This is such an obvious scam but I had a good laugh.
This Tumblr Blog reached out to me and we spoke on Whatsapp. @bangchann-1
I was interested to see what they have to say and they didn't dissapoint!
Please look out for these kinds of scammers! They are NOT who they say they are! Don't get fooled! They will have other blogs and names, but do not fall for any of it!
After my last post, someone who asked to remain anonymous reached out to me to share their story on the topic. So, here is the human side of this war.
They told me that they started reading fanfiction as a young person, as most of us do, and that they fell in love with fanfiction quickly. Because "what do you mean you can rewrite and change the story to a book/movie/series, or even insert yourself or your original character into it?"
They said they were scared to write and share their story ideas, claiming they weren't good enough. They never mentioned this to their friends and family, it was just something hidden. They didn't believe anyone would support them.
But then, courage came, and they began to post. Since they had started writing before creating an account and posting, they had quite a number lined up, but they slowly posted them one by one.
At first, everything was fine. Few people liked, reblogged or even commented.
Then one day, the AI comments started.
"Seriously, chatgpt?"
"This is clearly AI."
"AI..."
And alike.
At first, it was just one comment, but soon, it grew.
The writer started to delete these messages, but it made them look bad. They didn't do anything wrong, so why were they cleaning up?
A few weeks passed, the comments stopped, and more positivity came, people followed their blog, and the majority was nice.
But every time they pressed "Post" in the back of their mind, the voices never stopped.
They began to think that every post would grow the negativity. And they hated that.
Then, a person sent them a private message.
Claiming they know their secret, and that the secret was that everything they post is AI-written.
No matter how much this person rejected the idea, it was almost as if a bullying campaign started.
Every single post of theirs was now filled with claims, attacks and negativity. Exactly what they didn't want.
They felt like their blog became a joke.
Now, some people were trying to defend, but at that point, the damage was done.
Unfortunately, the bad started to outweigh the good, and they deleted their blog with all their writing. All of it, gone from one second to another.
They sometimes log into their other account to read some fanfiction, but writing is something they will never do again.
So let me ask you this, would you be happy? As the person writing the comments under each post, would you be happy that you ruined an ambitious young writer's dreams?
Simply because you trusted an AI detector.
I believe we should encourage people. Make them happy to post and not bully them into deleting their blog. Especially if we have no concrete proof of whether the piece is AI-written or not.
How much do you trust AI detectors? How can a writer prove that their piece is written by them and not AI?
----
And here are my thoughts.
I will never agree to the fact that people copy and paste AI generated slob and get praise for it. I refuse to call AI generated pictures AI "art", it is the furthest thing from art.
I also will never agree with the fact that people should attack and claim something is AI, based on what? Another form of AI?
Have you ever tried to copy a piece let's say from 2010-2016 into it? I did. It said it's 96% AI written... there was no AI back then, not this advanced at least. (I did this with more than one piece. The majority came back AI written.)
And for my final thoughts, I believe we should all respect those who write/create any form of art, not without doubt, but there has to be a better way communcating that filling up their comments with hate.
Recently, I have noticed a growing number of comments under fanfiction pieces claiming the poster used AI to write their piece. And it made me think, how do people claim such things without actually looking into it?
From what I could research, AI was intended to mimic human behaviour. You can easily upload a piece of fanfiction and tell AI to write an entirely new idea in the same style, using similar words.
What makes someone think that a person is using AI? Is it because the piece is well-written? Is it because it's too perfect?
I can never find the real meaning behind this. I have uploaded 5 different fanfiction pieces from different people, and the conclusion was always the same, either it is, or it isn't written by AI.
So, I went ahead and uploaded it into a detector, and almost all came back AI-written. Mind you, 3 of those pieces were from 2028-2022, when AI wasn't present.
So, in my opinion, we cannot listen to a detector or ChatGPT to tell us whether the piece we read is AI-written or not.
What if they do use AI?
Whenever I read a piece of fanfiction, I always just read and move on. I mean, those people don't earn money by posting their writing on Tumblr or AO3 or whatever. But, does that make it okay?
What if someone uses AI and corrects it, extends the piece, and almost completely rewrites it? Would that still make it an AI piece?
But what if they put a disclaimer? Would that make it aright?
And what if they don't use AI?
Many of the writers who have been accused of using AI started posting way before AI even became a thing. They are seasoned writers with stories to share. Those kinds of people, I would expect that, with time, their writing becomes better and better, perhaps even approaching an AI-like quality.
But even so, should we care?
The internet has always been interesting in the way that people hide behind a username. Thinking they can't be hurt because the people online will never show up to their face, will never know who they are.
But, if you choose to do this, remind yourself that there is a real person behind the other end, a person like you, who will get hurt.
I have been noticing a lot of big companies using AI for commercials or advertisements. No one seems to care about that. And yet they make billions.
So, should we care that a piece of fanfiction that was posted online for free is written or co-written by AI? And should we claim that something is AI-written that might actually not be?
You: Hey, wanna take a shower with me?

This little message has been on the bottom of all of my works, on top of my Masterlist and even in my Bio for a reason.
Yet, it looks like some people just don't get it.
I write because I enjoy writing, not for people to copy, repost and gain views/likes whatever.
Each story posted here is MINE unless credit states otherwise.
NO ONE has permission to repost, translate or STEAL anything.
They are my babies, and you don't have permission to take them!
I would hate to go down like many other Tumblr writers due to plagiarism.
EVEN if you put my name as credit I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION.
I have done it in the past, those can obviously stay, but for a long time now, I do not want my stories to be posted by other people.
I have a Wattpad, AO3 and Tumblr for a reason.
These are my main accounts and only these should have my works on them. PERIOD.
I would get it if people got inspired, wrote a continuation or reached out to me regarding an idea. But just copying and pasting something off of Tumblr and posting it elsewhere IS NOT OKAY.
Recently, someone wrote to me on Wattpad saying someone has been reposting mine and other people's fanfiction.
And yes, 4 of them were stolen from me and I found many of other people's works as well. 2 out of the 4 didn't even mention my account name anywhere, which makes it look like the person posting is the writer.
PLAGIARISM
Now, one can say it is only fanfiction what's the big deal?! The big deal is that I spend hours or days on something that someone just steals!
IT IS NOT OKAY.
Please if you see this, report report report. Post a comment, and let the people know about the thief!
You: How do I deal with my enemies?
Tom Riddle: Kill them
You: That's a bit extreme, I was hoping for a more passive solution
Tom Riddle: Kill them only a little?
