"Runaway," is a digital piece I created in Adobe Photoshop. The assignment was to create "Hell," so I decided the best way to get a reaction would be to make it personal. What's worse than running away from your own demons for eternity? If you look closely, you also might realize that the rivers in her mind turn into waterfalls on her face, and if she looks away from where she's going for too long, she just might fall off the edge.
This is definitely my favorite piece from my digital illustration class, and I'm so happy with how it came out!
Hello all! I am so proud to show you my full page editorial with title page, so in a way it’s ALMOST a double page spread, but we’ll get there. I chose to illustrate the Rolling Stone Magazine article titled “Visions of Joanna.” Joanna Newsom is an eccentric modern-day harp player whose music is a mixture of Celtic folk and 60s pop. She’s also an avid birdwatcher and this illustration was inspired by the aesthetic of her 2015 album, Divers. Adobe Photoshop, Digital, 11 x 17”.
Long time no speak! I’ve been very busy with school, but the first projects for all my classes have been completed. This is my first editorial project referring to an article from Parents magazine on getting your child to cooperate. The assignment was to design a quarter page illustration and I had SO much fun. It was my first time attempting motion blur with traditional mediums as well as drawing a bike 😂 There’s more room for improvement, but I’m happy that with the output I was also able to reveal my soul.
7.5 x 5.25” mixed media (watercolor and colored pencil) on bristol paper.
When I went to print I got a few more for the same price since they were so small, so I will have 3 x 4.4” prints up in my shop soon and maybe I’ll turn this into a Father’s Day card later!
I'm happy to FINALLY reveal this piece to the public. It was definitely a labor of love, but I would do anything for Danielle. With the stress of school, I hope this can hang on her wall and bring a smile to her face whenever she glances at it. I truly hope that all of my commissions or prints can bring a little sunshine to their owners as well 😊 I'm in love with how a coat of varnish can liven up an oil painting! -- 8x10" oil on stretched canvas with varnish.
Good morning! My friend Chris commissioned me to illustrate his Final Fantasy XIV character and I decided to use a technique that's a bit more casual and lighthearted than my usual oil paint. I used watercolor on heavy weight drawing paper as well as prismacolor pencils.

Not like you haven't seen this 100x before, but I wanted to include it with the rest of the pieces in my archive!
From the ART-chive: I call this one The Transformation, created with watercolors, oil paint, bits of newspaper and magazine, and spray painted doilies on 8.5x11" watercolor paper. It's based on the death tarot card, but even more so than that it represents transformation, change, and a new beginning. Each butterfly flutters in a different position and the third one lands on the young woman's third eye. She begins to absorb the color of the butterfly as if to show that she's being enlightened.
From the ART-chive: This piece--called the Dreamer--is definitely my favorite piece out of my entire concentration in AP Art. I based it on the Moon tarot card and used one of my favorite people as my muse for it. I created it on 11x14" watercolor paper with watercolors, acrylic paint, and torn up book pages for the background. Can you guess which book it came from? Don't worry the owner gave me permission.
The Moon represents illusion, subconscious, and intuition, so I took the opportunity to put this young woman's head in the clouds within her own dreamworld. The blue and gold impressionistic waves of the background represent not only brain waves but the gravitational pull of the moon on the ocean as well her emotions.
From the ART-chive: I based this piece, which I call The Authority, on another major arcana tarot card, the Emperor. I created it on 8x10" stretched canvas using sponged acrylic paint, tissue paper, and craft paper for the background and oil paint for the subject.
This tarot card usually represents establishment, structure, a father figure, and masculine energy. You can see the bold look in the eyes of the young man; however, I played around with the balance between masculine and feminine by using a stereo-typically feminine color scheme. That doesn't change the amount of power that he holds, though!
From the ART-chive: I call this one The Gatekeeper. It's based on the second major arcana tarot card, the High Priestess. I created it on a 9x12" canvas board with acrylic paint and torn up newspaper for the background and oil paint for the subject.
The high priestess' head is always in the game, calculating thoughts non-stop. In this piece, you can see the organized chaos of her mind through the torn up newspaper and circled words. The high priestess herself holds all the knowledge but never discloses it, represented by the transparent scarf covering her mouth.
I'm going to start sharing pieces from my ART-chive. This was one piece I created for my breadth in AP Art, and personally one of my favorites! I love all of the different textures I created with a cardboard base, white gesso, newspaper, watercolor, colored pencils, and acrylic paint. It's time for tea!
My friend James happily let me practice a 4x4" oil portrait of him on stretched canvas. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out! Right now, I'm working on a group portrait commission for another friend, and I can't wait to finish that one as well and show you all.
With each commission I'm going to include a free 2x2" sticker just because 😊 I love being able to package commissions as little gifts with my logo on them!
I'll put up a commission post soon and hopefully get some requests.
My final project for my first ever graphic design class was to design a pattern inspired by an award-winning designer of my choice while using a grid alignment system and type. Playing off of the vibrant and positive designs of Corita Kent, I used the phrase "Power Up" from one of her more popular pieces and incorporated a religious view into it, as a majority of her work does. If you look closely, you can spot the crosses inside the positives and negatives of the batteries--symbolism for recharging your spiritual battery. Don't forget to power up and fight for what you believe in!
P.S. Thanks to this project I now know how to properly wrap a gift box and will be making much use of that new skill 😁

I chose to do one for my grandpa's company, Wetzel Contracting Corporation. This project was definitely a challenge since there's not much that sets contracting/construction companies apart from one another--no tangible qualities that truly make them unique. All of them have "high quality service and materials," and Wetzel Contracting Corporation is no different! With a lot of mind-mapping, thumbnails, and advice from my professor, I came to the final symbol for the company. No one else is 'Wetzel' and their traditional 'W' is what everyone knows them for. They've been based in New York City for the past 50 years, which everyone acknowledges for the Empire State Building and the Twin Towers. By mashing up these symbols, I was able to come up with a very unique logo for my grandpa's company. The process was extremely tedious, but I would love to practice creating more logos.
