someone told me the other day it made sense to call me a bandwagoner because i like a historically good team and a team that's good more recently.

what the shit? i didn't pick the habs because oh they won a bunch of stuff, and the most recent example of this occurred when i was 5!! they sucked the first year i watched them. i didn't just pick them because they are the most successful historically. i tried watching other teams first, and i did not like them, and then habs were next on the list and that's that.

i like the blues because they are the affiliate to my favorite AHL team. it just happened that i started watching them when guys would be called off. and they're good recently? wow they make the playoffs and immediately get knocked out, SO GOOD YEAH

i bet if i was a guy this shit wouldn't ever be said.

meanwhile at thanksgiving i heard this too, because my family is a bunch of blackhawks fans...you wanna talk about bandwagoning, i brought up something about andrew shaw once and my mom had no idea who he was and i had to tell her he was on the blackhawks. i am not even kidding, i don't think they know who hossa is. 

and then one of them told me the blackhawks are the most recent team to win the cup, i guess we watched different playoffs this summer.

and then i was told "you only like them cause they're cute!" ...they're...not. i am closer to 30 than i am to 15, i'm not picking things based on cute boys, nor do i think i have for like...10 years. 

and if i was a guy, nobody would say that to me.

I wrote this the week after Mike Brown was shot. I naively thought that this case would be different. That Darren Wilson would be punished, at the very least fired or pressured to resign. I thought that public outcry would mean something. I have never been more angry. I have never been more outraged. I wish I could say I were surprised.
