How To Get A Job Fast As Hell
@owenabbott
Apply to a job, wait (1) day, then call. Give them your first and last name. Tell them you submitted an application and that you’re very motivated to find [Enter field name] work. Let the conversation lead you wherever it takes. Be very polite. Say” thank you for your time, I’ll be looking forward to hearing back from you.” Rinse, repeat. This is to force them to be looking out for your application.
When you get to the interview, shake their hand firmly, tell them your first and last name.
Describe your experiences as “ two years transcription and data entry” if you have a desk job interview and “ [however many years] costumer service, retail and stock” for your retail jobs.
Don’t use job “ buzz words” I stg they hear them all day. Say things like, “ I’m detail oriented and am very good at taking instruction.” “ I would like to work for a company with integrity and I feel that [ company name] would be a good fit”
When they ask you if you have “reliable transportation” say YES. don’t tell them what kind of transportation, just say yes. (if you don’t do this, you wont get the job , I’m telling you right now).
Research the company. Know what they do, why they do it, how OLD the company is. WHERE it was founded, and what kind of position you’re intending to apply for.
When they ask you “ give us a situation where you had to blah blah blah” Make one the fuck up. Make yourself sound good as hell, and like you put your company’s needs slightly above the customer’s needs, but make the customer happy.
If they ask you about being outgoing, Say you “like to focus on your work so you can concentrate on doing things right” (which buys you out of having to act friendly all the time)
Questions for after the interview:
1. Does this position offer upward mobility?
2. Do you enjoy working for the company? (if you’re not interviewing for a temp agency who will send you anywhere)
Then, shake their hand, Ask them to repeat their name (REMEMBER THIS) say thank you for your time, wish them a nice day and leave. write their name down outside if you have to, just remember the fuck out of it.
AFTER your interview, send a card directed to the name of the person who interviewed you (I’ll give you them) that says “Thank you for the interview, I appreciate the opportunity. have a great day” This shows that you have an understanding of professionalism, and will have them thinking of you kindly (or at least remembering you) when they’re shuffling through the choices.
DO NOT tell them you just moved to the city over the phone. In person, tell them you just moved to the city. Make it sound like the only reason you need a job is because you moved. Not because you’re desperate.

hello beans!! the year just started so the first thing i thought of doing is making a lil contribution to help everyone and here it is! i know this isn’t all of it but i guess you could say these are the basics so here you go: Animal Bites
1. wash the wound at once under running tap water to wash out the animal’s saliva 2. bathe it for five minutes with gauze and plenty of clean water 3. rinse with more water and cover with a dressing 4. see a doctor IMMEDIATELY
Ant and Mosquito Bites
1. wash the bites with soap and water 2. put a paste made of baking soda and a little water on them OR put calamine lotion on them 3. if there is a swelling, cover with a cold-water bandage
Bruises
place a cold compress (a cotton wool or a towel soaked in cold water and wrung out will do) over the bruise
Cuts And Scratches
1. wash your hands always 2. wash the skin around the wound with soap and running tap water (wash away from and not towards the wound) 3. when the surrounding skin is clean, wash the wound with soap and running tap water, using a fresh sterile gauze 4. put a mild antiseptic on the wound and when dry, cover with a sterile gauze and a bandage
Hiccups (not really an injury but it does feel a bit annoying sometimes)
1. take a deep breath and hold it as long as you can 2. slowly sip several glasses of cold water
Minor Burns and Scalds
1. wash your hands 2. run cold tap water over the burn to ease the pain 3. (i) if the skin is not blistered put on petroleum jelly and cover with several layers of sterile dressing (ii) if the skin is blistered just apply dressing and keep out the air 4. don’t apply ointment, oil or antiseptic 5. if the burn is large, see a doctor
Nose Bleed
1. sit quietly with head bent forward 2. press nostrils together for five minutes OR lie down with a cold wet towel across the face
Splinters
1. wash round the splinter with soap and water 2. sterilize a needle and tweezers by boiling them for five minutes 3. loosen the skin round the splinter with the needle 4. remove it with the tweezers 5. cover the skin with a dressing
Sunburn
(i) if the skin is red but not blistered put calamine lotion freely on it
(ii) 1. if there are blisters or there is a severe burn, make a weak solution of baking soda (two tablespoonfuls of soda to one quart of water) 2. wet a sterile dressing with it 3. put on the burn 4. do not use anything greasy and do not expose skin to the sun until burn is healed
Wasp and Bee Stings
1. remove the sting if visible 2. run cold water over the sting to ease the pain 3. bathe in water in which baking soda has been dissolved 4. leave on a wet bandage
happy new year and stay safe buds!
Strong words to use on a Resume
If you have ever had to write a resume for work or for an application, then you know the hardest part is figuring out what type of words to use that sound professional and and intelligent.
Example: If an application asks you if you have any relevant experience for a job at a day care center and you have experience, like you have babysat children. You would look at the words in the columns to see what words you should use that will help your resume stand out. You might put down “Have supervised and attended to children on a regular basis.”
I hope this is helpful to you.
Now this is a great resume list of action words. I love that it’s broken down by types of jobs. Saving for future use.

hey guys!!!
so this entire past month has been extremely, extremely stressful for me because i had so many exams and i only realised how hideously unprepared i was for them on the day before the exam, which was really really awful. so in the middle of september i created a studyblr to keep myself motivated + get some helpful tips from the studyblr community on how to go abt studying for tests. the results proved to be super helpful and ive resolved to keep running this blog for as long as i can, because it really helps me stay motivated and i’ve already learned so many things from the community, despite the fact that i’ve only been here for around a month.
but anyways, i decided to create this masterpost in order to help others stay motivated + keep studying not only well but also properly i.e. not necessarily studying for exams but life in general, if that makes sense.

PSA for anyone looking for work in a restaurant setting there’s this website called easypairings and basically it takes legit a minute to enter some basic info (like what position you’re looking for ie: busser, server, barista etc) and answer some experience questions, and then when a restaurant has an opening for a position you’re looking for the website will send you a text to reply to in order to confirm that you want an interview @ said place, I’m bad at explaining but it’s really dope and hooked me up w a $12/hr gig in less than a week so check it out!!!
HEADS UP SENIORS
I just found an amazing scholarship and college research website.
It is called raise.me and it basically gives you mini scholarships for doing things like getting an A in a course, doing community service, or just taking an AP class in general.
For example, you can receive up to $6,000 for a school because you completed over 200 hours of community service.
$30 per hour you work. Guys, that is nearly triple minimum wage.
Also, a few other schools offer mini scholarships for students who get B’s in a class or are taking a foreign language for more than 2 years.
This is the scholarship website we’ve been looking for.
