Hey you! Don't give up! Failure is all around if that is what you choose to see. I incubated chicken eggs and less than 20% successfully hatched. My husband brought home a pair of hypothermic lambs a few weeks ago and I couldn't save one. I haven't gotten all of the chores finished on my to do list, probably ever. I don't think I've ever finished a list. Anyway, that's the point, you wake up tomorrow and you start another list. Celebrate your victories! I hatched a couple chicks! I saved a lamb! I did some chores! Go me! Go you! We're fucking amazing!

Well folks, last week was a bust for my blog! The posting schedule I anticipated for this year has not panned out AT ALL. My January posts/planned posts grade would be failing. Now for the good news, it doesn't matter anyway! I am blessed beyond my own understanding! I am divinely guided, loved, and protected! I have everything I need and even more is on its way to me!

Sometimes plans don't go the way you'd like them to. More often than not, shit happens. The good news is, it happens to everyone. The other good news, you're on the journey towards "getting it right". If you just "got it right" all the time already then your trip would be over.

On this day, I will be thankful I'm still on the ride. I will be thankful I still have time to work on things. I will take some time to reflect on the innumerable ways I'm blessed and take it for granted. I have everything I need and even more is on its way to me!

Last night was long and bittersweet. One of our goats had triplets. Unfortunately, one was not born alive and a second baby is super tiny (under a pound). While I spent the night awake, doing hourly feedings and running a little baby goat nicu, I was thinking how bazaar and illogical life can be. Of the three babes, the deceased one was significantly larger and by all appearances healthier than this little fella and yet here he is, fighting the good fight. It made me think of the many, many, many times I've looked around, felt inadequate, and thought probably every one else was more qualified than myself. Yet, here I am and it's me, not you. You can say the same, and ought to. Against whatever odds, or logic you think you understand, you are here and that is worth the effort because there are other souls who did not get the privilege.

You are witnessing me finally accomplishing something from my to do list today (after 3pm). I didn't get most of my to do list done yesterday. Turns out, I was too busy talking care of all the life that keeps happening. I'll maintain some perspective and even more gratitude, they say once it stops you're dead. 🥰

On this day, I will push myself to have a strong finish this work week. I will try to get as much accomplished off of my to do list as possible before I switch gears for the week's end. I was frequently the kid in the hallway during reading class because I was impatient with my fellow students who didn't read as quickly as I did. Spending time alone, in trouble, because I couldn't wait patiently and kindly was frequent even into my adulthood. Patience is a virtue I do not naturally possess. On this day, I will be patient with myself and others. We don't all move at the same pace, we can't all get it right the first time, and we deserve to move at our own speed without somebody being an asshole about it. On this day, I will give myself and others the time and space required to figure it out. I will be understanding and empathetic. I will be supportive and compassionate. If you could ask a turkey what it's purpose was on this Earth, I doubt it would respond with to be eaten. I have turkeys on my farm and while they do watch for predators, they spend every day of their lives blissfully whistling to each other about food, laying in the sun, and taking dirt baths. Their death is the end of their life's experience, and certainly then, not their life's purpose. We don't really know, we don't really understand, and we don't really need to. You and I are living our lives, and hopefully, sharing food and fellowship with our family and folk because that's what makes life worth living. On this day, I will remain grounded in gratitude for the abundance around me and centered in my own self understanding, self acceptance, and self confidence. I am blessed beyond my own understanding!
