Here's a reminder<3
Your identity is in Christ. Not in pictures. Not in likes or followers. Those things don't matter. You are beautiful in Gods eyes. Your identity is not founded in those things. Your identity is found in a Christ.
He'll be...
He’ll be one of my guy friends, he’ll be a guy I won’t feel awkward around, he’ll be a guy I can have deep conversations with, he’ll be someone that doesn’t give me anxiety when I talk to him. He’ll push me to be a better person and I’ll do the same for Him. He’ll be obsessed with Gods truth and not get tired of talking about it. He’ll be open to trying new things with me and making spontaneous plans. He’ll get my sarcasm, my sometimes dark sense of humor, my wittiness, and my weirdness. He’ll be one to save me from uncomfortable or awkward situations. He’ll sing with me in Walmart or at the top of our lungs in the car. He’ll dance with me anywhere, he’ll watch movies late at night with me, he’ll be okay with taking pictures in front of cool walls together, he’ll laugh with me, he’ll cry with me, he’ll serve the Lord with me. He’ll be my best friend. And he may or may not be. I can only be creative with my writing and pray not for a “him”, but to trust that God does have a plan whether or not that includes a “him”.

Falling like the leaves. Changing like the trees. Chill like the air. Beautiful like the colors. Sweet like the cider. Warm like the fire. Soft like the sweaters. Happy like the festival feel. Calm like the autumn breeze. Oh fall, I look forward to you and all the things that come with you...
Let's go...
Let's forget about our phones. Let's throw them out the window. But we should probably keep our cameras for this trip... Let's go and get outta here. Let's go and see new and amazing places. Let's dance on the rooftop of our well used travel van. Let's blast the radio with the windows down while we fly down the highway. Let's drive until we're out of gas and if we end up in the middle of the desert... let's sleep under the stars. Let's get gas station snacks and have a picnic on the edge of a cliff. Let's climb rocks and jump on the top of them. Let's climb the greenest mountains and dive in the bluest seas. Just you and me. Let's go. And if you're unsure about getting up and going, close your eyes for a second and imagine this... You know the feeling you get when your whole family is laughing at something hilarious? Or that feeling you get when country music is playing with the windows down? Or that feeling when you experience one of Gods glorious sunsets and it takes your breath away? Yeah. It's like that. Except, I'll be right there with ya.
That Feeling
Have you ever felt that? That feeling? That feeling where you think your heart may burst because of all the joy inside of you. Have you ever just wanted to suddenly shout because you’re so incredibly happy that the only way to keep your heart from bursting… is to shout? I have. Recently too... I loved it. It’s one of the most amazing feelings. If you haven’t felt it, go somewhere or find somewhere you love. Find your happy place. Drive the scenic route through mountains and blast your favorite song with the windows down. Everyone should find their happy place at least once. So go out and find it.
This cowgirl is ready
Sometimes I wish I could just go back to being that little 12 year old cowgirl that had a thing for blue eyes and cowboy hats. The girl that was taller than all the boys and girls her age. The girl that rode a horse better than her bike. The girl that rarely ever wore makeup because sometimes the only company she had was her horse and golden retriever. I wish sometimes I could go back to being the girl that wore buckaroo boots with spurs strapped to them. I would wear them in restaurants and grocery stores just to show off that I rode horses. I was the real deal haha. Sometimes I just want to go back to when all I listened to was Country and Christian music. I miss driving down backroads with windows rolled down and static country music blasting on the radio. When my hair was whipped up by the wind with pieces of alfalfa hay sticking to the strands of my hair. I miss the low rumble my horses would make every time I would walk out to feed them. The thing is… I miss a lot of things. Even past memories before my cowgirl years. But I’m in a new chapter. The pages have been turned. The chapter I am currently in has taught me a lot. It’s helped me grow. It’s advanced me closer to the plot. I do miss the backroad country feel… but I also love the feeling of excitement I have for the upcoming years in my life. Every year, every day, every minute, is a gift I’ve decided I won’t take for granted. I’ve decided not to dwell on the sad thoughts of growing up, but instead grin at the thought of new responsibilities and possibilities. So I stand here today staring future in the face… and I’m telling it, I’m ready.
P.s. I still wear my cowboy boots when I want😉

Lightning and Thunderstoms
There's something about lightning and thunderstorms that I love. In a way they're comforting. I feel like they make a home feel... I don't know... more homie? It helps you realize that you have a roof over your head and that you are safe from the storms. I love when the thunder rolls and for a moment you're scared... but then right after, a beautiful lightning bolt splits across the sky. And for that split second, the darkness is overcome by the light. And then you gasp, smile, hold your breath, or simply let a "wow" escape your lips. Storms are poetic in a way. They're fascinating, powerful, scary, and yet incredibly beautiful. I have things on my mind, and struggles I'm dealing with, but for tonight I will watch the storm from my bedroom window. I will continue to say "wow" every time lightning strikes and then I will thank the Lord that I am at home... and safe.
”Is this how I really am or am I acting this way because I read too many MBTI posts featuring my type”, a novel by me.
I relate to this on so many levels😂
YOU are loved
YOU are wonderful. YOU are amazing. YOU are priceless. YOU are worth it. YOU are loved. So if you ever feel invisible and/or unloved, know that even before the earth was created He loved you. If you feel that you have messed up so badly there's no hope for you, know that even as He died on the cross for your sins, He loved you. Don't give up. There's hope. There's still love. And so my darling, know that you are precious in the sight of God.
Troubled heart, tho' they foes unite, let faith be strong and they armor bright; Thou shalt overcome thro' His pow'r and might, and more than conqu'ror be.

MISTAKES
Mistakes are what make you who you are. You know that common question friends or family ask you randomly? The one where they ask, "If you could go back in time, what would you change?" I wouldn't change a thing. If I went back I time it would be to re-live moments. All those mistakes I made I wouldn't bother with because without them, I would be someone different. I'm not saying that the person I am today is perfect. I'm far from perfect. What I am saying is that my mistakes and my flaws are what make me who I am. They are what draw me closer to God. When I realize how imperfect I really am, it makes me realize how much I need a savior. All your hard times and mistakes are for a purpose. God uses them. My mistakes are what push me to be more like Him. Even though I have regrets... I still wouldn't change them. I learned from them and I grew from them. And I'm thankful.
Cold. Wet. Dark. Pain.
(SHORT STORY) Another sneak peak into my book! - Cold. Wet. Dark. Pain Four words entered his mind. He could barely breathe. There was something covering his head that prevented his vision. He lay on his side on something hard, wet, and bumpy. “I’m in a prisoner cart” He thought. Koen tried to remember how he had gotten in there. Last thing he remembered was falling asleep. Had he been kiddnaped? He couldn’t remember. The cart continued to bump up and down. His shoulder was sore from hitting the floor of the cart over and over again. He then remembered Alaina. She was still back at the castle! If he was kidnapped what would happen to her? He had to get out of this. He tried to focus his mind on moving his hands. They were tied up. He wriggled and twisted, but to no avail. He kicked his feet, but they too were tied up. So he did the only thing he could think of. He yelled. Suddenly the cart stopped. He stopped yelling and listened. He heard footsteps and a lock move. What must have been the cart doors, swung open letting in cold air. Koen shivered and rolled over so that he was facing the open doors. “Ah, so he finally awakes.” a man said with an evil sounding laugh. “Is he awake?” Another voice sounded. It was his fathers voice. His father! He had done this! Koen moaned when he felt a sharp pain in his chest. “Oh shut up.” The man said again. “Yes, he’s awake!” “Let me see him.” Footsteps again. They came all the way up to where the other man stood. “Koen my boy, this is nothing…too personal. You’ll understand soon.” His fathers wicked voice said. “Let me out!” Koen's voice rose with frustration. “I’m afraid I cannot do that.” His voice came again. “Why are you doing this?” Koen asked with a painful tone. “Like I said, you’ll soon understand.” He laughed and threw the doors shut. Koen had to get out, because if he didn’t…he may never comeback.
Let's be real
This is my story:
You might see a girl beautiful as can be. Happy-go lucky-type. You might be right. But what you don’t see, is the things I hide. I’m not your perfect-photoshopped-tall glass of water kinda girl. Nope not me. I’m real. I’m real broken. I’m also mendable. I have believed lies about myself for most of my life, until now. Those lies stayed with me more than the truth did, honestly. The girl you saw, wasn’t the same girl I felt like I was.
I was told I was special, wonderful, beautiful, drop dead gorgeous, intelligent, that i’m going to be a great wife one day, I’m creative, I’m fun to be around.
I was also told, I wasn’t smart, I am going nowhere in life, I’m never going to be good enough for my parents, I’m never going to be worth loving, I’m never going to graduate high school, I’m never going to be worth teaching, I will never be organized, I can’t do anything on my own, my braces make my smile look weird, I’m stupid, I’m crazy, no one will ever want to marry me.
Guess what stuck with me? Yeah, you guessed it! All those negative things I was telling myself. It effected the way I made some decisions, it effected the way I lived my life! I knew I was priceless… But it was hard to believe that when I also believed those list of lies that I kept reciting to myself like it was some type of quiz.
You see, you can’t have both in the mix.
Tears were shed as I read this list out loud that I started believing since age seven. My wet, shaky hand took the pen, it was almost as if was handing it to my Father, letting go, and we started crossing out the lies, together, replacing them with the real, hard truth. An emotional experience, but it is something that will stick with me for a lifetime.
- I see broken, He sees whole.
I realized, I’m not the only one who feels this way. So here’s to all the girls out there who are a broken, beautiful, mess:
You are not alone. Forget perfect. Shed light on the darkness, on all the lies. You’re worth it. That’s the real truth!!
Repost this and remind someone… YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL MESS.

SNEAK PEAK INTO MY BOOK… Enjoy :)
“Reflection of ones self is important.” The words played through her mind. “You must understand yourself; your strengths and weaknesses before you can do anything "your best.” She could see his face in her mind and hear his voice speaking the words. The sun shone down and made a glare upon his square framed glasses. His old wrinkled face showed his wise old age and his voice was raspy but comforting. He had a jawline and a chin that showed determination, yet eyes that showed kindness. All through this journey she had told everyone she’d do the best she could. Then yesterday when that man came up to her and asked about her mission and she had answered with the same thing she had told so many for years, she had not expected his response. He had asked, “Do you know your best? In fact, do you even know yourself?” She had been confused at his response. Unable to answer his quick comeback. “I’m not sure what you mean…"She had replied. "What I mean is this… for so long people have expected so much of you. They expect a strong and fearless girl and so you’ve adopted that as your own thinking. You’ve taken their expectations and made them your reality. You don’t even know who you truly are. When was the last time you examined yourself? When have you done your best "YOU” and not “them?” You go one reading everyone else’s personalities and thoughts; you become so consumed by others around you that you forget yourself. You may have just met me yesterday, but a father knows his daughter. And I have the same gift you do. You’ve never had someone read you, but I can. Do you understand what I’m saying?“ He folded his arms and searched her eyes much like his own. "I… I think I do.” The wheels in her mind began to spin. She had never thought this before. He was right. Who was she really? What was her best? Does she have a best? What were her thoughts? The sad thing was, was that she couldn’t tell. “You’re right.” Her eyes dropped to the floor and she squeezed them shut. She would not cry. “How do I find out who I am?” She opened her eyes, but continued to look to the cobbled stone floor. “By finding who you are in Christ. By letting go of everyone else’s thoughts. By finding truth.” He placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. Realization dawned on her. She looked up into his eyes and let them fill with tears. They were tears of joy though. Tears of happiness. She knew what she had to do. “Thank you! Thank you!” She smiled and used the sleeve of her tunic to wipe the tears from her eyes. “Anytime my dear.” He had said with a kind smile. After a nod of understanding between the two he had turned and walked away. She stood in the middle of the room with a new mind. New determination. A new understanding and a new strength. She would be able to finish this now. “You ready to go?” David her brother interrupted her thoughts of the day before. “Yes. I’m ready.” She nodded and turned to face him. There blue eyes locked and after a few moments of silence, they walked out together. Today was the day that they fulfilled their quest. The quest for the kingdom. -Faith Ryan (@faithann2)
