❛ WHAT’S AN HOUR BREAK GOING TO DO TO THAT ? ❜ barely having started and yet already so keen to enjoy the day’s delights, her words dripped with that followed the cheek-filled smile after it. though more than happy was she to sit there with the librarian’s company next too rare around the books. THEY ALWAYS HAD PLEASANT CONVERSATIONS, AFTER ALL ! with berry lips pressed against the edge of her cup, sipping at the warm liquid that woke her up with every trickle down her throat, ortensia giggled —— a chime of a sound, that echoed against the still sleeping walls of the library. ❛ you’re welcome to come, miss l’enfant. ❜
HER LAUGH was infectious - in the way pollen would cling to a wool dress in spring and the way the smell of newly-cleaned clothes would make even the angriest of people CALM. Belle found herself laughing as well, softly, like the chime of wedding bells at 5 A.M. She grinned and, looking around to make sure no one was watching, approached Ortensia.
“You’ve gotten my attention, Madame Ortensia - what do you propose we do on such a fine Saturday morning?”
quake-the-skye-johnson:
"Really? It’s not up now?“
SKYE GROANED in frustration. If she waited the two and a half freaking hours, she would possibly miss her window, and Quinn would be able to get away yet again. Skye was not going to let him get away though. There were other places she could probably go to, but most of the nearby coffee shops that had free wifi didn’t open this early. She could always break in and start the wifi up herself, but that implied a risk, one that Coulson had warned her about avoiding.
"Is there any possible way that we can get it up and running now? I really, really, really need to use a computer now, so I can do this research. Please!”
“Is this for a project you waited until the last minute for?”
BELLE PRESSED her lips into a thin line and exhaled. Her eyes held the look of an apology and exasperation, sorry that the rules were what they were and tired because she’s heard this so many times before. She rubbed the back of her neck as a thought occurred to her, a small worried smile curling on her lips. She wondered if this was a GOOD IDEA, suggesting such a thing, but she knew what it felt like to want to research - to read, she only hoped that this girl would’ve picked up on this hint; as well as put her research to good use.
“Well, maybe - if all the manual work was finished first I’d boot up the main computer, but it’ll take quite a while doing so alone.”
hello-ragdoll:
“I’m shy.”
The response was out of her mouth, before she really realized it. Not that it was a lie, strangers always made Sally anxious in the beginning. Her fingers fiddled with the edge of the paper, eyes roaming the numerals on the paper already envisioning where they were in the library. The redhead was an often enough visitor that she practically knew where everything was. She straightened herself up, trying to seem more confident.
“Or. I had come just wanting to read- but I don’t mind helping out! I’m more than happy to.”
“Oh!! I'm so sorry, I guess you aren’t the one they sent in -”
BELLE’S LIPS pressed together into a thin line, brown brows furrowed together in confusion. “Hm.” She said, taking into consideration why this girl wanted to go to a library so early if not for the fact she was the one on punishment. Then, upon hearing that she wanted to read, Belle’s eyes lit up like SUNSHINE - reminded of her days as a young girl, sneaking into libraries, reading books in silence until opening time - then until evening came.
“Don’t worry, you’ve done nothing wrong. Please go ahead and read all you want! I’ll be fine by myself for this. Oh, and if I may ask - what’s your name?”
Belle is in the kitchen making coffee when @untillyounoticeme enters the room.
“Oh! Pardon me, I didn’t hear you coming in - good morning!”
LA MAGIE APARTMENT COMPLEX was a very lavish place to live in. So lavish, that Belle felt out of place sometimes, and other times she wanted nothing more than to immerse herself in every facility it had to offer. Hence why she awoke at such an early hour to make herself coffee, her favorite drink next to a good cup of chrysanthemum tea.
“Oh, you must be my new neighbor in the complex, monsieur Jackson Powerline?”
charmpaws:
❛ WOULDN’T YOU RATHER GO OUT THAN STAY HERE… ❜ benignity silken in her tones though she spoke to no one in particular —— anyone that would care to listen was most appreciated though. the zephyr and the bright sun were the perfect combination for picnics or otherwise any sort of outside activity and there she was stuck, book lay open in front of her though she did not know what it spoke off. the homework she’d been putting off seemed so much more daunting now, though still, ortensia couldn’t help but wish she was anywhere but there. ❛ it doesn’t even look too hot or anything… perfect weather for going outside ! ❜ / OPEN.
“Well, good morning to you too, madame Ortensia.”
IT’S IN THE GOLD HUES of the sunlight, churning between 9 A.M to 10 A.M, that the blue sky finally showed itself. The smell of morning coffee (the only drink aside from water allowed in the library) stained the air, and the soft hum of the wind that drifted inside through large windows brought the smells of a new spring day. Belle carried her books to her work desk, smiling at the girl sitting in front of a desk away from her’s.
“It is a very beautiful morning, but you do have to study for a test, don’t you?”
@hotheaded-adam has just entered the library.
MOST PEOPLE she’d seen go through the library doors were students, categorized by their backpacks and binders, or teachers with a weary look in their eyes as they headed straight for the textbook aisles. Like always, Belle would offer a smile in greeting and if asked, would offer all the help she could. So when a person she’d seen around campus prior to this in front of the entrance, who was neither teacher or student, her interest was piqued. Why on Earth would a member of security be here? Was a student skipping class or running away for something? Or was something wrong, like a thief roaming around? Belle strode over to where the man was and cleared her throat politely, before beginning:
“Excuse me, I’m sorry to bother you - but, is something wrong sir?”
hello-ragdoll:
Sally took the piece of paper, caught slightly off guard by the new face. She’d come early in the morning to avoid seeing people, knowing most would still be in bed or putting off getting up from bed. If she was going to be frank, she needed the distraction to put her mind at ease. Her eyes looked back at the person, pushing a smile on her face, “Y-Yes, uhm, I can do that.”
“Um. Are you alright? You seem a bit... jittery.”
NERVOUS SMILE and a strange look in her eyes, Belle had a hunch that this girl was, in fact, not who the volunteer committee nor the disciplinary division sent. She pressed her lips into a thin line, worry creasing over her brows. It seemed like for today, the library was going to be a rather populous place, what with how many people she had mistakenly thought had come for punishment or volunteer work.
“I’m sorry - are you here for volunteer duty, punishment, or...?”

fluffy-abomination-626:
“Guess so.” Stitch said in a tone that implied he was not thrilled to be there. The boy had found himself in trouble yet again. It was to no one’s surprise. Ever since a young age, he managed to cause some sort of problem. This time it was for coming to class intoxicated and trying to start a fight with one of his peers for a comment they made. Apparently, if he had enough to time to drink in the morning, then he had enough time to dedicate a morning to doing something productive for a staff member. It was just another meaningless punishment to Stitch. “Yeah, can’t wait.” He muttered, not taking the paper from her. “You know what would be better though? If you said I was here and just let me leave.”
BELLE CERTAINLY KNEW what it was like to be told to do something one did not particularly like (try to get along, to ignore, to pay attention, act proper, to tolerate), memories of when she was younger resurfaced. She understood that some people liked staying in libraries, and some people didn’t - but judging from this boy’s troubled face and unhappy tone, she could tell he was one of the latter. She smiled lopsidedly, retracting her hand. The way he reacted reminded her of one of her old classmate’s from home.
“You don’t seem too thrilled to be here on punishment duty, are you? Tell you what, if you tell me what trouble you caused - I’ll try and cut the punishment a bit.”
quake-the-skye-johnson:
“What? What do you mean, ‘the one they sent’?”
SKYE COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE CONFUSED as she looked at the stranger. Part of her wondered if this was some dramatic attempt by Coulson to get her to go with him on another of his missions. It was completely his style to do something like that, but when she saw the girl holding out a paper that seemed to have nothing to do with the things they did (nor was it any kind of code that she could recognize). She had only been going to the library to access the computers. She needed to get to them early in the morning since the hack she needed to perform had to be done when Ian Quinn was online, and since he was halfway across the world, that time was early in the morning for Skye. She had to assume this girl was looking for the wrong person.
—————— "You’ve got the wrong girl. I’m just here for the wifi.“
“Oh, I’m sorry - I had gotten a notice from both the disciplinary division as well as the volunteer committee that a person would be coming for some library work.”
BELLE RELUCTANTLY retracted her hand, smiling sheepishly. A thought did occur to her, however, this girl was here to use the wifi - the computers could only be turned on if the main computer (located on Belle’s private working desk) was already booted up. Unfortunately, until all mandatory manual work (checking aisles, cleaning up, etc.) was finished Belle wouldn’t be able to boot up the computer.
“Oh I’m sorry, the operational hours for the computers and wifi won’t be until another two and a half hours. You won’t be able to use the wifi until then.”

Vision was actually more excited about helping out in the library then he had first expected, he loved the idea of easy access to knowledge and with the rows of books the man would be able to read much more. “I am, my name is Vision or the papers probably say Victor, but I go by Vision.” He said with a small chuckle.
He turned his stone-like body toward all the isles and returned to her with a very slim grin. “I would be happy to. I’m here to help any way that I can. You just want me to go through and makesure everything is clean?”
“It’s very nice to meet you, Vision! I’m Belle, how do you do?”
SHE GAVE HIM a benign smile, she could tell he was enthusiastic - since she probably sounded the same whenever the topic of the library was raised. The facility itself was quite a large place - even Belle, possibly the greatest bookworm in the world, hadn’t even managed to even cover a third of all the books there. It stretched for quite a while within the building, not to mention it had two floors. Most times, it would’ve taken her at least two or three hours to finish checking up on all the book aisles, but since Vision was here with her, she was confident it’d take a shorter amount of time.
“Yes, that’s all we have to do. Of course I’ll be going with you since we’d cover everything twice as fast, if that’s alright with you?” Belle looked at her own paper, “We have to cover the non-fiction aisles first, science through social studies for today it looks like. Oh, by the way - are you here on volunteer business or was this some... punishment for doing something bad? I have to input the information in the computer later, you see.”

❛ HEY, I KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT THAT ALREADY, people are going to start asking questions. besides, what’s the harm in broadening your horizons ! ❜ as much as he found himself sunk too deep into his love for greek mythos, where was the harm in learning as much as possible on other topics ? BESIDES, THEY WERE STILL IN SCHOOL, which was meant for learning !
❛ as if i haven’t heard that before. ❜ he snorted, though adoration shown through his gaze as he listened to the soft clicks on her computer. sometime’s he forgot that everything was so advanced today, which made him sound incredibly old. ❛ no more books —— at least, not until tomorrow. unless you call an “ open menu “ a book. have you had dinner yet ? ❜
"True, there’s always time for some new adventure.”
ADVENTURE. If there was anything in the world Belle and Hercules shared a common love for, it was adventure. Whether in stories they’d exchange during noon or when Belle would gush about her new favorite adventure books. It was their passion for adventure that brought them as close as they were today. He was always so kind and patient whenever she went on about the new books, always so polite - plus, he had such a bright smile and a kind personality, Belle always did love people like that the most. He was so much different from the faces from back home. Hercules would always be like the little brother she never had, of course, with less fighting than the usual kind.
“Oh, very smooth Hercules.” She quips, grinning. “No I have not, and you?”
