to follow the actual structure of a proper S-curve, it features a flat front, small waist, curved hips and back, and sits at the midbust. It might appear a bit risqué if you use realistic skins 😅
Also, the bow will become enlarged with bigger busts. There's simply no way to get around this when adding floating details to the front.
This post includes:
ye olde wooden washtub — a recolour by silverseaming
this is simply an extremely rough and ready recolour of the wash tub that came with the laundry day stuff pack. i found myself wanting a more medieval option for my ultimate decades challenge, and then only good alternative i could find was perma-paywalled so i thought i'd share my version with everyone!

This has been on my mind since foreveeeeer, and I actually started this project last year sometime but never finished it. It's here now though, and it is an updated version (that leans more maxis match) of my medieval items for Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod. I love some good historical gameplay, and I love Pandasama's mod, but it is very modern for obvious reasons. There are several aspects of the mod that work really well for historical gameplay though, like the homebirths specifically. This set contains three standalone items as well as an override for the pregnancy test. Please note that none of these objects work without Pandasama's mod, and all credit for the mod and original items goes to them. A big thanks to Pandasama for creating such an amazing mod! I'd also like to give a big thank you to Simverses, an amazing historical cc creator, who graciously allowed me to use two of their meshes for the birth tubs.
Download Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod here.
You can find all items by either searching for [scandisim] or Pandasama in the catalog. All items except for the pregnancy test override, which is a debug item, has custom thumbnails.

Medieval Pregnancy Test
EA mesh resized
Overrides the pregnancy test that comes with the mod so that when you take a test on the toilet this will show up instead
Inspired by historical recounts originating in Egypt of women urinating on wheat as a pregnancy test. If it sprouted that meant you were with child!
Yellow = negative, and green = positive
Can also be found in debug if you'd like to use it for deco purposes
How to install:
Simply drop all files into your Mods folder, but make sure that my files are above the mod files or the override may not work correctly.
Thanks again to Pandasama and Simverses! Let me know if you run into any issues <3
Limoneto Beach Club · 40x20 · Small Business Venue
Sand, sun, and a hint of lemon… an indulgent day awaits your Sim at Limoneto Beach Club of Tartosa. During the day, patrons can lounge by the water, enjoy treats from the cafe, or relax in one of the luxury cabanas. By night, this club turns into a romantic oceanside bar, where your sim can enjoy a spritz or antipasto. Use the Small Business venue type for ultimate customization!
I love building various beach clubs on this lot. Ultimately I think the green/yellow/lemon aesthetic really suits Tartosa! I wanted something that was a good balance of color, Italian charm, but also sleekness. Somewhere cool where I'd want to spend the day at the beach!
Hotel Arnessa · 50x50 · Boutique Hotel · CC Linked
A stay at Hotel Arnessa is the height of la dolce vita. Formerly the summer villa of famed Princess Cordelia, it was lovingly restored to a boutique hotel, hosting the most glamorous Sims on their holidays in Tartosa. Full of historical details and charm, the hotel overlooks Porto Luminoso with panoramic views of the sea.
Multiple bars, including a penthouse wine bar and terrace, cater to your Sim’s finest tastes. Enjoy a view of the tranquil pool sitting on the rear loggia, or book the hotel’s expansive tower suite, which boasts its own sea view terrace and a parlor in the villa’s historic former bell tower.
Note - this build is CC-heavy! To reduce the amount of CC needed, download only the build CC and decorate the interior with your own touch! My own recolors, and mod files that have been perma-paywalled, or straggling files where the creator/set are unclear, are included in the below tray download link.
I also strongly recommend downloading Lijoue's Boutique Hotel mod!
So, the marriage isn't working out, but at least your Sim will look cute with this layered pixie with fluffy curls and a punch of that early 90s volume. It takes real confidence for any princess to wear her hair short.
For my Vanilla-ish Save I have this Orphanage with their own famers market/store and I wanted some produce baskets, because the Get 2 Work fridges do NOT work with small businesses...So I made these and sharing, guz why not.
Violà! My latest conversions set converted from The Sims 2: this is Cashcraft's Vanity Fair Sewing Room. I have seen some of these items converted by other creators, but some items I have not seen at all. I have certainly tried to improve on the items released by others - hopefully you prefer to use my versions 😂
In my tableaux, I have made a little dress-maker's store - the last item from the set happened to be a cash register, so it completely transformed how I viewed the set.
There's also a few pieces I decided not to convert: a separate sewing machine, the sewing machine table without the machine there, and a table lamp that I felt didn't really go with anything.
In Cashcraft's Sims 2 set, the sewing machine functioned in some way. I don't have The Sims 2, so I don't actually understand how it worked, or whether it really did anything other than play an animation.
I have, however, made the sewing table behave like a desk - so you can have sims sit there if you want to take some pictures or something for a story, or it can just be decorative.
Miscellaneous paraphernalia (separate to the above mention)
Pile of thread spools
Ribbons
Pin cushion
Sewing machine oil can
"Sewing shelf" (it's more of a fabric wall display with a pinboard)
Sewing cabinet
Work table
Treadle sewing machine
Freestanding sewing basket (/box table thing)
Tabletop sewing basket (/box)
Cash register
IF you have Cottage Living, the sewing baskets function as a box for embroidery, plus hold storage, so you can store all your wool and thread etc. If you don't have CL, these items will be decoration only (plus deco slots on the free-standing one, so you can use it as a table).
IF you have Get To Work, the Cash Register functions as a Retail Store cash register (this will not show in game as deco if you do not have GTW).
The cash register will only sit on a specific slot type - this is included on a lot of shop counter cc (I hope all!), and there's three EA ones in game.
OKAY, companion mods! If you have Cottage Living, I really recommend @janesimsten's mods:
Functioning Spinning Wheel
Extra Cross-Stitch Patterns
Download the Vanity Fair Sewing Room set from my Patreon here!!
Please recolour if you want! Let me know if you have, and I would love to share!
Let me know if you have any questions, but please don't suggest more things for me to convert -- I already have a HUGE to-do list, and I really don't want to focus all my time on Sims 2 conversions.
the shawl is inspired by ancient Finnish costumes that can be seen, for example, here. iron age in Finland apparently lasted from 500 BC until 1300 AD.
I've been blabbering all over the internet about my Finnish/Karelian roots anyway, but I'll mention it again just for good measure :D other than that, it's a commission.
two pattern options, both come in the 28 swatches of the historian palette. found in glasses. uses the texture space for both bracelets and ring fingers: it will conflict with anything that uses the same texture space. blurry as hell, I know. there wasn't much space to fit it in. some slight clipping around the elbows, otherwise I'm quite satisfied.

on a side note, I went to Tallinn on my birthday and got to see the Medieval Days 😭 I shot a bow and brought home a fox's tooth. the best day of my life.
I've had these in my WIP folder awaiting previews for months now BUT since it's @mrsracooney 's birthday (and also Christmas) I decided it was about time I released these conversions I made for them!
20 conversions from the sims 3 for all your historical needs!
All BGC and for the most part decorative.
Come in all the original textures (but feel free to make any recolours your heart desires)
Download: Patreon (always free)
P.S. If you encounter any issues please let me know. I'm technically on a sims break right now and made these months ago as I said, I only hopped in game to take previews
