to bring this home for some of my younger followers, look at this and then look up a map of your state’s congressional district lines. You should be able to find one easily if you google that phrase. Notice how most of your districts are big polygons, but some of them are bizarre, nonsensical spindly things? This effect is why they got drawn that way.
