As minor as it may seem I’m so glad that mappa is taking their time with showing these quiet moments of domesticity in csm because that’s really why I love the series so much, the characters feel so human and a large part of that is seeing their mundane daily lives in contrast with the chaos of being devil hunters. Like hell yeah, show me Aki’s morning routine and the way he measures out his laundry detergent. Show me the Hayakawa family all eating dinner together. That’s what I wanna see babeyyyy

Love this one short scene from the end of the OP.

Denji and Power are playing in front of a backdrop depicting the countryside, not really aware of the things around them. They’re shown as being younger here, as innocent children. Their only goals are to enjoy life.

One level of awareness higher, propped up by his experiences, Aki stares away from the viewer, into the mural depicting an urban city and a wanted poster. His attention is solely focused on what he needs to do.

More aware still, standing atop boundless knowledge, Makima peers right over the wall, into endless darkness. Her goals go beyond anything that concerns the other three.
