So about that Artemis fowl trailer :

I loved the Artemis fowl books growing up and recently as a 24 year old I reread the first book and it still holds up.

I saw the trailer for the movie and I think I am in the minority when I say that it looks like a standard movie ,it doesn’t look bad for someone that knows nothing about the books .

That said they changed almost everything from the characters to the story itself and it doesn’t represent the books at all.

Disney chose to take the safe route and make it a cliche fantasy movie like all the others , they always do that. they woudnt like taking risks with a main character that would be the villain so I am taking this movie as just a FanFiction made out of character in a AU setting.

maybe I’ll enjoy the movie as it’s own thing but I wish they had gone with the more unconventional story of the books .we sure as hell needed more diversity in the movies they put out.
