This is why you don’t tame and feed wild foxes. If you move home, become sick or for whatever reason can no longer feed that animal that is now dependant on you, they are going to struggle. Foxes that are fed often maintain much smaller territories as they don’t feel the need to defend a large territory. If that human food source is then taken away they have far fewer choices for finding natural prey. A fox with cubs will have an especially hard time and may be forced to abandon the litter if she cannot feed them. 

Also, never try to relocate a wild fox. It is extremely cruel, stressful and quite often a death sentence. Foxes rely on their territory for survival, and when taken out of it have a significantly lower survival rate. In a new area they wont know where to find food, water, shelter or what dangers to avoid. If you move them to an area with existing foxes they may attack or even kill the newcomer. Relocated foxes will also often try to make their way back to their original territory, but few make it as they tend to get hit by cars or shot during the journey.
