deciding one day that you want to build a life for yourself is so scary. like damn I really want to live… I’m new to this. where do I even begin
also shoutout to my really tired old white guy gynecologist who when i said "i want a hysterectomy" did not push back at all and instead sighed, and without looking up at me from his tablet went "We'll have to do a bunch of stuff for insurance because it's a scam and otherwise they won't approve it" and then after laying out the plan walked me out and i dont know if we made eye contact once after shaking hands, which is exactly the kind of medical care i want in this day and age.
shoutout ppl w tooth gaps btw. or overbites. or underbites. or crossbites. or uneven teeth. or other dental conditions. and also ppl who don’t want to/can’t afford to get that stuff changed/"fixed". ily
additive edit from rbs n replies: also ppl with discolored teeth, and broken/damaged/decaying teeth, and missing/no teeth
and i'll probably keep adding stuff as i think of it. just know i love ur teeth and/or lack thereof. ur cool n ily
I really hate when I have to unfollow someone because they decided to be transphobic. Can we all agree that there's no place to hate on trans men or trans women or nonbinary people? Like it's getting really old. Solidarity or nothing. I don't want fake ally-ship you either stand with each of us or none of us. You cannot say you support trans people and willingly hate one side of the trans spectrum. We can absolutely call each other out and hold each other accountable but this stereotyping and malicious behavior towards one another needs to fucking stop. It's concerning how easily people are falling into the fascist trans hate belief systems. Decolonize your thoughts.
holding two truths (which possibly need to cook a little longer)
1. genuinely i LOVE and ADORE and find beautiful many common traits about trans people that might be considered "clockable" - voice quirks and facial features and builds that cis people rarely have but that we often do and that make us gorgeous and unique
AND
2. i love and support my trans dear ones who pursue medical care and other methods of changing these physical attributes in order to live lives with less dysphoria and more feeling of bodily harmony
both can be true and both are important
I am right in front of you,
Why can't you see me,
As I am?
Op's pronouns: he/him, they/them
let's hear it for the nonbinary folks who:
don't present androgynously
use "binary" pronouns in any capacity
identify partially with a binary gender
have a "gendered" name
don't experience body dysmorphia
don't experience gender dysphoria
DO experience gender dysphoria/body dysmorphia but aren't sure what gender or body would suit them
just experience body/gender apathy instead
can't be open about their gender identity yet
you're all absolutely valid.
don't ever feel like you're "not nonbinary enough" because you absolutely are! 💖
Like/reblog if you think that you don't need to medically transition to be transgender
coming out is transitioning.
announcing a new name is transitioning.
changing your pronouns is transitioning.
changing your wardrobe is transitioning.
changing your hair is transitioning.
changing your legal name is transitioning.
changing your legal gender is transitioning.
social transition is transition. legal transition is transition. medical transition is not the only kind.
transitioning is any steps taken to live as your actual gender.
I wish all non-binary people who label themselves as feminine, use she/her or feminine terms a good day. I wish all non-binary people who label themselves as masculine, use he/him or masculine terms a good day. I wish all non-binary people who label themselves as androgynous, use they/them or other neutral pronouns, and neutral terms a good day. I wish non-binary people who fall under multiple of these a good day.
I wish exorsexists a very rotten day.
when i say all i mean all
The world will always need more happy women who love being women in it than it will miserable men who hate being men.
It will always need more happy men who love being men in it than it will miserable women who hate being women.
It will always need more happy nonbinary people who love life outside the binary in it than it will ever need miserable men and women who hate being binary.
Do not live half a life for the comfort of transphobes and exorsexists. Don't die wondering, and don't let them bury you a stranger. Even if you're wrong, you'll still know your own heart better after exploring more of its corners.
I genuinely think most people don't quite understand just how big of a deal it is that Nintendo put the word Nonbinary front and center in a direct and a gender select screen (the dating preferences too, of course).
Households will play this, kids will see it; and its presence as an equally legitimate option, not a "secret" controversial & "inappropriate" thing could have a huge positive impact going forward, especially as it now sets the stage for other mainstream franchises to follow suit.
It's now especially important that tomodachi life succeeds and sends the right message back to Nintendo. They've stuck their necks out for us and personally, I'd really like to see them rewarded for it.
