Lamb of God / Dethklok Tour Cancelled Due To Incarceration

Well some very bad news for fans of Lamb of God, Dethklok and Gojira. Their 2012 tour has been officially canceled after rumors of which were dismissed. "Due to the continued incarceration of LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe in the Czech Republic, the band's co-headline tour with Dethklok scheduled to begin August 1st in Seattle is being cancelled. The band regrets the decision but the uncertainty of Randy's release makes it impossible to carry on with the tour. Upon Randy's release, it is the band's intention to rebook a tour in the fall and at this time the band fully intends to participate in the Mayhem Cruise in December. LAMB OF GOD wishes to thank Dethklok, Adult Swim and Gojira for their support and patience as well as all of the promoters who had dates on the tour. Last but certainly not least, the band thanks all of the fans who bought tickets for the tour and who have been supportive of Randy and the band over the last month that Randy has been held in Prague. Without the fans, there is no LAMB OF GOD." Adult Swim adds: In light of circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming Dethklok and Lamb of God with Gojira summer tour has been canceled. Refunds will be available to customers who already purchased tickets through their point of purchase. We thank Dethklok fans for their continued support and look forward to releasing information about the band's upcoming third album and a planned fall tour in the coming weeks. It goes without saying that many fans will disappointed, myself included, as Lamb of God has always been one of my favorite metal acts for over a decade. Even when they were Burn The Priest; before they changed their name. What I find most interesting, and very bizarre, is the charges raised on Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe. Involuntary manslaughter is what he is facing. What I first thought to be a simple misunderstanding, a charge that would blow over and quickly dismissed has escalated into a two bail hearings which he was denied both times and Czech prosecution that seems very unwilling to relent. From what fans can gather, Blythe, Lamb of God and their label have not had any knowledge or contact with the Czech authorities regarding the unfortunate death of the young individual who attended the Czech show two years ago. TWO YEARS. I find it very odd that for a prosecution who seems very adamant on convicting Blythe they had failed to contact US officials, issue a warrant, go public, or simply notify those involved with the tour in which the "victim" received his injuries that Blythe is being charged. Furthermore, this whole incident is being alleged to have spawned from a push off the stage Blythe had given to the fan that night. From this "shoving" the individual is said to have received injuries that later caused his death. Since details of the case are stilling being ironed out I can't say for sure what is in fact true or not. But having frequented many metal/hardcore shows I can attest to the brutal mosh and crowd surfing that happens at these shindigs. I have seen many a fan storm the stage to only be launched back into the sea of ragers by venue security. This is a very unfortunate incident indeed. But I would not call this murder.

Lamb of God Official Statement: "First of all, thanks to everyone who has reached out in support of Randy and each of us in this terrible situation. It's noted and very much appreciated. We have been keeping our heads down and not speaking out due to the fluid nature of the situation and the constantly changing information that even we receive daily. Within an hour things can do endless 180's. It's maddening to try and make heads or tails. We're taking the time to speak to you as it has been a significant period of time since this situation began and while nothing is immediately clear to any of us, we are not trying to keep anyone in the dark. We have reached out and are making use of the resources we have acquired to help our brother who is still detained in Czech jail. In the two years since, we were never notified of anything related to this incident. Randy is our brother and we assure you, we are all staying very positive for him, working endlessly behind the scenes to provide any and all assistance possible. The best we can do is to stay positive and continue to support our friend that we know is innocent. New Order, who have rejuvenated the live experience, have been playing shows across Europe this year, and will tour North America for the first time in seven years, according to Rolling Stone. They'll play seven shows across the U.S. and Canada this fall, without the help bassist Peter Hook, who is not happy at all about it. He'll get over it. A-Trak: Don't Push His Buttons

Posted earlier today via Huffington Post, DJ A-Trak took to the web showcasing his editorial prowess. Interestingly enough he did a commendable job highlighting the differences between the "dj press play's" and dj's who consistently change their sets. For some you'll be surprised to see how many dj's, even the most notable award winning individuals, admit to just pressing play on the cd deck night after night. A$AP Rocky Arrested After Fight in NYC

A$AP Rocky was arrested last night in New York City after a fight, TMZ reports. According to TMZ, Rocky allegedly beat up two people who took photos of him while he was engaged in a "verbal dispute" with another person. The photographers "suffered cuts and bruises with one requiring treatment at a hospital," reports TMZ. Rocky will apparently be booked for attempted robbery, according to TMZ.

Kendrick Lamar Talks New Album

After the release of Section.80 back in July of last year Kendrick Lamar was hailed as the prince of the west. The album received much critical acclaim and quickly rose to most people's, top 5 album of the year list. Kendrick's fan base has been waiting patiently for another dose of the west-coast emcee's brilliant wordplay and illuminative lyrics. In an interview with GowhereHipHop Kendrick told his fans that his next release, good kid, m.A.A.d city, will be different from, Section.80. "I love the element of surprise, I didn't want to do nothing the same way as Section.80. I always want to challenge myself and take it to the next level." With Kendrick, different doesn't scare us. It just leaves us asking ourselves, what more can this kid do to creatively distinguish himself, after his unmatched performance on Section.80? In an interview with Tim Westwood, Kendrick stated that he has already recorded 40 songs for the upcoming album. "I’ve probably done about 40 records. I'll narrow it down to like 13." Wouldn't it be nice if we could just get all 40? We are looking forward to this highly anticipated album release, which should be coming October of this year.

Video: Bloc Party: "Octopus"

On August 21 in the U.S. and August 20 in the UK, Bloc Party will release a new album called Four through Frenchkiss. They've shared the album's lead single, "Octopus", and a new video for it, directed by Nova Dando: constant frame changes, ribbon dancers, static and a performance in a warehouse-like backdrop. The song is available digitally today, and on 7" August 13 backed by the B-side "Straight Thru Cru".

Watch Tom Waits on "Fallon"

On Monday night Waits visited "Letterman" and offered his first live performance of material from his most recent album, 2011's Bad as Me. He followed that last night with an appearance on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon", where he performed the Bad as Me cut "Raised Right Men". He also sat down for a convo with Jimmy that was full of typical Waits-like quips. "The only people qualified to run the country are cutting hair and driving cabs." We love this guy. Waits' songs frequently present atmospheric portrayals of grotesque, often seedy characters and places—although he has also shown a penchant for more conventional ballads. The White Stripes X Third Man Records Release First Ever Live Shows

The latest package from Third Man Records' "Vault" subscription series features recordings from the White Stripes' first performances ever, recorded live at the Detroit bar the Gold Dollar in 1997. The Live at the Gold Dollar 7" single features a recording from an open mic night on July 14, 1997, which was the first ever White Stripes live performance. It comes pressed on red vinyl and includes "Jimmy the Exploder" and the traditional "St. James Infirmary Blues" from 1999's The White Stripes, as well as a cover of "Love Potion #9". The 12" white vinyl LP, also titled Live at the Gold Dollar, was recorded at the band's first ever full concert, on August 14, 1997. It comes pressed on white vinyl, and includes early versions of the Stripes tracks "Lafayette Blues" and "Screwdriver", as well as a cover of the Stooges' "TV Eye". Finally, the package includes a 12" black tote bag that features the White Stripes' iconic peppermint design. Watch a full set the White Stripes played at the Gold Dollar in 1999:

Video: Murs - "Animal Style"

Homosexuality and hip-hop are hardly, if ever, mentioned in the same conversation. Homophobic hate speech has always been a part of hip-hop culture and, homosexuality, despite the wide spread awareness in today's world, is still considered taboo in the aggressively heterosexual world of rap. With the recent coming out of hip hop and R&B star Frank Ocean, a member of Odd Future, many of the top names in the rap industry have pulled together in support of him. Read more here... Murs has put together a track entitled, "Animal Style," that we could only expect from a handful of hip-hop artist, which details the struggles of young homosexual men in this country. With no support network, ostracized, and usually bullied or physically abused, many young men like the ones described in this song have no escape. Check out the video below...

Video: Rise Above with Eddie Elias

This week’s Rise Above introduces Buddy Elias who lost his leg due to a rare disease called Thromboangiitis Obliterates (aka “Buerger’s Disease”) through smoking cigarettes. Buddy was a skateboarder prior to surgery and after the doctors removed his leg, he turned to skateboarding. to keep himself anchored and comeback from his struggle.

Video/Short Film: Yelawolf - "Gutter"

The recently released video/short film for Yelawolf, "Gutter," ft. Rittz is visually disturbing but something you can't help but keep your eyes glued to. Directors Tyler Clinton and Michael Wayne did a good job creating an overwhelming sense of desperation, an unsettling eeriness far surpassed most horror/slasher flicks. Warning, it is NSFW and pretty raunchy. The video/short film depicts a realistic adaptation of a disturb individual. Taking from the theme of the song, the video tells the story of an adolescent boy who through his life was subjected to the emotional distresses and anguish assimilated with growing up in the "gutter." What exactly constitutes the "gutter" is open for interoperation, which we believe is intentionally done in the video because everyone has there own personal hell they may have experienced. The little boy is flashed images of torture, beheadings, men burning alive and any other twisted crimes against humanity you can imagine. Long story short the boy grows up to be a murderer and, well, all the details should be seen yourself. Check the video out below.

A$AP Rocky Responds To SpaceGhostPurrp, Says "Fuck Him"

The pretty "mother fucker" A$AP Rocky had some choice words for SpaceGhostPurrp in a recent interview with MTV News. Spawning from comments made by SpaceGhost claiming the Harlem, New York rapper jacked his style and even took some of his lyrics for "Goldie." After backpedaling and saying he had love for A$AP. "F him, fuck him, straight up. He's one of those cats, like a lot of guys just hang around me, try to get hype, and when they dip off, start throwing dirt on the young on the blood. But they can't stop the pretty motherfucker," he said. "At the end of the day, he know what it is and he trying to lie to people, pumping that we took styles from him. I mean, if you really look at it, the proof is in the pudding. He's corny.
