my contribution to @creatingblackcharacters Melanin Beam Challenge is Queen from Deltarune!! I don't have as detailed thoughts on the choice to make her Black as I did with Susie last year, because for Queen it's basically that I think she's a really fun, silly, confident character who knows her worth and is pretty much universally loved and I think that would be a really nice character for Black women & girls to be able to see themselves in. It was really fun to do this challenge, I haven't had time to draw in months and having a goal was really exciting :)

I did @creatingblackcharacters melanin beam challenge with Athena Cykes from Ace Attorney! I technically drew the first picture last year, but I touched her up a little and this is my first time posting her. I also strongly dislike cannon!Athena's outfit so I gave her a new one -- I was trying to capture her cannon athleticism while giving her something practical and that also felt African.
The second drawing is featuring a joke about Trucy being really strong and Pearl being really fast from @savedatateam 's playthrough of AA3 and AA5.

Abraham's only physical descriptors are he's tall and has 'reddish hair'. I don't think I've seen anyone HC him as Black before, but I think it adds a lot to his character!
Abraham only signs up to participate on The Long Walk as a whim and half-asses the required exam, yet still gets picked, to his own shock. Because who's easier to exploit for their bodies than white folk that are poor and desperate? People of color, most especially Black folk.
Abraham is a fan favorite that many book readers are sad didn't make it into the film adaptation, and I'm one of them. So it was fun bringing him to life here!
