funny you should ask by elissa sussman 💓
This is great because a bunch of people are trying to be slick by tagging it as "color of the sky," accidentally outing themselves as not having used this site since 2019.
Red represents PASSION and LOVE it has much more positive meanings than negative and if you understood colour theory you'd know that.
I just wanna share this because I played almost 30 hours of the game like this and It just keeps getting worse and worse
I did the horrible mistake of naming the MC “Da Joker Baby” and I think this lead to to some of the dumbest fucking screenshots I have from the game
This is absolutely terrible
You know what? Destroy the "people in rural areas are all ignorant conservatives" stereotype and start mocking the "trad"/anti-feminist/neonazi people that are obsessed with rural areas despite having never been to one
I'm absolutely laughing my ass off at all these "Traditional Femininity" blogs that post nothing but aesthetic photos of supposed "Rural Life"
Lady this is a skinny influencer in a frilly white dress that's never had dirt on it, with her hair in professionally-done beachy waves, doing a photoshoot in a field using a basket of strawberries bought at walmart as a prop.

Can confirm, went to school with farm folk. The wrestling team was afraid of the 4H and Future Farmers of America girls.
I live in a no-stoplight-no-starbucks-no-fast-food town in the backwoods of Virginia, and I have seen a toothless redneck at the gas station go off on someone for being a dick about a trans woman, telling him that if he didn't want to show some basic manners, he should move up north.
INFORMATION I WAS NOT PREPARED TO LEARN. MAYBE WE *ARE* ALONE. BECAUSE WE ARE SO *EARLY*. IF THERE IS EVER GALACTIC CIVILIZATION THEY WILL NOT REMEMBER US AT ALL. BECAUSE WE ARE NOTHING. CELLS, JUST BEGINNING TO FORM LIFE. SORRY FOR SCREAMING. BUT ARE YOU LISTENING. ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT IT.
oh my god. they were right. they were right all along:
i just saw a tiktok (<- cursed cursed site) that started out good, talking about how "show don't tell" is something you should keep in mind. It used the example of "instead of saying 'she opened the door', try 'her shaking hand twisted the doorknob, letting out a loud creak'".
And, yeah, if you're trying to convey the hesitance, fear, and eventual sucking-it-up that seems to be going on in the scene, that's great.
But.
The tiktok ended with, "see? Showing is ALWAYS better." And I just...
Friends & enemies, that's how you end up with that insufferable always-showing always-active YA writing style that does not know when to just shut up and say "she opened the door".
Because, yeah, I'll say it. Sometimes "she opened the door" IS better. Sometimes, the act of opening the door is literally just announcing a setting change, and you don't need to focus on it.
Show don't tell is about conveying important or relevant information, not about literally everything you're writing. You're allowed to say "she opened the door" & similar, and in fact, I encourage it in many scenarios.

LITTOL BENCH TRIO MY MOST BELOVED AND CARED
One of these days I will get on my high horse and tell y'all why Snow White is actually a really cool Disney princess and y'all are just mean
Do you need me to help lift you into the saddle or what?
Actually no, because the longer I stood in the shower the angrier I got over this so buckle up
First off, Snow White is 14 years old. Yeah, you read that right. She's the youngest in the Disney Princess™ lineup, and honestly? Had I not listened to my friends about how she was an anti-feminist princess (which I will get to later hang on) she would've been the most relatable to me out of all of the Disney Princesses™.
This poor 14-year-old kid lost her mom and dad and now had to live under a woman who didn't want her. Not only that but one that abused her by making her do the housework in her own home while her stepmom raked in the benefits of being queen.
And let me tell you, as an abuse victim, I wanted to be Snow White. I didn't want to be a bitter, jaded, fearful person. I wanted to still hold onto that optimism. I wanted to still be kind. I wanted to believe one day things were going to get better if I just held on a little longer. People say that she should've done something about the situation, but she was a) 14 and b) isn't that blaming the victim by saying that she shouldn't let herself have been abused wrong it's 2021 I thought we were better than that
But like, you see this face? That optimism? How she knows things are pretty awful but she's not going to let that witch of a stepmom get her down because she knows life is going to get better she just has to get there? You keep doing what gets you through there sweetheart sing in that well to your heart's content.
Now, let's move on when she actually gets out of there. First off, kudos to the huntsman for not being the Biggest Dick Of Them All and avoiding stabbing Snow White in the back when she was not doing anything wrong and probably died because of it. However, he gets -100 points for freaking her the hell out and having her run through the woods when she has no idea where she's going.
I mean, imagine, some dude is scaring the crap out of you and now your brain is making everything look like a threat, because before life was just crappy, but now you know someone is trying to kill you and has a good chance of succeeding. Then you run into these creepy-ass trees everywhere, things are reaching out and grabbing you, and you're alone and don't know how to defend yourself. And you're a kid.
Like, I'd break down and cry too.
Then, thankfully because the animals had her back, she runs into the Dwarf's cottage. And she looks around this dirty place and concludes that kids- no orphans- are living here. This 14-year-old girl really looked around and went "Well, I'm your mother now sorry no I do not take criticism" and gets to work. Like she did not half-ass anything. She gives them kisses when they go to work. She makes them food. Even criticizes them when they don't wash their hands and makes them do it. Girl's got mother-of-the-year vibes and didn't even have a mom to teach her how to do this stuff.
Like she really went "I suffered and I'm not going to let you suffer like I did." What a badass.
And now let's look at this girl's talents. She can sing and has a beautiful voice. She can orchestrate animals to do her bidding. She can cook and bake. Man, if you told me Snow White was a witch and didn't know it, I'd believe you.
But anyway let's skip over my favorite scene in the movie because as much as it puts a smile on my face it doesn't fit this rant, and let's get into when she lets the evil witch into her house.
Like, imagine you see this old woman being attacked by your friends for doing nothing visibly wrong. Standing up to your friends? That takes courage. And now she's offering this strange woman water and a place to rest with no plan on having this woman pay her back at all.
What a genuinely good person.
Of course, her kindness is her own downfall and there is the whole poison apple thing, which, didn't Disney do the plot where Beast in Beauty and the Beast didn't let the beggar woman in and got cursed for it? Like, pick a side here Disney do we let the old witch in or not?
Anyway, I digress.
Now, let's get back to that pin about how she's an anti-feminist princess and a bad role model for girls and why I think that's utter bull.
1) Snow White is never forced to do any of the cooking, cleaning, housework, etc. when she's with the dwarfs. It's all her own choice. She chose to do it, then makes the comment that maybe they'll let her stay if she does. Sounds like she wants to be there doing that stuff, and by the way she sings and romanticizes it, I'd agree that she's definitely having fun. You go girl do what you love.
2) The whole "girl's problems are all solved by a man" argument. Well I mean, yeah, but it's not because of the prince. It's the seven dwarfs. Like, people really do look over the fact that these men adopted Snow White into their lives as much as she adopted them. They gave her a place to stay. These seven men really don't get enough credit. She was safe and happy with them before the prince came along. She didn't wait for the prince to save her. He didn't do anything except kiss her in the end and ride off into the sunset. She's the one who got out of her situation with the help of people who cared about her, not wait for a prince on a horse to come get her.
3) Femininity and Feminism are not opposites. You can be a stay-at-home mom and still be a feminist. In fact, I think it's pretty cool girls have someone to look up to if they want to stay at home and raise a family, especially if they don't have a good parental figure of their own. Raising a family is a huge job and responsibility, and it's not one that should be taken lightly. Fight the idea of being forced to be a family woman, not the idea of choosing to be a family woman. Mom is a job title, you're just not paid for it.
4) She has no personality and she's just fantasy porn for men? Like, did we watch the same movie? I mean, yeah, a man can watch it and have a power fantasy, but a man can do that with strong, independent women too but in a different way. Besides, my girl is out here being kind, compassionate, charismatic, and carefree. She even sasses Grumpy back when he gives her attitude. She's got personality; it's just not one well respected by the masses.
In conclusion, Snow White is a good role model for young girls who want to be kind and compassionate. She's not perfect, nor should every princess be like her, but after Disney has repeatedly done the girlboss trope to death as of recent, it's kind of refreshing to look back and see a gentler, more feminine but not anti-feminist approach to a Disney Princess™.
And that's all I have to say about that for now.
