* CLEGANE , MATEO .
Not many people know much about House Clegane - all they knew, really, was that it was built by those that followed the Lannisters and had ascended into a lordship when Queen Daenarys named them Wardens of the West and the Lords of Casterly Rock. The name Clegane, before that, had struck fear into others - the legends of the Hound and the Mountain ones that were unavoidable. “A hound can feel comfortable no matter where he is, so long as the company he is with is kind,” Mateo answered, hint of a smirk pulling upon his lips before the Lady Greyjoy began to speak about his father, the smirk falling slightly as he gave a nod. He was no fool - he knew very well the reputation his father, and his uncle, had had and he knew that they had no doubt made enemies. But his father wasn’t as heartless as his uncle, and he had had a soft-spot for two - the Stark girls. “Aye, my father spoke kindly of your mother and your aunt, Arya, too. There weren’t many, he said, that he could stand to be in a room with but they were those he didn’t mind.” Still, he gave a nod and left his gaze shift back to the water, watching as the waves crashed against the docks. “Trouble, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. What one might think as trouble I might simply think as fun. Surely you, as a Greyjoy, would understand that.”
❛ sounds nice , to be so . . . adaptable . ❜ a kraken is only at home in the sea , and a wolf only finds comfort in the cold ; anywhere else is a DISCOMFORT . she finds it funny how well a house sigil can describe it’s bearers , or perhaps people just grow into it . call someone a wolf all their life and they’ll start finding solace in the way the wind howls . alyse senses the change , the way his smile grows tense following the mention of his father , and she suddenly realises how DIFFICULT a name it is to carry , when whispers of your family’s reputation years prior is following closely behind your shadow . ❛ i didn’t mean to cause you any discomfort ---- ❜ alyse greyjoy isn’t one for apologies -- in fact , it makes her skin crawl to say the words , so that’s as close as a ‘ SORRY ’ as you’ll get . but STILL , she’s genuine ! a smile begins to crawl across her features at the mention of her aunt --- she’s heard those stories too . ❛ i’ve heard my aunt arya gave him a run for his coin , that’s for certain . ❜ she wants to say : the LANNISTERS were among those that most couldn’t stand to be in a room with . many spoke poorly of that particular house . but no need to speak ill of the dead . ( and the lannisters ? were most certainly GONE . ) arms fold themselves against the balcony’s edge as she listens , pale hues watching the docks below where she’s certain you’ll find mostly ironborn . yes , she’s also heard of some of the things the IRONBORN get up to in their downtime , and she’s won’t lie and say that some of it doesn’t make her recoil from her awe of them . she’s proud of her blood , she is , it’s just she’s yet to grow accustomed to their ways. ( ONE DAY , perhaps , when she returns to her father’s home --- maybe . ) so , she can’t say she’s got as much experience as some of her ironborn cousins , but that doesn’t mean she’s a total bore . ❛ as a greyjoy? sure , i can understand that , but as a northerner ------ the most fun we have is a game called ‘ try and not get frostbite ’. ❜
