Queer people can never say I love you it always has to be some "you are not luminous Watson, but you are a conductor of light and for that I am forever in your debt."
Sherlock & co dynamic in question
I'm so ready for Good Omens 3
Yk it's bad when your friend who has sh&co patron says "good luck" before you listen to an episode. (I stopped at 4.12 because I can't cry in public)
@itaintteo
Finished. I cried
I wasn't joking guys
More smooches, thanks! 🤭💕
I adore them
Sherlock Holmes, It's not even him
Is good omens 3 just another Sherlock adaptation I'm gonna watch?
Sherlock Holmes, It's not even him
the fuck was ep8 about
One of the best things that Sherlock & co did was giving John Watson depth and as much attention as Sherlock. It's so cool to know his backstory, listen to him and be able to know so much about him. Most adaptations treat John almost like a side character or overlook his past or forget that he also can be a very interesting part and he's more than Sherlock's sidekick and friend
your honor i’m obsessed with whatever is wrong with these two
This is one of those moments Sherlock realizes John is just as fucked up as he is he just hides it better lol
No.1 Micheal Sheen fan!
"Lalka" chapter XIII be like
Dear Sherlockians,
If you have ever spent approximately two seconds debating whether or not John Watson has anxiety from the war or likes white bread, then congratulations; you have applied more thought to the character than Doyle ever did in forty years.
To be fair I like to think that it's bc the books are from Watson's perspective and he doesn't really like to write about himself. I'd like to believe this... I sleep better at night believing this
Lately, while reading some Good Omens fanfiction, I’ve been thinking about how many things this story, and especially this fandom, makes space for that mainstream fiction often skips over. Not just gender in all its breadth and nuance, and not just every kind of orientation and way of loving, but also disability, neurodivergence, mental health, and all those quieter parts of being human that don’t always get written with care. The things that make each of us different, specific, and real. So much of standard narrative still leans on a narrow idea of what a person looks like, sounds like, lives like. Even when it tries to be inclusive, it can feel like a checkbox or a side plot, rather than something lived-in. But in this fandom I’ve found a wider range of experiences than I expected, and often written with so much gentleness. People aren’t reduced to one trait. Identity isn’t treated as a problem to solve. It’s just… there. It’s part of the character’s world, the way it is in real life. And for me, that’s had a real impact. I’ve finally seen parts of myself reflected on the page in ways I didn’t realise I’d been missing. And at the same time, I’ve been able to learn about lives and perspectives that aren’t mine, things I might not have explored deeply otherwise. It’s made me more open-minded, more aware, more careful with how I understand other people. It’s strange, in a good way, that a fandom built around an angel and a demon can hold so much humanity. All I know is: it’s helped me, properly, and I’m really grateful for that.
AO3 please come back, I can't do this without you
There are obviously a lot of people relating to Sherlock in Sherlock & co or feeling more comfortable with themselves bc of his character and his autism being canon and great written. It was even mentioned in The Musgrave ritual!!! and that's so cool and wonderful
I understand this sm because I have exactly those feelings but with John. I've been listening to this podcast for almost 2 years and since then I feel SO MUCH more comfortable with myself. John Podcasts Watson not only is my absolute fav and comfort character but I see myself in him a lot, mainly in his way of talking, sense of humor, his 'fake' confidence, way of handling stressful situations, experiencing life and expressing his feelings.
And I was always an insecure person (what I also share with Watson) in many ways and this little British guy made me realize that those things I hated, like being socially awkward, trying to joke about everything to "fill in the silence", being clumsy and all this are things i actually quite like when it's him, not me. In the aftermath, I started liking it more about myself!!!
Not to mention, he helped me a lot with how I see myself physically. The way I feel about being short, not skinny guy with scars has changed since I started adoring this man with those exact features (well, depends on how you head canon his looks but in my imagination he's like that)
I love you John Podcast Watson, the things you've done to my life, please never be sad
